Mana. The very essence that fills every living being. Those who can manipulate and channel their mana, the Mahoutsukai. Those who seek to create more of their kind from potential Mahoutsukai, the Phantoms. One girl, with her immense power, created countless Phantoms that broke free, but never once became one. With the aid of a fellow Mahoutsukai, she was freed of her problem. Now, she travels the worlds, helping those in need. This, is her story.
Kamen Rider Magica: The Resonant Phantoms The streets of Paris were in disarray. Ghouls running about everywhere, attacking any citizen they saw. In the middle of the crowd of Ghouls was none other than a Phantom, the Kappa Phantom. “Find the gate, he couldn’t have gotten far!” As the Ghouls continued their assault, a young man ran past them, but found himself falling on his face. Looking up, he saw a cloaked figure, simply enjoying a croissant. “Hey, get out of here! It’s dangerous!” To the man’s surprise, the figure simply kept eating, watching the Ghouls carefully. As they approached the man, he closed his eyes and cowered in fear. “Sorry, I wanted to finish my meal first.” The man opened his eyes to see that the cloaked figure had stepped in front of him and cut down the Ghoul. Watching the figure toss its cloak off, the man’s eyes widened when he realized it was an asian teenage girl. “You may wanna stay back.” “Eh? But you need to get yourself to safety too!” “Trust me, these guys are the ones who’ll need to get to safety.” Looking closely, he saw her put on two rings, one on each hand. “Is it really time for you to try on jewelry right now?!” “Just watch me, okay?!” Bringing her right hand toward her waist, the young man was startled to suddenly hear ~DRIVER ON, ONEGAI?~ To his surprise, a belt materialized around her waist. “What was that?!” “Didn’t I tell you to be quiet?!” “There he is, the Gate!” The Kappa Phantom pointed towards the young man as Ghouls charged. “So you’re the Gate after all, huh? Well stand back. HENSHIN!” Bringing her left hand towards her belt, she became enveloped in pink light as a magic circle appeared. ~MAGICA! ONEGAI? MAHOU, MAHOU, MAHOU SHOUJO!~ Where the girl once stood was an armored figure that looked like a Japanese schoolgirl, with two yellow pigtail like attachments attached to her head. “Saa, Watashi No Showtime Daa!” “Mahoutsukai?! Ghouls, get her!” As they approached her, the girl put on another ring. Bringing her hand to her belt, it said ~CONNECT, ONEGAI?~, creating a magical circle in front of her. Reaching forward, she then pulled her arm back, revealing a long staff with a crescent moon at the top. Pulling the moon down, the staff transformed into a sword as she began cutting her way through the Ghouls. As several of them circled her, she turned it back into a staff and swung it around, knocking several Ghouls off their feet. “Now, how about we take this to the elements?!” Pulling out a ring that had black, silver and red, she took off the ring on her left hand and slipped it on. Hitting a lever on her belt, it began to glow, shouting ~SHABADOOBIE TOUCH TO HENSHIN? SHABADOOBIE TOUCH TO HENSHIN?~ before she brought her hand to it. ~FLAME, ONEGAI? HI? HI! HI HI HI!~ From an alley way, the man watched as she raised her hand to her left side, as a fiery magical circle came towards her. Once it passed, in her place was another armored figure that resembled a witch. With her cape flowing behind her, she converted her staff into a sword again and began to slash away. “How about this?!” Placing her hand on the “hand” of her weapon, it suddenly was engulfed in flames. Taking off the ring on her right hand, she put on another, one that resembled a pegasus running quickly. ~RAPID, ONEGAI?~ Putting her sword in front of her, she jabbed it several times, hitting Ghouls over and over again until each one exploded. Seeing this, the Kappa Phantom commanded some of his other Ghouls to attack. “Keep her busy! I’ll take care of the Gate.” The girl noticed what was going on, and pulled off the ring on her left hand. Taking out a silver and blue ring, she slipped it on and placed it in front of her belt. ~WATER, ONEGAI? SUI SUI SUI SUI~ Her form changed yet again, giving her the appearance of a cleric with a hood. Turning her weapon back into a staff, she swung it towards Ghouls and lifted them off the ground. Several Ghouls attempted to stab at her, but she put on another ring on her right hand and scanned it. ~VAPOR, ONEGAI?~ Breaking up into small water particles, the vapors surrounded the Ghouls, before crushing them. Reforming back, she put on another ring. ~HURRICANE, ONEGAI? FU? FU! FU FU FU FU FU!~ Changing forms again, her new form was green with arrow shapes and a green ponytail. Kicking some Ghouls aside, she scanned another ring as she leapt into the air. ~LEVITATE, ONEGAI?~ Throwing her staff at the Ghouls, it circled around her, hitting other ones as she made her way closer to the Kappa Phantom. “Leave him alone!” Kicking the Phantom aside, she helped the young man off the ground. “It’s okay, just stay back, and I will be able to end this quickly. Taking out a yellow and silver ring, she scanned it and charged. ~LAND, ONEGAI? DO DON DO DON DO DON~ Kicking him down, she scanned another ring. ~KAKKOII! EXODUS. SUGOI!~ Concrete surrounding her, the girl leapt into the air and kicked down at the Phantom, crushing him completely as he exploded. Landing on her feet, she turned to the young man, who watched as she reverted to her human form. “Beautiful...” “Huh?” “Uh, nothing, thank you for saving my life.” “It’s what I do,” the girl said, turning away. “Wait!” “What is it?” “My name is Pierre, and yours?” Sighing, she turned and got a closer look at him. “Cute...” “Eh? Your name is Cute?” “Wha- No! It’s Marika. Sakai Marika.” “I’m confused, is your first name Sakai or Marika?” “First name is Marika, last is Sakai.” “Where are you from?” “What’s with the questions?!” “Well I’m curious, it’s not everyday that a magical girl appears and save my life!” As soon as he saw Marika walking farther away from him, “Wait up!” “How long are you going to follow me?!” “Til you answer my questions.” Marika looked at Pierre, he was out of breath, panting while looking down with his hands on his knees. “Look, I know I am a stunning girl, but I’m only 18, do you really wanna keep following me around?” “I am 18 too!” “Didn’t ask that. Look, Pierre, I don’t have time for this. I gotta get back to the hotel I’m staying at before check out time.” “Oh...so you’re leaving Paris?” “Not...not exactly.” Marika took out one of her rings and slipped it on. “I can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner.” ~TELEPORT, ONEGAI?~ “Hey, wait!” “Get out of the magic circle, idiot!” Before she could push him out, Pierre grabbed onto Marika just as the magic circle spirited them away. ___ Landing in the hotel lobby, Marika pushed Pierre off of her. People passing by noticed what was going on and laughed. “Oooh, look, a lover’s quarrel.” Marika’s face turned bright red as she frantically waved her arms around. “It’s not like that, he just latched onto me! Help, he’s a stalker!” “Eh? No I’m not!” Marika ran to the elevator, only for Pierre to follow her in. “Ugh, why won’t you leave me alone?!” “It’s cause I want to know about you! Please, tell me.” “Fine...As soon as we get to my room, I’ll tell you everything.” Pierre smiled at Marika with delight and pulled a small notebook out of his pocket. “What are you doing?” “I’m a reporter, I want to record our conversation!” “Wha...fine. But you better not use my name in there!” “Oh, no problem, I guarantee I won’t!” Sighing, Marika pressed a button and waited until they reached her floor. Quickly walking out of the elevator, Marika attempted to shake off Pierre only to see that he managed to follow her closely. “Ugh...come in.” Opening her door, Marika and Pierre stepped into her hotel room. To his surprise, it was messy and covered with strange colored rocks. “I think someone ransacked your room!” “Nope, this is how I left it.” “EH?! But it’s so messy!” “Just take a seat on the bed.” Pierre did as he was told only to prick his hand on something. “OW! Why do you have carving tools in your bed?” “I was working on something, okay?! Geez.” Pierre looked down at his hand then back at Marika. “Okay, so tell me, what exactly are you?” “I’m a Mahoutsukai.” “Ma-ho-su-guy?” “MA-HOU-TSU-KAI.” “Mahoutsukai? Is that Japanese for something?” “It means wizard or magician. Okay, the next part might confuse you. Is that okay?” “Sure, go ahead,” Pierre said, holding his pen close to his notebook. “Every human being has something called mana, the essence of all life. Some people have more mana than others, they are called Gates, which is what I used to be and what you are now. Those who are Gates, when they fall into despair, unleash their inner Phantom. A Phantom is what that monster that attacked you was, and they are created by killing their host and then taking everything- their lives, their memories, their names, all for their own. But if a Gate can resist falling into complete despair at the last minute, they gain the ability to become a Mahoutsukai. Mahoutsukai use their abilities to fight against the Phantoms and enter a Gate’s Underworld, using one of these.” Marika held up a ring and handed it to Pierre. “An Engage Ring, which allows the Mahoutsukai to enter a Gate’s Underworld and defeat their inner Phantom. This in turn depletes their excess Mana, allowing them to live lives as a normal human. Did you get all of that?” “Uh...” “Where did I lose you?” “After you said ‘Every’, I’m afraid.” “You’re hopeless...” “So does that mean I’ll fall into despair and become a Phantom?” “For now, I wouldn’t say you would do that. I mean, what is your hope?” “Well...right now it’s to get to know you better.” “Eh?” “Like, are there more of you? You know, Mahoutsukais?” “Well, there’s the Shiroi Mahoutsukai, ones called Mages, an ancient Mahoutsukai, and then there’s-” Marika stopped herself from speaking before her eyes started to tear up. “Are you alright?” “Yeah...I’m fine...can you please leave?” “But Marika, I have so much to ask y-” “JUST LEAVE!” Pierre looked at her, saw her tears and could see the pain she was feeling. “I...I’m sorry...I’m gonna leave my card here...just in case you ever want to talk. I understand if you wouldn’t call me.” Pierre walked out the door as Marika collapsed in her bed and wept. ___ “Huh? What? Where am I?” Marika looked around to see a desolate wasteland. “Wait...Is this my Underworld? Why is it so-” Marika was interrupted when something crashed beside her. “Ma- Magisus?!?” Magica stared at her own Phantom, who was heavily wounded. The sky of her Underworld grew dark as Marika attempted to revive Magisus. *Marika, run!* “What? I can’t just leave you here! What’s going on?!” *It...it’s happening again!* As soon as she heard those words, Marika knew what Magisus meant- a group of large Phantoms charged towards her. “No, not again! HENSHIN!...Why can’t-” *Marika, this is YOUR Underworld, remember? You can’t transform here!* The Phantoms then dove right at her, colliding into her body as purple cracks spread all over her. “They...are...KYAAA!!!!!!” ___ “Wake up...wake up...” Marika opened her eyes to see her entire hotel room trashed; the windows were broken open, her bed in shreds, and her magic stones crushed. “Yoohoo, over here.” Marika turned to see a Phantom staring back at her, covered with straw and shreds all over it, with a large metal nail sticking out of its chest and through its back. “It’s a pleasure to meet the Gate who managed to spawn me and my friends.” “Why...why did I create Phantoms again?! I thought I was-” “Oh, you thought you were cured? Yeah, sorry, but no. Remembering what you did to your first love happened to make you have a nightmare which helped us escape. Ah, nothing like a little broken heart to send a young girl like yourself into despair. And I should know about hearts, I don’t even have one! And if I did, I’m pretty sure this large freakin’ nail in my chest would stab right through it.” “What do you want?” “What else do Phantoms want? To instill despair into anybody that we can spawn new Phantoms from. Now, let this Voodoo Phantom tell you a little something.” Leaping from where he was to land in front of her, the Voodoo Phantom stared at her with his blank eyes. “There are five of us that broke out. You have twenty-four hours to find out where they went, or else, we’ll go crazy and cause despair everywhere.” Marika clenched her hand into a fist and attempted to punch the Voodoo Phantom, only for him to flip her, causing her to crash into a wall. “Now, now, don’t get hostile, I haven’t finished explaining the rules yet.” “Rules?! Is this a game to you?!” The Voodoo Phantom smiled and grabbed Marika by the neck, lifting her off the ground. “OF COURSE IT’S A GAME! LIFE IS ONE BIG GAME!” The Voodoo Phantom reeled back a bit and coughed. “I’m sorry, that was...that seemed crazy didn’t it?...Oh, I’m still choking you, I’m sorry!” Dropping her, the Voodoo Phantom walked close to one of the holes in the wall. “Again, you have twenty four hours to find my fellow Phantoms, and me. Oh...and they are all over the world. Try and find them, Marika-chan. Kehehehehehe!” Laughing like a maniac, the Voodoo Phantom leapt out of the hole. Grasping her neck, Marika made her way to the desk in her hotel room, grasping the card that Pierre left. “Hello?” “Is this Pierre?” “Marika?! Are you okay? I heard that something happened at the hotel you were staying at!” “I...I’m fine. I’m sorry but... I gotta go, I can’t stay in Paris any lo-” “Go?! What do you mean go?! Marika, there is so much I have to ask y-” “Pierre, please, don’t get yourself involved with me okay? I fear that something could happen to you and I can’t let someone I met and told my life story to get hurt!” “Marika, I’m worried!” “Pierre, please. Promise me you won’t come to my hotel. Promise me.” “I...I promise.” Hanging up the phone, Marika slipped on a black, silver and red ring onto her left hand. “Henshin!” ~FLAME, PEGASUS. REKKA. REKKA. REKKA REKKA REKKA!~ Transforming into a crimson version of her Flame Style form with black hair, Magica jumped out the hole and climbed to the roof of the hotel. “Okay Magisus, we have one thing to do- find those other Phantoms. Can you sense them?” *I can, closest one seems to be in Pompeii, Italy.* “EH?! Italy?! How did it get that far so fast?!” *Well, you were passed out for several hours so-* “Ugh, I gotta get to Pompeii then,” Marika said, slipping on the Rapid Ring. ~RAPID, ONEGAI?~ Aiming her hand at her feet, Marika ran off the top, running along the clouds. Pierre happened to be passing by when he saw her, before looking down at his notebook. ___ POMPEII, ITALY. TIME LEFT: 21 HOURS, 45 MINUTES LEFT Marika followed Magisus’s instructions to find herself in the destroyed ruins. “So this is where the first Phantom is?” *Yes, keep on high alert, Marika. This one was the first one to break out of you as well.* Marika brought up her sword, and circled the grounds, peering around every corner. “Yo, Host-chan.” Hearing the voice, Marika swung her sword behind her to see a Phantom that resembled a humanoid goat, his horns curled and lit with flames. “I am Faun. Your first opponent.” “So each Phantom relates to one of the elements, huh?” “Yes, but I assure you that only I and the wind Phantom are in the location where our elements would be strongest. You do know what was here in Pompeii, right?” *Marika, look out! Dodge to your right!* Marika did what she was told and leapt, only to see a crater where she stood before. “What the?! Is that a-” “Yup, ball of magma. Under Mt. Vesuvius, I can control the magma itself within the volcano itself! So guess what girly, this is our battle field! And just to make it fair-” Faun rose his hand and pointed at Marika, who was suddenly hit with a magic circle. “Wha...what did you do to me?!” “I sealed you in that form. You can’t use any of your others unless you defeat me.” “Coward!” “Hey, this is a game. Anything goes!” Faun pointed at Marika and the volcano erupted, hitting Marika several times. *MARIKA!* “I’m on it!” ~DEFEND, ONEGAI?~ Holding her hand up high, a magical circle appeared above Marika and deflected the blast. Faun snapped his fingers and summoned magma, which he leapt onto and used to run towards Marika. ~CONNECT, ONEGAI?~ Summoning her sword just as Faun got to her, she blocked his attacks until he kicked her stomach. Reeling back, Marika found her helmet being grabbed as Faun kneed her in the jaw. Tossing her aside, Faun summoned magma to his hand, forming a blade. “Get up, the game is still going!” Faun looked at Marika, who laid motionless. “No way...did I kill her already? Eh, just to make sure!” Faun took his blade and stabbed through Marika, only to hear ~SUBSTITUTE, ONEGAI?~ “What?!” Faun yelled out in anger, seeing a large piece of coal where Marika once was. “Try and catch me!” Marika shouted out of sight. “Damn it...this is supposed to be my game! Where are you, you bitch?!” Faun looked down to see a trail of soot on the ground. Smirking, he laughed at the sight. “You really are foolish, aren’t you?! A labyrinth?! It doesn’t matter where you hide, I will find you!” Inside the labyrinth, Marika was holding her stomach in pain. *Marika, you need to use your mana wisely now, you’re close to producing another Phantom. Don’t overexert yourself.* “Got it. I think I have a plan to take him down.” “Take me down, huh?” Marika looked up in shock as Faun grabbed her neck. “I’ll take that,” he said, grasping her Substitute Ring. “Now, I can enjoy this!” “Hehehe...” “What are you laughing about?!” “Although I can’t change forms...I still can use my form rings!” ~COPY, ONEGAI?~ ~LEVITATE, ONEGAI?~ ~WATER, SLASH STRIKE. SUI SUI SUI, SUI SUI SUI~ “What?!” To Faun’s surprise, Marika had taken three of her rings and tossed them into the air, scanning each one on her sword, which doubled and became imbued with the power of water. Flying to Faun, the blades pierced him and pinned him to the wall. “You really should’ve been watching me closely. Now, it’s time to finish you!” Pulling out a silver and red ring with Magisus’s face, Marika scanned it and looked towards Faun. ~KAKKOII! UNIQUE. SUGOI!~ From her chest, Magisus’s head appeared as flames circled in her mouth. “Wait, no! You’re not supposed to beat me!” “Too late.” The flames erupted and blasted right at Faun, incinerating him completely. Falling to her knees, Marika returned to her civilian form. “Magisus...where...is...the next...one...” *I can’t sense it. We may have to return to France. There I will be able to trace where it is.* “But our time limit!” *If you switch to a different form after some rest, you can still make it on time.* “Okay...I just need to eat...good thing I brought this pack with us.” ___ POMPEII, ITALY. TIME LEFT: 19 HOURS, 50 MINUTES LEFT “Okay, I should be ready.” *I’d suggest using-* “Already on it! Henshin!” ~HURRICANE, PEGASUS. SHIPPU SHIPPU SHIPPU SHIPPU SHIPPU~ Transforming into an emerald green version of her Hurricane Style with a black ponytail, Marika looked to the sky. ~KAKKOII! UNIQUE. SUGOI!~ Sprouting Magisus’s wings, Marika put on the Rapid Ring again. ~RAPID, ONEGAI?~ Launching into the air Marika flew back to Paris and landed at the Louvre. “Marika!” “Pierre?! I thought I told you to-” “I know, I know, but, I couldn’t help but try to find you. Marika, please, let me help-” “NO!” Marika looked away from Pierre. “Magisus, where is the next Phantom?” *The path leads to Kenya, Africa.* “Then that’s where I’ll go.” Marika leapt into the air and flew off, leaving Pierre distraught on the ground. ___ KENYA, AFRICA. 16 HOURS, 26 MINUTES LEFT. Marika landed and looked around. *Be careful with this one, Marika. It’s night over here, which means your fight will be more dangerous.* “Of course. I got just the ring to help with that.” ~SHINE, ONEGAI?~ Raising her hand in the air, the ring illuminated everything around her. Right in front of her, she saw something moving around. “What is tha-” The thing she was staring at turned at looked at her with glowing eyes. It was at that moment she knew what she was looking at- whatever that thing was had just devoured part of a lioness. “What the?!” “Ah, so you’ve come at last, my host.” “You...you’re the Phantom I’m supposed to fight?” “Olitiau, at your service.” The Phantom stepped forward, and Marika saw what he really looked like- a large vampire bat like creature with blood red wings attaching her arms to her waist. In her jaws, chunks of lion meat were still stuck to her serrated teeth. “Oh, excuse me a moment, I seem to still have a mess on my face.” “Magisus...I...” *It’s okay Marika, you’ll be alright. This Phantom definitely is not like the last one. But don’t underestimate her.* Olitiau stared at Marika and smiled. “You do know the rules, right?” “You lock the Style that I use.” “Correct. Now, prepare yourself.” Olitiau opened her wings and flew straight at Marika. ~CONNECT, ONEGAI?~ Reaching for her sword, Marika swung forward and sliced at Olitiau. “Gotcha!” “That’s what you think.” Marika felt an immense, sharp pain in her arm as Olitiau bit straight down. “Mmm...you taste delicious!” Olitiau kept chomping harder, until Marika scanned a ring. ~KAKKOII! UNIQUE. SUGOI!~ Marika propelled herself into the air and spun around, loosening Olitiau’s grip. “Hehe, nice trick. But how much longer can you stay conscious?” “Long...enough.” Marika flew straight towards Olitiau as she did the same. Clashing in the air, the two were knocked away from each other, with Marika staying in the air and Olitiau crashing into a tree. “Hehehe...your blood tastes so delicious!” Olitiau said from the ground. Marika looked over at her arm- even though she had transformed, Olitiau’s jaws had bitten right through her, leaving her arm nearly numb and bleeding profusely. “You’re lucky I didn’t bite you with my venom...otherwise, you’d end up like them.” Marika looked around to see various animals getting closer...and the corpse of the lion get up. Staring at her, they flew into the air and began to attack her. “Making vampire animals is so much fun! But hey, look at this as a bonus level,” Olitiau said laughing. “Magisus, what do we got that can handle these things?” *Marika, if they are like her, their eyes might be sensitive to light!* “Got it! First I should use this!” ~SHINE, ONEGAI?~ The light from the ring caused the animals to cringe, as Marika took it off and inserted it into her sword. “Now!” ~HURRICANE PEGASUS, SLASH STRIKE. SHIPPU, SHIPPU. SHIPPU, SHIPPU~ Swinging her blade around, Marika cut through the animals one by one as they exploded in a ball of light. “My eyes!” Olitiau cried from the ground, shielding herself from the light. *Are you okay, Marika?* “My arm really hurts Magisus. Do we have a ring to help me heal?” *We left it back in Paris, I’m afraid. But Marika, you have to be careful, you’ve lost too much blood.* “Crap...I gotta be quick about this then..” Marika took her sword and switched it to its staff form, and plugged her Hurricane Ring into it. Scanning the Hurricane Pegasus ring on the hand of the staff, Marika aimed it at Olitiau. ~HURRICANE PEGASUS, SPELL STRIKE. SHIPPU, SHIPPU. SHIPPU, SHIPPU~ Olitiau regained her footing and flew at Marika. “Got ya!” yelled Marika as she scanned another ring with her belt. ~KAKKOII! TYPHOON. SUGOI!~ Olitiau found herself trapped in a magic circle as Marika flew around her. From her staff, a green energy blast hit Olitiau and pierced through her wings, causing her to fall from the sky. As she fell, Olitiau saw Marika spinning her staff in the air before holding it above her head. Throwing it like a javelin, the staff stabbed right through Olitiau, causing her to explode before she hit the ground. “Two...down... three...to...go...” *Marika, give me control for now, you need to rest. I’ll fly us back to Paris.* “O...Okay...” ___ PARIS, FRANCE. 13 HOURS LEFT. “Marika! Wake Up! Marika!” Marika jolted up and found herself in a room. “What...where...” Looking down at her arm and then around her, she found that the person who woke her up was Pierre. “I thought I told you to- Ow...” “Hey, don’t move around so much, you’re still pretty injured.” “Where am I, Pierre?” “My apartment. You suddenly landed back at your hotel where I saw you, but when you wouldn’t say a word, your transformation cancelled and I carried you here.” “How long have I been in Paris?” “Two hours.” “Oh no, I’m losing time! I have to-” “Hey, don’t strain yourself! Now, I know I shouldn’t have, but I went to your hotel and raided your room before the police showed up. I managed to get these.” Pierre reached behind his couch and took out a suitcase; inside were several magic stones and some of Marika’s rings. “Pierre...can you hand me that one, right there?” Pierre looked to where she was pointing and picked up the ring with a pegasus’s wings forming a heart. “This one?” “Yes.” ~REMEDY, ONEGAI?~ Pierre was surprised as Marika was bathed in a blinding pink light. “Your wounds!” “Yes, my arm’s all better. I’m sorry Pierre, but I need to go.” Marika picked up her rings and was about to head to the door when Pierre walked in front of her. “Marika, that injury...did Phantoms do it to you?” “...Yes. Now please move.” “Wait. Promise me, that whenever what you’re doing is over...you’ll come back here.” “Pierre, I-” “Promise me!” Marika could see the sincerity in his eyes and sighed. “Okay...I promise.” “Before you go, I got some info looking online. Apparently, monsters have appeared in the Amazon and in Sydney, Australia.” “So, one of those, I’ll head to next.” “Marika.” “Yes?” Pierre suddenly hugged her then let go. “Be careful.” “I...I...will...” ___ THE AMAZON RAINFOREST, 7 HOURS LEFT “Thanks to Pierre, now I can just head straight to where we need to go.” Marika looked around her surrounding, and found that she was next to the Amazon river. From across the way, she could see something charging straight towards her. “Okay, it’s time to go!” ~WATER, PEGASUS. AME AME KOUSUI, SHIKKE FURI!~ Transforming into a blue version of her Water Style, Marika ran across the water towards the thing running in her direction. Dodging piranhas and alligators, Marika made her way to the opposite shore. “Whoa...you looked smaller across the way.” Marika found herself face to face with a Phantom that had to be more than 6 feet tall, his single eye looking at her. “Why do I feel like something is breathing on me?” Marika looked down to see a gaping mouth where the Phantom’s stomach should be. “EWWWWWW!!!!!” “Name...is...Mapinguary. Game...set?” “Okay...bring it on!” Marika was just about to slip on her Connect Ring when Mapinguary smacked her aside. “No weapon. Fight with fist.” “A fist fight...how about this?!” ~KAKKOII! UNIQUE. SUGOI!~ Marika sprouted Magisus’s tail and used it to prop herself up as she kicked Mapinguary. “Got ya!” “No...Got...you.” To Marika’s surprise, Mapinguary had caught her foot with the mouth on his stomach. “EW!!!! Let go!” *Marika, bring him close to the water!* “Got it!” Marika used her tail to propel herself into the water, taking Mapinguary with her. “CAN’T...SWIM!!!” Marika stared at the Phantom as it tried to bring itself to the surface of the water. “Uh...you are the Water phantom I’m supposed to fight, right?” “No! Me...Earth!” “EHHH?!” *Well, this should be quick then.* Marika pulled out another ring and slipped it on. ~KAKKOII! FLOOD. SUGOI!~ Marika jumped out of the water and walked on its surface towards Mapinguary. Several pillars of water circled around her before surrounding Mapinguary in a bubble. Raising her hands, Marika clenched both of them into fists as the bubble imploded and crushed Mapinguary. “Well, that was faster than expected.” *Marika, it just occurred to me that you could’ve used your Teleport Ring this whole time to bring you to where you needed to be.* “WHAT?! WHY DIDN’T YOU SAY ANYTHING?!” *You didn’t ask.* “Ugh...well, guess I should switch forms before I go.” *Are you sure that’s a wise idea-* ~LAND, PEGASUS. JISHIN, JISHIN JISHIN, JISHIN, JISHN JISHIN JISHIN!~ Turning into a yellow version of her Land Style, Marika pulled out her Teleport Ring. “If this battle ends quickly, I will be able to find Voodoo and end this once and for all.” ~TELEPORT, ONEGAI?~ ___ SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA. 5 HOURS, 23 MINUTES LEFT. Marika found herself in front of the Sydney opera house. Turning around, she found herself surrounded by curious tourists who began to take her picture. “Wha- oh...um...cheese?” Marika said, posing for them. *Marika! We don’t have time for that!* “Oh, right! Sorry everybody, I need to go find a-” “MONSTER!!!” Marika turned in the direction of where the shout had come from, to see something eerie crawl out of a body of water. With a hound-like face and walrus-like tusks, the creature walked towards her. Its crocodile-like skin shimmered in the sunlight and its long mane flowed in the wind. What freaked Marika out the most...was its lack of eyes. That is, until it lifted its hands, revealing that its eyes were within its palms. With its snake-like tongue sticking out, it licked its tusks. “I’m the Bunyip Phantom. I commend you for making it this far. Now, to lock that form.” “Alright, I’m ready to-” Marika suddenly found herself strangled by Bunyip’s tail, as it clenched tight and dragged her to the water. Finding herself nearly 15 feet under, Marika managed to free herself. “Let the game begin!” Bunyip zoomed past Marika, hitting her with his tail before circling around her. Chomping on her left arm, Marika punched him in the snout to get him to let go. “I like your spunk. But watch this!” Bunyip zoomed up to her again and began to attack her on all sides. ~DEFEND, ONEGAI?~ Marika braced herself as underwater rocks surrounded her, blocking Bunyip from attacking. Just when she thought she was safe, Bunyip kicked right through her shield and propelled her away. *Marika, you have to think of something! If you don’t, you might meet your end here!* Marika nodded and was about to pull out another ring when Bunyip swam right up to here. “No no no no no. I can’t have you using your rings just yet. I need to have a little more fun.” Bunyip smirked and bit hard down on Marika’s shoulder. *MARIKA! Now!* ~KAKKOI! UNIQUE. SUGOI!~ Magisus’s hooves materialized on her hands, allowing Marika to punch Bunyip away. “Now we’re getting somewhere!” Bunyip kicked at Marika, who blocked with the hooves before returning her own kick. Bunyip anticipated the attack and snared her leg with his tail, pulling her into another kick. *Marika! Observe him! He must have a weakness!* Marika did as she was told and watched carefully. It was at that moment that he always paused before he moved. *That’s it, he uses echolocation to find where you are! Do you have any idea what to do?!* Marika nodded and ceased using the hooves, bringing out another ring. ~SHINE, ONEGAI?~ The bright light illuminated the water, causing Bunyip to flinch around. *I see, with his eyes in his palms, he can’t close his eyes, and the bright light will temporarily immobilize him!* Bunyip flailed around in the water when Marika pulled out another ring. ~ECHO, ONEGAI?~ From her belt, a loud noise erupted from her belt and echoed through the water. Bunyip began to thrash around as the sound appeared to get louder. *As I thought, he also has sensitive hearing. Marika, finish this!* ~KAKKOI! UNIQUE. SUGOI!~ Manifesting the hooves again, Marika began to punch Bunyip several times. *Marika, keep going!* ~KAKKOII! EARTHQUAKE. SUGOI!~ The entire ocean floor began to shake as underwater volcanoes began to erupt. Punching Bunyip repeatedly, Marika landed one last hit, causing him to fall into the path of the eruption. The impact created a large explosion, propelling Marika out of the water and onto the beach. *Are you okay, Marika?!* “Yeah...I’m fine...how are we on time?” *2 hours left, I’m afraid.* “Can you locate...Voodoo?” Marika waited for Magisus’s response until she heard a gasp. *MARIKA! WE HAVE TO HURRY TO FRANCE NOW!* “What? Why?!” *It’s Pierre! He’s-* ___ PARIS, FRANCE. 30 MINUTES LEFT. Marika ran straight to Pierre’s apartment. As soon as she got there, she found that he wasn’t there, but a note was on the table. “Eiffel Tower...quickly...” Marika dashed to the site, which was already surrounded by police officers and several civilians. Making her way through the crowd, she could see what was going on- dangling from the top of the tower was Pierre, tied up unconscious. “PIERRE! Magisus, we need to get up there!” *Marika, use Teleport!* ~TELEPORT, ONEGAI?~ The crowd were surprised to see her vanish in a pillar of light and appear at the top. “Pierre, hold on, I’ll help you do-” Marika was suddenly kicked aside, almost falling of the edge. “Kehehehe...well isn’t this a surprise!” Marika got back on her feet and stared at Voodoo; her gaze was so intense that the Phantom actually started to back away. “Ahem...did you know why those Phantoms manifested?” “Cause I was falling into despair again.” “Non, not just that my dear host. Think about it. Didn’t you find it odd that they all went those specific locations?” “What do you mean?” “Oh come on, you’ve been traveling for over a year helping people around the world. The lost boy in Pompeii. The starving girl in Kenya. The drowning child in the Amazon. The blind man in Sydney. The reason you manifest Phantoms, is cause you take on all the despair of those you help! You become their hope! So guess what girly, that despair has to go somewhere!” “So...what you’re saying is...” “That’s right. If you didn’t help this guy out, I would’ve become his Phantom. But it seems there is something else giving him hope.” “Ma...Marika...” “Pierre! Are you okay?!” “Transform, girly. Do it. If you want him to be safe.” Marika looked down at Pierre and sighed, slipping on a ring. “You’re gonna lock my form, right?” “But of course! Wouldn’t make the game interesting if I didn’t.” “Then here I go...HENSHIN!” ~INFINITY, ONEGAI! HI SUI FU DO REKKA AME SHIPPU JISHIN...MAHOU!~ With a long silver coat and a tiara on her Magica-style like helmet, Marika held her hand up high as Magisus began to circle her, turning into a large broadsword. “Bring it on, Phantom!” “If you insist.” Voodoo disappeared from his spot in a flash of light, and appeared in front of Marika. Punching her chest, Voodoo then punched her face until she swung her sword, hitting his side. “Oooh, bad choice, girl.” Marika suddenly felt a sharp pain in her side, when Voodoo suddenly touched his own face and slapped it. Even though he was the one that got hit, Marika was sent flying back. “Wha...what’s...going on...” “You forgot how I introduced myself. The name is Voodoo, remember?” Pierre regained complete consciousness at that moment, and began to move around. “Marika! Leave her alone, you freak!” “Kehehehehe...so now you’re awake, the real fun can begin!” Voodoo grabbed onto the rope that held Pierre and swung him onto the top with him. “Now, remember how I said that something else gave him hope?” Marika was breathing heavily, trying to get back on her feet. “Wha...what of it...” “It’s you.” “...What?” Pierre attempted to run to Marika when Voodoo backhanded him. “Pierre!” “And to think. He is so close to despair right now. And all he needs...is for me...” “What are you doing?!” “Quiet boy, this will be over in just a second,” Voodoo said smirking, taking out a hammer. “Pierre! I...” “Now...say...” “Pierre!” “Goodbye.” Slamming the hammer on the spike of his chest, Voodoo began laughing maniacally as Marika collapsed. “Hey...Marika. This isn’t funny.” Pierre walked over to her while Voodoo laughed. “Marika. Wake up. Hey.” At that moment, her transformation canceled, and Pierre could see what was going on- right where her heart was supposed to be, was a gaping hole and her face was covered in blood. “Hey...Marika...this can’t be...Come on...wake up...” “Kehehehehe....isn’t it funny? Your hope was to have her heart...and now you never will!” “Hey...wake up...please...” Voodoo looked at Pierre, whose face began to be covered in purple cracks. “Yes...Fall into despair!” Pierre looked at Marika as the cracks began to grew, but then grabbed something and put it on his hand. ~ERROR~ “Come on...it worked before!” ~ERROR~ ~ERROR~ ~ERROR~ “Come on, please, work!” ~ERROR~ ~ERROR~ “What do you think you’re doing, boy?” ~ERROR~ ~ERROR~ ~ERROR~ “Please! Marika!” ~ERROR~ ~ERROR~ The cracks fully spreading throughout his body, Pierre tried to scan the ring on Marika’s belt one more time. “MARIKA!” ___ ___ ___ ~REMEDY, ONEGAI?~ Marika’s body was covered in a pink light, as Pierre’s body began to fix itself. The purple cracks glowed a bright gold, before sealing again. “No...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!” “Guess that makes me a Mahoutsukai now.” Pierre looked at Marika, who was fully healed, but still unconscious. “Please, wake up now. Come on.” “YOU!” Voodoo grabbed Pierre by his neck and walked over to the edge of the Eiffel Tower. “You ruined my plans! DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE?!...Well it doesn’t matter now. As soon as I get rid of you, I’ll get rid of her!” ~INFINITY, ONEGAI!~ Voodoo froze in place and turned slowly. “No...” ~HI SUI FU DO~ “THIS CAN’T BE!” ~REKKA AME SHIPPU JISHIN...~ “NO!!!” ~MAHOU!~ Marika pierced through Voodoo and swung his body to the side, catching Pierre. “Are you okay, Pierre?” “Yes...Marika...I’m so glad you’re...alright...” Marika wiped his tears and set him down. “Here, put this on.” Marika slipped the Teleport Ring onto Pierre’s finger. “I promise, I’ll be back when this is all over. For now, please, stay away from here.” “Wait, Marika-” ~TELEPORT, ONEGAI?~ Pierre disappeared in a flash of light as Marika held the MagiSabre in hand. “Ready to end this Magisus?” *Ready!* “DAMN YOU!!!” “Saa...Watashi No Showtime Daa!” Voodoo held his hammer in hand and charged towards Marika. ~CONNECT, ONEGAI?~ Pulling her Magica Staff in Sword mode out of the magic circle, she sliced right through Voodoo. Voodoo recovered and put his body back together as he attempted to attack again. Hitting her armor with his hammer, he was surprised that the attacks did nothing. The impact of the attacks actually caused Voodoo to take damage instead. “What?! Why isn’t my power working?!” “You talk too much.” Marika slashed at him and kicked him back. “Now, let’s see how you handle this!” Marika tossed her Magica Staff aside, and pressed the red part of the MagiSabre’s pentagon symbol. To her left, Flame Style and Flame Pegasus materialized. Pressing the blue part caused Water Style and Water Pegasus to appear on her right. After pressing the green part, Hurricane Style and Hurricane Pegasus materialized above her. After pressing the yellow symbol, Land Style and Land Pegasus materialized right in front of her. “Time to close the curtains on this show!” The four Elemental Styles circled Voodoo, creating a pillar of elemental magic. From each of their palms, they blasted Voodoo with their respective element. The four Pegasus forms proceeded to hit Voodoo with their respective parts of Magisus before converging into Flame Pegasus with all of her parts, kicking Voodoo off the side of the Eiffel Tower. “Damn you!” “It’s not over yet. Here’s the show stopper!” Grabbing the MagiSabre, Marika pressed the pink part of the pentagon. ~MAGITRICK!~ Spinning the MagiSabre around, Marika jumped off the building with each of her other forms following her. As she got closer to Voodoo, she swung her sword, releasing a pink energy slash that took the form of her Magica Style. Kicking Voodoo, he began to fall to the ground faster as the Styles and Pegasus forms combined with Marika, giving her Infinity Style Magisus’s parts. Surrounded by elemental manifestations by Magisus, they attacked Voodoo one by one before Marika delivered the finishing kick. “NO!! THE GAME ISN’T OVER!!!!” Voodoo erupted in a sea of flames as Marika flew back to the top of the tower. “Marika!” Cancelling her transformation, Marika turned to see Pierre run towards her before he gave her a big hug. “Let go, baka!!!” Pushing him off, Marika looked at him in surprise. “Wait...how did you get up here?” “Well, you lent me your ring, and somehow, I can use it!” “Give it back!” Marika snatched the ring and put it in her pocket. “Marika...since this is over...there’s something I wanna ask you...” “Wha...what is it, Pierre?” “I...I...” Marika was stunned to see a shadow loom over her and Pierre. “I told you...the game isn’t over!!!” “Voodoo!” Marika picked her Magica Staff off the ground and held it tight. “What’s this...I detect a great source of power...this might be useful...Kehehehehe...I’ll be back Marika, and this time, I’ll bring a game changer!” Marika and Pierre were stunned when a dark portal opened up and Voodoo stepped through it. “Hey, come back here!” *Marika, I know where he went!* “Where did he go, Magisus?” *Apparently...Canada.* “Oh, I see...EH?!?!” KAMEN RIDER MAGICA: THE RESONANT PHANTOMS END

Kamen Rider Xtreme: The Illusion of Power Alex and Sampson stood in the middle of a cemetery in front of a single grave. Alex knelt down in front of it and laid a bouquet of flowers on the ground in front of the grave. Alex sighed, “So, this is it?” “Yes,” Sampson returned, “Although, since her body was never found, it's more of a memorial than an actual grave. Even so, it's better than nothing after all.” “I see,” Alex said with sorrow in his voice, “guess you have a point.” He looked down at a bit of text carved into the lower portion of the grave, “In memory of Alice Darwin... a noble heart, and a caring mother.” he read off quietly. “I find it rather sad,” Sampson proclaimed, “to think that someone's life can be summed up in a mere seven words. Sure, maybe there are some that can, but your mother was more then that. Be sure that you remember that Alex... and remember her.” “Sampson,” Alex got up on to his feet and turned to face Sampson, “Thank you, for bringing me out here... and, for everything. I don't think I'd still be here if it wasn't for your help.” Sampson smiled, “You really are your mother's child.” Alex tilted his head to the side, “I thought that was obvious...” “Well, it's just that you remind me so much of her,” Sampson stated, “Back when I gave you the case containing that device you now wear around your waist, I knew that whatever the contents was that you would use it to the best of your ability. Even though that was the very first time the two of us had actually met face to face.” “How did you know that?” Alex asked. Sampson placed his hand on Alex's shoulder, “Because of the look in your eye, it was the same as hers.” Alex and Sampson walked out the front gate of the cemetery where a black car was waiting. “You need a ride anywhere?” Sampson asked. “No thanks, there's something I've been meaning to check out neer by,” Alex stated, “I should be able to get there on my own.” “Okay,” Sampson returned as he opened the door to the black car, “Just be careful, alright?” “I think I can handle it,” Alex chuckled. “Just making sure,” Sampson smirked as he hopped into the driver's seat shutting the car door and rolling down the window, “All I meant was to take it easy.” “Alright, I'll be sure to do that,” Alex said. “Good,” Sampson returned turning over the key in the ignition as the engine roared over the two of them, “I should get going now, take care.” “Yeah, you too,” Alex waved as Sampson drove off the curb and down the road soon fading into the heavy traffic. After Sampson disappeared, Alex took a quick look at his watch, “Oh crap, that can't be the time!” --- Marcoh sat at his desk reading over a file of recent reports. As he turned the page the phone began to ring. “Ardent City Police Department,” He said answering the phone, “Ghosts?... Sorry, this is the police, not a paranormal investigation agency.” He slammed the phone down on the receiver and returned to his reports, “Kids today.” --- Alex ran through two rows of glass doors leading into a large three story mall. He walked down the main lobby until he reached the balcony near the center of the complex.“Let's see...” He said as he surveyed the different levels, “Second floor.” He ran up a flight of stairs a few feet away from him until he reached the second floor of the mall. Without looking, he dashed down the block of stores to the right. “Man they better still have-” He thought to himself before slamming into something hard and fell onto the ground. He rubbed his head a bit, “What th-” “Ow...” He heard a quiet voice call out. Alex looked to see what he ran into to only to notice Madison on the ground right across from him holding a bag filled with several small packages that had been spilled across the ground. “Oh crap, I'm sorry,” Alex said grabbing a few of the packs and handing them to Madison, while Madison fumbled trying to grab all the stuff that fell out of her bag. “No, it's my fault sorry,” Madison returned as she grabbed the small package, accidentally brushing her fingers against the side of Alex's hand. She looked up and noticed who it was standing over her, her face turning a bright shade of red, “... GAAAH!” She screamed as grabbed all the items that spilled onto the ground and shoved them back into her bag as she jumped onto her feet, “A-Alex... what uh... what are you doing here?” She asked whipping dust off the legs of her pants. Alex stood silent for a second before responding, “I was... just looking around... for, stuff.” His eyes were then drawn to the bag Madison was holding, “So... what's in the bag?” Madison crossed her arms bringing the bag close to her chest, “Nothing!” Alex blinked for a second, “... Okay, never mind.” Madison looked around surveying the area for a moment. Alex raised an eyebrow, “You on the run or something?” Madison grabbed Alex by the wrist, “Come with me.” “Hey, wait a-” Alex protested before being pulled off down the stairs he had just hiked up. In a few short moments, Madison pulled Alex down several flights of stairs until they reached the ground floor of the mall. Madison then dove over to a small white bench on the side of the staircase and planted Alex on one side as she landed on the other. “Now, I'm showing you this in confidence so you better not tell anyone, alright?” She instructed as reached into her bag. Alex sat in silence for a moment trying to make sense of what just happened, “Yeah, okay I got it.” “Great,” Madison exclaimed, “Now then, I had been saving up for this one with it being the big twenty and boy did it take it's sweet time getting up here.” “I see...” Alex said, “What exactly are you talking about?” “This!” Madison shoved a small carded package into Alex's face. Alex grabbed the box and took a closer look, he read off the flowing “Power Rangers Megaforce, Yellow Ranger...” “I also picked up the new Black Ranger since he and yellow are the 'couple' this season and...” Madison sighed as she reached into her bag. She paused for a second before pulling out a nothing carded package with a small figure of a completely different design, “Robo Knight.” “Is there something wrong with him or something?” Alex asked. “Well, he looks cool and everything but...” Madison paused for a second as she took in a deep breathe, “What the hell kind of name is Robo Kngiht?! Why not just call him Mega Knight or something like that? Hell, just slap 'Gosei' on him like everything else in the damn line!” She sighed as she placed the box on the bench, “... you can laugh at me now.” Alex sat confused for a moment, “Why would I?” “Because it's childish and stupid,” Madison said hanging her head, “Sarah keeps telling me that I need to grow up and 'act my age'... Kind of thinking she may have a point.” “So what,” Alex stated, “if you like something then why stop? Just go for it, and not give a damn about what other people say.” Madison sat silent, “Oh, that reminds me,” She said as she reached into her bag and pulled out a small black box, “I found this a while back thinking they reminded me of the soul gems in Madoka,” She said opening the box revealing a large purple gemstone, “I thought it was something from an up and coming magical girl anime or something like that but after searching the internet for forty-seven straight hours I realized I was wrong.” “Well...” Alex stared at the stone for a good long while, “Though it does look kind of cool.” Madison sighed, “You want it? I've run out of run on my shelf.” “Sure, I'll take it off your hands,” Alex said reaching for the box. As Alex reached for the box his fingers met with Madison's. Madison jumped back a bit. “Something wrong?” Alex asked as he slipped the box into his pocket. “Uh... no... um, I-I mean,” She said as she began to blush a bit. She paused and took in a deep breathe they exhaled, “Listen. There's something I've been meaning to ask you. It's a little serious so bear with me for a moment.” Alex sat up straight, “Alright, what is it?” Madison gulped. “Um... Alex, would you-” “AAAAHHHHHH!” Many voices shrieked from the other side of the ground floor of the mall as many people swarmed over to the exit. “Hold that thought,” Alex said as he jumped up from the bench. Madison reached out to grab Alex's arm but stopped before she made contact with him “Oh... right.” “Now get out of here alright,” Alex said as he ran off into and disappeared into the crowd. Madison sighed as she leaned back against the wall. --- Alex shuffled through the crowd until he came to a clearing. He surveyed the area as he quickly discovered scorch marks covering the walls and bits of the floor.“Scorch marks?... So it's a fire base,” He thought to himself pulling out the Blast and Diver memories as his driver materialized around his waist. He then placed the two memories into the appropriate slots on the device. “Blast! Diver!” Alex's driver called out as the Blast Diver armor formed around him and the Corona Blaster formed in his hand. “Now then, where are you?” He said as he surveyed his surroundings. As Alex looked around, a ball of fire whipped across the left side his face. He quickly evaded, turned and aimed his blaster in the direction the ball came from. As he turned around, his eyes became fixed on a black figure engulfed in crimson fire from head to toe. Alex stood in awe and lowered his blaster, “... F-Flame?” “What's the matter boy?” The figure cackled, “It's seems as though you've seen a ghost.” “But, I defeated you, how are you-” Alex said before being smacked with a fire ball and thrown across the hall into a pile of ruble. Flame then walked over to him and pressed his foot against Alex's chest, “You talk too much.” Alex grabbed Flame's foot and tried to lift it off him as he gasped for air. Flame smirked, “Pathetic.” In a mere instant Flame pressed down harder on Alex and kicked him across hallway sending him flying into a large fountain not far from where he and Madison were sitting not too long ago. Alex limped back onto his feet and held his blaster at the ready, “I've defeated you once before Flame, and I can do it again just as easily.” As he spoke, the water that was contained in the fountain that Alex was standing in began to shift around on it's own. “Hm?” Alex said noticing the movement in the water. Before Alex could react, the water around him rose up and encircled him. Alex held up his blaster and went to hold down the trigger but soon discovered that hand wasn't responding. In less than a second, his grip on his blaster loosened all on it's own and he dropped it into the current. “You may have been able to beat Flame, but you couldn't beat me,” A voice cackled in the current as Alex's joints tightened up and was unable to move them. “Who is that!” Alex shouted. “Is that anyway to treat a lady?” The a dark hand marked with a silver arrow slithered onto Alex's left shoulder. Alex gasped, “Shift!” The dark figure clenched it's hand as Alex's jaw pressed shut, “Great to know I'm still fresh in your memory darling,” Shift cackled as her head appeared through Alex's right shoulder, “But unfortunately you have them for very much longer,” She proclaimed as she phased her arm through Alex's shoulder and straight through to the center of Alex's chest until she reached his driver. She caressed the Diver memory and smirked, “How lovely for you to use a water based memory before encountering me. You sure know how to charm a girl,” She cackled before removing the memory from it's slot on Alex's driver, “I'll be taking this now sweetie,” as she held the memory in her grasp her eyes became fixed on the Blast memory in the other slot on Alex's driver, “Oh, and I shall be taking this one as well,” She said as she ripped out the Blast memory from it's slot, “Ta,” Shift said before she vanished into the current. As soon as Shift disappeared, Alex's armor quickly dissolved into the current and the pillar of water began to fall apart. As the pillar fell, Alex felt a slight tug on his hair while he was swept to the ground below. Alex slowly crawled out of the fountain and coughed out a good portion of water onto the floor of the mall. “Alex!” He heard call out to him. Alex surveyed the area to find that Shift and Flame had vanished almost as quickly as the had appeared. He clenched his fists tightly. “Alex, are you alright?” Madison asked as she ran up to him. “Yeah, I'm fine,” He said looking over to see Madison looming over him, “Didn't I tell you to get out of here?” “Yes,” She said pulling Alex out of the fountain, “but I couldn't just leave you.” “That's pretty stubborn you know,” Alex returned as he grabbed Madison's hand and lifted himself out of the water. Madison grinned, “Then I guess I'm just stubborn.” “I can see that,” Alex said walking off towards the exit. Madison quickly chased after him, “Wait, where are you going?” Alex tightened his fists, “To figure out what's going on.” --- At the police station, Alex and Madison sat across from Sampson at his desk, Marcoh standing at Sampson's side.“So your saying that Flame and Shift, two dopants that you previously defeated, have somehow managed to reappear?” Sampson asked. “Yes,” Alex returned. “And one of them managed to swipe two of your memories after an ambush?” Marcoh added. Alex hung his head, “Yes.” “That explains the various ghost reports I've been getting,” Marcoh proclaimed. “Ghost reports?” Sampson asked raising an eyebrow, “You've been getting ghost reports?... and you didn't say anything about them?” “I wrote them off as prank calls, or just whacked out teenagers,” Marcoh stated, “I didn't think they were legit so I didn't take them seriously.” “Seriously Marcoh?” Sampson said planting his face in his hand, “We've encountered a blood thirsty humanoid cat, a guy engulfed in fire that can make anything combust in an instant, a thief that can phase through solid matter and manipulate water at will and a serrated psycho killer... and you wrote off a ghost report as a prank without going into any further investigation?” Madison shrugged, “He's got a point.” “Did I ask you to speak Ms. Tyler?” Marcoh asked glaring at Madison. Madison blinked a couple times, “No... it's just... I mean... um...” Marcoh sighed, “What exactly are you doing here anyway?” “Well... I'm a witness,” Madison tilted her head, “... aren't I?” “You are,” Marcoh stated, “But you're still a civilian.” Madison pointed at Alex whacking him in the face in the process, “I know Alex is Kamen Rider... That's got to count for something.” “Getting back to the matter at hand,” Sampson interrupted, “It doesn't matter how these past foes are returning, what matters is why and how we should handle them.” “I've got it!” Madison exclaimed with a snap. She reached into her bag and pulled out what appeared to be a DVD case, “Right here!” Marcoh and Sampson sat silent. After a few awkward minutes, Sampson spoke up, “A children's TV show?” “Not just any TV show,” Madison shouted pointing to the top of the case, “This is the complete second season of MMPR which just so happens to contain one of my favorite episodes of all time entitled 'Zedd's Monster Mash' in which he revives a six monsters that the rangers had previously defeated and sends them down for a rematch along side one brand new one named Doomstone! I know it was mostly stock footage spliced together from previous episodes with very little new footage but by Godoka it was still awesome seeing past monsters again!” “Uh huh,” Sampson said quietly, “Point being?” “My point is this,” Madison slammed the case down hard on Sampson's desk, “Whenever past monsters come back there is always someone behind it and it's usually the big bad of the series with some big plan that they're about to reveal and want's to make sure that it goes according to plan,” She said sitting back down with a prideful grin, “... That or the writers just slapped something together because they were under a time constraint and didn't have the time to create a new monster for the heroes to fight.” “So you're saying that a third party is most likely involved in this?” Marcoh asked. “E yup,” Madison returned, “Come to think of it, depending on how quickly you track the guy down you could find out where his boss is hiding then you could take him down as well. Man, wouldn't that be a short series, wouldn't even have enough time for a team-up episode.” Marcoh grunted, “As nice as that sounds, the real world isn't the same as the ones in cartoons.” Madison's eyes widened a bit, “MMPR isn't a cartoon, it's toku.” “Is there really a difference?” Marcoh retorted. Madison raised her hand and took in a deep breathe. Marcoh then glared at her with one raised eyebrow, and Madison dropped her hand down to her side, “never mind.” “Getting back on topic,” Sampson said clearing his throat, “it would be in our best interest to-” He was interrupted by the ringing of the phone on his desk. In a mere instant Sampson swiped the phone of the receiver and held it up to his ear, “Ardent City Police Department... uh huh... uh huh... I see... Alright, we'll get right on it,” He hung up the phone and grinned a bit, “Well, isn't that fortunate.” “What did they say?” Marcoh asked. “They called to report man covered in serrated metal with three large blades on the ends of his hands,” Sampson said leaning back in his chair, “Sound familiar at all?” Alex jumped out his seat, “Where is he?” “Downtown, around Davenforth... not far from where you encountered the other two,” Sampson verified, “You're going I take it?” “Do you need to ask?” Alex retorted. Sampson paused for a second, “I... guess not.” Alex smirked, “Great.” He dashed over to the door of Sampson's office and bolted into the hallway. Madison jumped up, “Wait.” Alex stopped in the doorway and looked directly at Madison. “About what I mentioned a while ago... that thing I need to ask you,” Madison began to blush a bit, “I'll ask you when you get back... okay?” “Yeah, got 'cha,” Alex said quickly before disappearing behind the frame of the door. Madison stood frozen with a big grin on her face. After a few moments she looked over to find Marcoh and Sampson staring at her. Madison blinked a few times, “... what?” “Nothing,” the two officers said in unison looking away from her. Madison raised an eyebrow, “... uh huh...” --- “The hell happened here?” He whispered under the smoke filled air. At that moment, a loud screech filled the air and began to grow louder as if it were coming towards Alex. He looked in the direction of the sound to see a car hurling towards him. Alex quickly evaded as the car smashed into the side of a building and burst into flames. “Still as agile as ever I see,” A voice cackled. Alex looked in the direction that the car came from to see a being made of metal emerged from a cloud of smoke. “So it is Shredder after all,” Alex said as he pulled out the Blade and Kicker memories from his back pocket and his driver materialized around his waist. “However, speed can only get you so far,”Shredder snarled as Alex placed his two memories into their respective slots in the driver. “Blade! Kicker!” Alex's driver called out as his Blade Kicker armor formed around him and the Bla-Jalibur materialized in his hand. Shredder smirked, “Eager are w-” Before Shredder could finish speaking, Alex had already dashed over to him and swung his blade at Shredder. Shredder instantly parried with his left set of blades and began forcing Alex back with Alex pushing back with the same amount of force. Shredder broke the parry and pushed Alex back a few feet, “Didn't your mother ever teach you that it's rude to interrupt people while they're speaking to you?” As soon as Shredder said that, Alex rammed himself into Shredder and pinned him against a building. “Your memory was destroy,” Alex said pressing his sword against Shredder's neck, “How were you able to reclaim it?” Shredder laughed softly. Alex brought his sword back and prepared to swing down on Shredder, “Answer me damn it!”As Alex swung his sword at Shredder, his arm came to an abrupt halt. Alex's eyes widened behind his mask, “what?” “I would appreciate it if you didn't harm my comrade thank you very much,” A voice called out from behind Alex. Alex looked over his shoulder to see Shift and Flame standing along side a dark hooded figure in a long dark robe, “Who... what are you?” “So glad you ask dear child,” The hooded figure cackled, “I am the Master Dopant.” Alex grunted, “Master?” “Yes,” The figure confirmed, “Every gaia memory that has ever been is under my direct control... and any that are destroyed I can recreate with ease... Speaking of, Shredder would you mind?” “Yes Master,” Shredder returned as he yanked out the Blade and Kicker memories from Alex's driver as Alex's rider form shattered to pieces, “Here,” He shouted as he threw the two memories over to Master. Master caught the memories with one quick motion and caressed them with his fingers, “Lovely... Though one would have to wonder how such powerful memories came into your possession in the first place,” He slid the memories into the folds of his sleeves, “Oh well, how you got them is irrelevant, so long as they're mine now... Anyway, Shredder you may do away with him as you like. Then check to see if he as any other memories lying around his corpse.” Shredder nodded, “Yes master.” Shredder grabbed Alex by his neck and raised left set of blades into the air preparing to slash Alex to bits. As he was about to strike he began to tremble, with each passing second his shaking became even more violent. After a few moments the blades on Shredder's wrists came undone and fell to the ground, turning to dust upon contact. Not long after Shredder followed suit and began to fall apart until he was nothing but dust and Alex fell to the ground. “What?” Master gawked in horror at what just unfolded in front of him. “Master... I feel strange,” Shift said clenching her chest before ultimately melting into a pile of dust on the ground and flame's fire instantly went out and he soon turned to dust. Alex watched on the ground as Master panicked and ran off into the ruined part of the city. Not long after, a dark shadow appeared over Alex. “Sorry, but I had a good reason for not jumping in sooner. I imagine you must be quite some pain at the moment,” The shadow placed a hand over Alex's face as his eye began to close, “don't worry, you'll be fine... just sleep for now, alright?” --- Alex awoke looking up at an old and unfamiliar ceiling. He felt around to learn that he was lying on an old dusty coach. He slowly sat up to find a blanket that had been wrapped around him.He looked around the room, “Where... am I?” The room he was currently inhabiting was cluttered with various antiques. A glass coffee table sat a few feet away from him and similar brown coach was directly on the other side. “Oh good,” A voice called out, “you're awake.” Alex turned to see a chipper middle aged man with silver hair clad in emerald green standing in the middle of a door way. In his hands he carried a trey that held two china cups filled with some kind of tea with steam rising from the tops. “I was beginning to worry,” The man said with a smile as he entered the room and drew closer to Alex. “Who are you, and what am I doing here,” Alex demanded as the man sat down on the coach opposite Alex and placed the trey he was carrying on the coffee table, “Where is here anyway?” “There will be time for that later,” The man handed Alex one of the two cups, “Here, you must be thirty.” “Are you working for Master?” Alex said with an intense glare. “Master?,” The man asked, “Sorry, the only master I work for is myself. Anyway, your tea will get cold if you don't drink it.” “I'm don't really like tea all that much,” Alex stated. “Oh, I see,” The man said placing the cup down, “I guess you could say that it's not your cup of tea.” “Quit messing around,” Alex slammed his hands down on the coffee table, “Who are you?” “Oh, of course, where are my manors?” The man said with a smirk as he reached into his pocket, “My name is Joel Revant,” He pulled his hand out of his pocket and placed it onto the coffee table, “Though my former colleagues referred to my as...” He slowly removed his hand to reveal a golden gaia memory marked with a stylized 'I' “Inertia.” Alex jumped to his feet nearly losing his balance and tripping over his feet a bit and catching himself on the arm of the couch. “Relax, I'm not like the others,” Joel said taking a sip of his tea, “At least not anymore.” Alex sat back down, “How exactly would you be different?” “Well for one I saved your life,” Joel smirked, “Kamen Rider.” “So you know who I am, so what?” Alex growled. “I know many things,” Joel said placing his cup down and folding his hand together, “Like how you're power has been more than halved after that Dopant stole four of your six gaia memories... But even so, there are still others out there that are far more powerful then you are, and the memories you possess.” Alex raised an eyebrow, “How do you know that?” “Well, put simply,” He grunted, “I created them.” “You what?!” Alex exclaimed. “Calm down,” Joel said raising his hand to Alex, “What I mean is, myself along with three others did. Let me explain. While on an archeological exhibition, the four of us found a temple, inside were scriptures that told of four warriors that carried with them the power of the elements of wind, earth, ice and fire and each one of them obtained their power through a gaia memory that was given to them by a great spirit that maintained that element.” “Seriously?” Alex asked, “You expect me to believe that?” “Well, neither did we at the time,” Joel explained, “but that's not important at the moment, because you see at hidden deep within the temple were two relics and two of the gaia memories that the warriors in the scriptures. Those were the first gaia memories that any of us had ever seen, and upon our discovery we formed the group known as META. The next step after that would be to transport the memories to further analyze them, however during the transport we lost one and were unable to reclaim it.” Alex sighed, “So, the other three are still out there somewhere?” “That would be my guess,” Joel smirked, “Anyway, when we were able to analyze the memory we had further, we discovered that it was a highly mechanical device and could be replicated.” “So you tried making your own, right?” Alex asked. “Exactly,” Joel confirmed, “However, our first attempt didn't exactly workout so well. We tried copying the memory we had to the letter, unfortunately for us though it turned out to be a dud and wouldn't work. However, once we attempted to start from scratch, and only mimic the basic structure, our efforts turned out successfully. The four of us knew that this was fated to be, and thus we deemed our first fully functioning gaia memory as... Fata.” Alex's eyes widened, “You mean...” “Yes,” Joel returned, “Kamen Rider Fata, the rider before you, was one of the founding members of META... the organization which you now face. She certainly was a strong one.” “So, then were did the dopants come from?” Alex asked. Dopants?” Joel asked, “Oh, you must be referring to the people who use a gaia memory without a filter correct?” Alex raised an eyebrow, “Filter?” “During the experimentation process, we discovered that overtime the memories begin to corrupt the user and that without aid, they would eventually wear down the user until they were merely a shell of their former self,” Joel explained, “To prevent that from happening, we engineered a device known as a driver to filter out the negative energy that was produced by the memory. However, there were still a few that got out to the public, these created what you call 'dopants' like the one you encountered earlier today.” “and Fata?” Alex asked. “She was tasked with tracking down and disposing of the memories that got lose acting as an agent of our organization,” Joel stated, “making her the first rider as well as technically the first dopant,” Joel sighed, “But that was all long ago, and I've long since retired... ever since Fata met her untimely end.” Alex stared down at the floor, “Stop.” “Hm?” Joel said raising an eyebrow. “Please,” Alex stood up, “just stop talking.” he slowly walked over to the door way, “I don't want to hear anymore of this. “Flame, Shift and Shredder,” Joel said. “What?” Alex asked turning to Joel. “Those were the dopants that you said attacked you right?” Joel proclaimed, “Well, you should know that Flame was the name of our first attempt at making a gaia memory, though why that it I can't be certain... Also, once a memory is destroyed there is no way to recreate. Therefore, that Master dopant is not what it claims to be.” “I don't care,” Alex said as he disappeared behind the doorway. “Your bike is right outside in front of the shop,” Joel said as he heard the front door open and slam shut. He sighed, “Well, at least you can't blame me for trying...” He looked over to a photograph on a small desk on the other side of the room, “right Alice?” --- Alex walked out the front of the shop as he saw his bike sitting right where Joel said it would be. He hopped on his bike drove off the curb and on to the road.He sighed, “Damn it, I have enough to deal with.” At that moment Alex found himself forced off his bike and into the wall of a building not far from the road. He felt a hand grab his throat and tighten it's grip, “There you are you little prick!” Alex looked in front of him to see the same dopant from before glaring at him through a skull shaped mask. “Man,” Alex gasped kicking the dopant off of him sending him back as his driver materialized around his waist, “I am not in the mood for this right now!” He pulled out the Star and Runner memories and placed them into his driver. “Henshin!” Alex shouted as he split the slots of the driver apart. “Star! Runner!” Called out as Alex's Star Runner armor formed around him. Alex ran his fingers along the silver 'x' that adorned his mask in the shape of a gun until flicking his hand of the side of his left shoulder, “I'll make this quick.” The dopant chuckled, “You shall try.” Alex dashed at the dopant and threw a punch square in his face, he then proceeded into an axe jumping roundhouse knocking the dopant to the ground. “Insolent fool,” the dopant snarled, “You should know to respect your master!” “You know you can give up the sherade already,” Alex cracked his knuckles, “I already know that you can't really revive gaia memories. Once they're gone they're gone for good.” “Are you sure about that?” The dopant snarled. Alex glared at him, “Yeah I'm-” “BANG!” A gunshot sounded from behind as a bullet skimmed the surface of Alex's armor. Alex turned around to see what appeared to be his Blast Diver form standing behind him. Before Alex could blink he felt the sharp end of a blade press against his neck as saw Blade Kicker standing right beside him with his blade pressed against Alex. “Still doubt my power?” the dopant cackled as he got back on his feet, “As you can see, not even your memories are free from my control!” “Well, you definitely have some power... However, there is one thing that bugs me, ”Alex smirked under his mask, “Those shots that Blast Diver fired, how come they were normal bullets?” “What do you mean 'normal bullets'?” The dopant demanded. “What I mean is that Blast's shots vary depending on which memory its accompanied by and when paired with Diver it supposed to fire a high powered blast of water,” Alex explained, “But you couldn't have known that, seeing as how you never saw Blast fire a single shot.” The dopant began to shake, “And what exactly does that mean?” Alex turned to the dopant, “It means that whatever power you do have, it's not that of a master.” “Exactly,” A voice called out. Alex and the dopant looked to the source of the voice to find the silver haired Joel Revant standing not far away from them. The dopant stood in awe, “I... Inertia? But I thought-” “That I was dead?” Joel asked, “Well, that was the idea. Though I prefer to think of it as 'early retirement'. Funny how the dopant that forces me out of it is one with a memory that had the exact same initial as my own.” “Same initial?... as in 'i'?” Alex asked, “and what would that be?” “It's a rather old one, but one of my finest creations,” Joel stated, “I'm rather proud that it's survived this long really... though I'm saddened that it has gotten into the hands of such a lowly worm. My finest masterpiece... Illusion.” “Loathsome cur! I am Master!” The dopant exclaimed, “Don't mock my power, all your memories are mine to control!” “Then why did your henchmen turn to dust?” Joel smirked, “My Inertia memory allows me to sapped my opponents of all the energy they need to function. If they were truly revived memories then there would have been a gaia memory at their and a host at their core. But all that was left was dust... nothing else.” “Well... um...” The Illusion dopant stumbled, “Blade Kicker, Blast Diver! You handle them!” He said dashing into an alleyway as Blade Kicker and Blast Diver blocked his escape. “You go after Illusion,” Joel said stepping up to Illusion's servants, “They're only imitations, they won't get past me.” Alex looked at Joel for a moment, “Um... aren't you a little... old for this?” “I might be old,” Joel took out old a rusty looking buckle along with his Inertia memory and slapped the buckle on his waist as a belt wrapped around his waist, “but I can still pull it off. Now getting going.” “Right,” Alex said as he chased after Illusion down the alley. “Now then...” Joel smirked as he hit the button on his gaia memory. “Inertia!” The memory called out as he connected it to the center of his buckle as demonic faded white armor with a deep blue trim formed around him. He raised his hand in a taunting motion, “Come at me... if you dare.” --- Alex ran down the alleyway until he caught up with Illusion who had reached a dead end. “No where left to run,” Alex said cracking his knuckles. “Who says I plan to run?” Illusion cackled. “Well then,” Alex removed the Star memory from his driver and placed it into the maximum drive slot on the side of his belt, “Your rampage ends here!” Alex let the memory charge up before hitting the button on the side of the slot. “Star! Maximum Drive!” The memory called out as Alex jumped into the air and proceeded into a kicking position. “Xtreme Star Storm!” Alex shouted as he kicked the Illusion dopant square in the chest causing him to explode into a ball of fire. Alex landed on the other side of the defeated dopant, “Glad... that's over...” He panted as he stood up and removed the two memories from his driver and his armor faded away. As he tried to catch his breathe four memories fell from the sky and landed on the ground infront of him. He looked them to see that they were infact the four that were taken from him earlier, he then proceeded to pick them up and place them into his pocket “Glad to have you back guys.” As he picked up the memories he felt an immense pain emerge from his chest around where he had hit Illusion. He soon noticed blood running down his arm, “But... I didn't even get hit... so how?” “HAHAHA!” He heard a voice cackle, “You are a fool aren't you? To believe the incredible power that I sense was in the possession of such a pathetic worm.” Alex looked over to see a dark figure emerge from the flames, “Who... what are you? How am I bleeding?” “I... am Voodoo,” The figure smirked, “and those memories weren't the only thing that I stole from you,” He pulled out a few strands of hair, “Or perhaps you forgot about that small tug on your hair a little while ago.” “I would love to stay and chat but I've obtained what I came here for," Voodoo said holding to Illusion memory up to Alex as a small portal opened up behind him, "Now then, I'm meeting up with an old friend soon,” He stepped through the portal as it began to close, “farewell... Kamen Rider.” “Get back here!” Alex charged through the portal after Voodoo. The portal them quickly closed behind them. Taisen Zeta: Magic and Memory Alex charged through the portal unsure of where it would lead him. Alex stepped through to the other side as he feet hit a stone surface. He surveyed his new surroundings. “Hey, this is the roof of West Ardent... but what are we doing here of all places?” he thought as the portal closed behind him. “Hehehe,” A voice cackled. Alex turned around to see the ragged figure with the nail in his chest kneeling perched on a ledge just above him. “Aw, looks like you found me already,” Voodoo cackled. He jumped down from the ledge and began to aproach Alex. “No worries though, for the game is far from over.” “TELEPORT, ONEGAI?” A voice called out as a blinding pink light emerged between Alex and Voodoo. The light then quickly faded to reveal Marika in her civilian form standing between them. “I was wondering when you would arrive,” Voodoo smirked, “Kamen Rider, Magica.” “Kamen Rider?” Alex whispered to himself, “You mean-” “What? You honestly didn't think you were the only one out there did you?” Voodoo laughed. “Not like it matters, because you'll both be dead soon anyway.” “Crap, this isn't good,” Alex thought to himself. He grabbed Marika by her shoulder and turned her to face him, “Hey girl, whoever you are how do we stop this guy?” Marika starred at him, “... Nani?” Alex blinked, “Huh?” *Rōkaru to omowa reru,* Magisus called out. *Kore wa mondai kamo shirenai.* “Sore wa hontōda...” Marika said resting her chin on her right hand and proping her left arm up with her left. She then snapped her fingers. “Da sore,” She said pulling out a ring and slipping it on Alex's finger before bringing it to her driver. “TRANSLATE, ONEGAI?” Marika's driver called out as she closed her eyes and took in a deep breathe. She then exhaled as she reopened her eyes. She smirked, “There, that's better isn't it?” Alex's jaw dropped, “HUH!” “I'll explain later,” Marika said turning back to Voodoo, “right now we have bigger problems.” “Uh...” Alex said unable to say a word. “You're a Kamen Rider right?” Marika asked. “Uh, well... sort of, I guess,” Alex said awkwardly. Marika sighed, “What's your name?” “Uh, Alex... Darwin,” Alex returned. “Well then, Kamen Rider Darwin,” Marika removing the ring she had on her left hand and replacing it with her default Magica ring, “Mind giving me a hand here?” Alex nodded. “Of course,” he said pulling out his Star and Runner memories. The two riders turned to Voodoo as Marika flipped the lever on her belt. “SHABADOOBIE TOUCH TO HENSHIN? SHABADOOBIE TOUCH TO HENSHIN?” Marika's driver shouted repeatedly. “Henshin!” The two shouted as Alex slammed his two memories into his driver and Marika placed her left hand in front of her's. “Star! Runner! MAGICA, ONEGAI? MAHOU, MAHOU, MAHOU SHOUJO! ” Thier drivers called out as the two were engulfed by a blinding light. When the light faded, the two stood in their respective default forms, Alex striking his regular stance and Marika slipping a ring on her right finger. “Alright,” Alex said calmly, “let's-” Before Alex could finish talking Marika placed her right hand over her driver,“Connect, ONEGAI?” Marika's driver called out as a magic circle opened up beside her. She reached into it and pulled forth her staff, automatically switching it to it's sword mode before dashing over to Voodoo blade in hand. Alex stood for a moment, “... Go.” He shrugged, before running into the battle himself. Marika swung her sword at Voodoo, the phantom quickly blocking it with his forearm. “Why do you insist on keeping this up?” Voodoo smirked, “No matter how hard your strike is, you'll only harm yourself in the process.” “Like that matters,” Marika returned putting more weight on her sword forcing Voodoo slightly back, She broke off from Voodoo and took a few steps back. “No matter how great the pain is, it's nothing compared to the damage you've inflicted on others.” She said, slipping her Magica ring off her finger and replacing it with her Flame Pegasus ring. She placed her left hand over her driver, “FLAME, PEGASUS! REKKA. REKKA. REKKA REKKA REKKA!” Marika's driver called out as her a ring of fire passed over her as she switched from her Magica form to her Flame Pegasus form. “Well then... have it your way.” Voodoo smirked. “Hold it!” Alex shouted stepping in between Marika and Voodoo. “We can't fight here.” “Why not?” Marika asked. *This location must hold some form of importance to him,* Magisus estimated, *He must not want any severe damage to befall upon it.* “You could say that,” Alex said with a slight chuckle. “Hmm, I see,” Marika said. “Well then, I guess a more isolated location would be more appropriate... we wouldn't have the risk of civilian causalities that way. But where is the question.” “If it's a change of arena you want,” Voodoo said raising his hand to the air, “you simply need to ask.” He snapped his finger as their surroundings quickly changed from the school roof to an empty rock quarry. Alex looked around frantically, “Great, where are we now?” “A scene all to familiar to Magica and her kin,” Voodoo cackled, “But I guess you should count yourselves lucky. So long as you're here, no one will be able to hear your screams when you die!” “Unfortunately for you, here we don't have to hold back,” Alex shouted. Voodoo smirked, “Well then...” he pulled out the Illusion memory from the folds in his rags, “neither do I.” Voodoo said with a smirk, “however-” He raised his arm into the air and snapped his fingers causing seven dark blobs to emerge from his robe and spread out behind him,“- I am afraid the game if far from over. So for the time being you'll just have to deal with these as your opponents. You need not to worry though, I shall be overseeing your demise from atop this quarry,” He said before vanishing into a vale of pale violet shadows. “Try not to die... too fast.” The seven blobs shifted around until the formed into figures that seemed somehow familiar to the riders. Once the muck cleared from them, it was clear as to what they were as from left to right stood Faun, Flame, Bunyip, Shift, Mapinguary, Shredder and Olitiau. The phantoms and dopants that the two riders had fought only mere hours ago were seemingly brought back for another road against the two. As soon as they materialized Faun and Flame threw a combined blast of fire and magma at the two riders. In one quick motion, Marika switched the ring she had on her right hand with another, grabbed Alex by his right shoulder and brought her hand to the front of her driver. “DEFEND, ONEGAI?” Marika's driver shouted as a big wall of stone shot up from the growed blocking the blast from hitting the two. Alex rested against the wall with his right hand as a support. “How many times... do I have... to fight these guys?” he panted placing his left hand on his shoudler. “Get used to it,” Marika sighed, “bringing back the past seems to be his thing.” “How many of those do you have anyway?” Alex asked. “Enough,” Marika returned. “I see... I'd say that's a good number to have Magica...” Alex said examining the the many rings on her belt. “Wait a minute,” he pulled out the white box that Madison had given to him earlier and held it in front of Marika opening it to reveal the violet stone that it contained, “would this help at all?” *A magic stone?* Magisus called out as Marika laid eyes on the stone. Marika grabbed the stone from Alex, “Where did you get this?” She asked examining it thoroughly. Alex shrugged, “Friend gave it to me.” “Well, your friend must have insanely good luck. I'd hang onto them if I were you,” She said placing the ring back into the box. “It's a rather rare one too, I've only heard of one other like it.” *If it could be made into a ring, it would certainly help in this fight,* Magisis proclaimed. *But how exactly would we be able to do that?* “I've got it,” Marika said taking the stone and carving something into the top of the box with one of it's sharp edges. She quickly replaced her defend ring with another from the chain on her belt and placed it in front of her driver. “CONNECT! ONEGAI?” Marika's driver called out as a small magic circle opened up in front of her. She then threw the box into the circle as it closed behind it. “Where did you send that stone to?” Alex asked. “You've got your friends and I've got mine,” Marika said with a smirk. “Well, alright then,” Alex returned. “So, what's the plan?” “We'll take out the elemental pairs first, then we'll handle the remaining three,” Marika explained. “Just one quick thing first though,” She said as she pulled a ring from the chain on her belt with her right hand and extended her right to Alex, “give me your hand.” Alex gave his right hand to Marika, “Uh... alright.” Marika slid the ring onto Alex's finger and brought his hand to her driver. “REMEDY, ONEGAI?” Marika's driver called out as Alex was bathed in a pink light. “There, that should fix that shoulder up nicely.” Marika said removing the ring from Alex's hand and clipping it back onto it's place on the chain. “I noticed it when I grabbed you earlier, Voodoo must have really done a number on you didn't he?” “You could say that,” Alex said rubbing his shoulder, “Oh well, that's not important at the moment.” “You're right,” Marika said looking over the barrier to see the phantoms and dopants closing in on them. “looks like they're getting closer huh?” Alex asked. “you ready?” Marika returned looking back to Alex. Alex nodded, “Alright, let's do this.” At that moment the two riders jumped out from their cover from opposite sides and dashed towards the herd. “Marika!” Alex shouted. Marika nodded as she swapped the ring on her right hand with another and brought it to her driver. “SLAP, ONEGAI?” Her driver shouted as a two pink hands made of energy formed beside Bunyip and Shift proceeded to bat the enemies to either side of them away from them. “Alex!” Mairka shouted to Alex “Got it!” Alex shouted back pulling the Runner memory from it's slot on his driver and placing it into the maximum drive slot. “Runner! Maximum Drive!” “Runner Xtreme!” Alex shouted as he began to pick up an insane amount of speed and dash over to Shift and Bunyip. After passing the two he turned back and began to run circles around them creating a giant tornado lifting them up into the air. “Now!” “Right!” Marika called out as she switched her Slap ring with her Unique ring and swiped her right hand over her driver. “UNIQUE, SUGOI!” Marika's driver called out as Magisus's head formed on Marika's chest and flames began to form in her mouth. In a single moment the flames shot out of Magisus's mouth and propelled up to Bunyip and Shift engulfing them in fire. As the smoke cleared a few charred remains fell to the ground before they reverted back to the muck they were made from and sunk into the ground. “First water, next fire,”Marika stated as she slipped her Flame Pegasus ring from her finger and replaced it with Water Pegasus as Alex removed the Star and Runner memories from his driver and replaced them with Blast Diver. Marika swiped her hand over her driver as Alex split apart the two slots on his “Blast! Diver! WATER, PEGASUS! AME AME KOUSUI, SHIKKE FURI!” Their drivers shouted as Alex switched from his Star Runner form to Blast Diver and a circle of water rushed over Marika switching her armor to her Water Pegasus form. Alex and Marika regrouped as Faun and Flame began hurling magma and fire balls at the two of them. As they hurled towards them Marika switched the ring on her right hand from Unique to Flood and swiped it over her driver. “KAKKOII! FLOOD, SUGOI!” Marika's driver called out as several pillars of water sprouted from the ground around her and Alex and circled around them acting as a shield against the blasts. “At this range we wont be able to land a single hit,” Marika stated. Alex examined the flow of water and the way that Marika was controlling. “What's the extent of your control on these pillars exactly?” “I can pretty much bend it to however I see fit,” Marika explained, “why do you ask?” “I have an idea,” Alex said as he jumped into one of the pillars behind Marika. “Oh, I see... that's almost crazy enough to work,” Marika stated as she made a small gap in the wall of water being careful enough not to leave herself exposed before hurling the one that Alex was in towards Flame and Faun. As Alex hurled towards Flame and Faun in the pillar of water he removed the Blast memory from his driver and placed it into the slot on the top of his Corona Blaster. “Blast! Maximum Drive!” The Blast memory called out as a charge up noise began to errupt from the Corona Blaster. “Xtreme Depth Charge!” Alex shouted as he pulled back on the trigger as four torpedoes shot out of the barrel of his blaster, two of them going after either Faun or Flame as the pillar of water dropped on them along with the torpedoes causing the two to explode on impact. After Faun and Flame were dealt with, Marika pulled the pillar Alex was inhabiting back to the cluster as the others sunk back into the ground. “Four down,” Marika said as the two turned back to see Mapinguary, Shredder and Olitiau approaching them, “three to go.” “Any further ideas?” Alex asked. “Same as before,” Marika returned, “go for each element with it's opposite. Go with wind for earth and earth for wind.” “What about steel?” Alex asked. “Steel?” Marika asked back turning to Alex. “Shredder is steel based,” Alex explained, “is there a form to counter that?” “Steel is a mineral that comes from the earth, therefor wind is it's opposite,” Marika proclaimed replacing the Water Pegasus ring on her finger with Hurricane Pegasus. “Works for me,” Alex said as he swapped out the Blast and Diver memories with Blade and Kicker and reset his driver. “Blade! Kicker! HURRICANE, PEGASUS! SHIPPU SHIPPU SHIPPU SHIPPU SHIPPU!” Their drivers called out as Alex's form switched from Blast Diver to Blade Kicker and the Bla-Jalibur materialized in his hand while a green tornado in the shape of a ring rushed over Marika switching her from Water Pegasus to Hurricane Pegasus. Marika then replaced her Flood ring with Typhoon and swiped it over her driver. “KAKKOII! TYPHOON, SUGOI!” Marika's driver called out as a giant storm of winds formed around Mapinguary and Shredder and carried them over to were the two riders stood. As the storm drew closer, Alex removed the Blade memory from his driver and placed it into the maximum drive slot in the guard of the Bla-Jalibur. “Blade! Maximum Drive!” The Blade memory called out as yet another charge up noise errupted from the memory. The storm past over Alex and Marika the two riders gripped their swords as they both swung two blows each on Mapinguary and Shredder slicing them instantly in half shortly before exploding into dust. As the typhoon died down, the smoke cleared to reveal that only Olitiau remained. “I'll handle her,” Marika said as she walked up to Olitiau replacing the her rings with Land Pegasus and Earthquake and swiping her left hand over her driver. “LAND, PEGASUS! JISHIN, JISHIN JISHIN, JISHIN, JISHN JISHIN JISHIN!” Marica's driver shouted as a circle of rocks ran over her switching her style from Hurricane Pegasus to Land Pegasus. Within moments, she stood face to face with Olitiau. Olitiau flapped her wings and lifted herself into the air. Olitiau dove down and struck Marika with her claws which Marika quickly blocked as Olitiau returned to the air. This process repeated about three more times until Olitiau dove down one last time, as Olitiau drew closer Marika grabbed her by her wing and swiped her right hand over her driver. “KAKKOII! EARTHQUAKE, SUGOI!” Marika's driver shouted as she balled her free hand into a fist and proceeded to swing Olitiau around and punch her square in the face before letting her fall down to the ground. As she hit the ground Olitiau began to shake on the ground as cracks formed all over her body. Within a few moments she burst into pieces before turning back into dust. “Well done you two, well down,” A voice cackled as a slow a applause filled the air. The two riders turned around to see Voodoo standing behind them. “I guess it's time for the final event then,-” Marika said as she removed the ring on her left finger and pulled out a golden gauntlet before slapping it to her forearm, “-let's say we turn up the heat a little.” “Wait, what's that?” Alex asked pointing to the gauntlet on Marika's wrist. “The SpellBinder,” Marika stated, “it has the ability to take the power of multiple rings and merge them into one. You can think of it like your driver, only with three instead of two.” Marika explained as she removed her Flame Pegasus ring and unclipped her Flame Dragon and Flame Titan rings from the chain on her belt and placed them into their corresponding slots on the gauntlet. With a quick motion, Marika swiped the gauntlet in front of her driver causing it to call out “DRAGON! PEGASUS! TITAN! THE ORIGIN, ULTIMATE!” as Marika was engulfed in a pillar of fire. When the fire cleared, Marika stood in what looked like her Flame Pegasus style form only it was somehow different. It looked a lot like a knight with jagged and spiky armor with a slightly more elegant looking witch hat adorning the top of her helmet. Voodoo halted, “Well... that's a new one.” “This game of yours has gone on for long enough Voodoo!” Marika shouted as she began to charge at Voodoo but quickly stopped dead in her tracks. “What's going on? Why can't I move?” “There a problem Mari?” Voodoo, “You look like you're a little bit... stuck.” “Damn it Voo-” Alex shouted attempting to move forward but found himself unable to move as well, “doo...” Voodoo cackled as a black figure began to rise up from the ground, “Oh my, it appears you may have missed one.” “Shift,” Alex gasped. “Well you two, looks like it's game over,” Voodoo said snapping his fingers, “Shift, be a dear and do away with them will you.” Shift raised her arms straightening out as she walked Alex and Marika next to each other and turned them to face her and her master before bringing the two riders to their knees. “I never could beat Shift,” Alex sighed. “So, in other words?” Marika asked. “We're boned,” Alex returned. Just then, a portal opened up above Shift as an unknown person flew through it kicking Shift down to the ground. The two riders sat silently in awe for a moment, “... or not.” The person then stumbled a bit as he stepped off of Shift, “Woah woah woah woah...” He said awkwardly regaining his footing, “okay so the teleporting could use some work.” Marika then quickly recognized the person who now stood between her and Voodoo, “... Pierre?” He turned to Marika, “Miss me?” Marika ran up to Pierre and slapped him across his face, “Baka! What do you think you're doing in a place like this?” “Ow!” Pierre said rubbing where Marika had hit him, “I came in response to your message!” “Aw, isn't this sweet? The gang is all back together,” Voodoo said with a slow applause, “Sad that your reunion will be short lived.” “Shut your mouth!” Alex shouted stepping forward, “I don't know what the hell you are, but frankly I don't exactly care. A while ago I made a vow to protect the city where I live and the people in it. Though now I realize that it's not just my city that needs to be protected, it's any place where people have lived and created memories with the people that they care about. So long as there is a place where people live their lives, I cannot allow someone like you to step on those memories. That is what it means to be a true Kamen Rider.” “A true Kamen Rider?” Voodoo laughed, “Please, spare me from your heroic nonsense. What's the point in getting sentimental over the most trivial things? It's just pointless if you ask me.” He raised his right hand and snapped his fingers, “Now then, let's end this game once and for all.” At the snap of his finger the remains of the fallen phantoms and dopants began to come together in the center of the quarry. The remains began to piece themselves together into a brand new creature. It was a large grey beast with several red eyes along with three rows of razor sharp fangs. On it's back was a pair of large bat wings and it's claws looked to be as sharp as a blade of the highest craftsmanship. “Behold riders, the herald of your demise!” Voodoo proclaimed gesturing to his new creation. “I think I shall call him, Ragnarok.” “I'd just call it ugly,” Pierre retorted. “Function over form was the intention,” Voodoo returned, “Have fun.” He added before leaping up to the top of the quarry. “Marika! Pierre shouted, “I'll handle this thing. You and your... friend, go take care of Voodoo.” “Are you crazy?” Marika returned. “Nope,” Pierre said as he pulled out a driver with a similar design to Marika's, “I'm a Mahoutsukai, remember?” Pierre slapped the driver onto his waist as it let out a small chime signaling it's activation. Once it was securely fastened, he slipped a ring with an yellow golden gem stone and a white frame onto to his right hand before swiping it over his driver. “INVOCATEUR, S'il vous plaît! ÉVO. ÉVO. ÉVO ÉVOLUER!” Pierre's driver shouted as a golden magic circle passed over him. As the ring passed over him, it transformed him from his civilian form to that of a white sorcerer with large shoulder armor that were held to his suit by two silver chains that ran down each side of his chest and around to his back. He wore a long white cloak along with tall mage hat adorning his the top of his helmet, and in his hand he held a short white staff. Pierre turned to Marika, “You think this is hot, don't you?” “Gah,” Marika jumped before looking away from Pierre, “Shut up!” “Alright,” Pierre said with a grin, “just be sure to give Voodoo an extra hit for me okay.” Marika nodded, “Just be careful.” “I will,” Pierre returned. “Alright, Alex let's go,” Marika said grabbing Alex by the wrist and bringing him in close to her. She then replaced the Typhoon ring on her finger with Rapid, “Hold on tight alright.” “Wait why?” Alex asked. Before he could get a response however, Marika swiped the ring over her driver. “RAPID, ONEGAI?” Marika's driver shouted as Marika proceeded to shoot upward to the top of the quarry, Alex holding on to her for dear life. In a few short seconds the two landed at the top where Voodoo was awaiting them. Alex slowly let go of Marika and wobbled off to the side before regaining his balance. He pointed a finger at Marika, “... Never do that again.” “I hope Pierre will be alright,” Marika said looking down to Pierre and the newly born Ragnarok. “Oh, I wouldn't worry about him,” Voodoo said reaching for one of the threads of string that helf his mouth together, “I'd worry about yourselves.” “What are you up to this time Voodoo?” Marika demanded. “Oh... you'll find out soon enough.” He undid them one by one. He tilted his head back and held the memory above the void of his mouth as a long snake like tongue emerged from it grabbing the memory and pulling it into the void. The phantom gulped swallowing the memory whole. “If you thought this game was difficult before...” Voodoo smirked as cracks of violet light began to form on his body, “you're going to wish I had killed you earlier.” At that moment, the cracks grew into a blinding light that quickly engulfed Voodoo. When the light cleared, Voodoo's appearance had changed from that of a withered doll to what resembled a warlock in a deep violet hooded robe adorned with jet black raven feathers and cracked pale white skulls along his chest and from the void of his hood could be seen nothing but two fiery red eyes glaring back at the two riders. “Wh... what did you do Voodoo!” The two riders demanded. “Voodoo...” he cackled, “... I do find that name to be rather unfitting to me now. I think I'd rather go with... Murasaki Mahoutsukai.” “It doesn't matter what you change your name to,” Alex cracking his knuckles, “because we're still going to kick your ass for what you've done.” “I'd like to see you try,” the newly reborn Murasaki Mahoutsukai growled. “Now then, come at me if you dare!” Back in the valley of the quarry, Pierre stood staff in hand as Ragnarok simply snarled back at him. Pierre then swiped his left hand over his staff. “UNE!” His staff called out as it extended from the bottom seeming to double in size. Pierre stretched his right leg out behind him preparing to charge forward and gripped his staff with both of his hands, “... Showtime.” “HOLD IT!” A female voice shouted as a large blade flew from out of nowhere and struck the ground between Pierre and Ragnarok. Pierre looked up to where the blade came from to see a rider glad in bright yellow armor that resembled the form of a bird descend from the sky and touch down next to the blade. Pierre starred at yellow rider in confusing, “uh... who are-” “We live in sad times,” the rider interrupted, “monsters rampage throughout the world and the people despair.” She grabbed the blade and attached it to the back of her belt where she kept two others of a similar design. “But you need no longer fear...” She said as she rose to her feet and pointed towards the heavens, “The Mighty Gale, is here!” She turned back to face Pierre. Pierre waved to the rider, “hey.” “Oh, this your prey?” the yellow rider asked pointing back to Ragnarok. “Uh... yes?” Pierre returned. “Oh, alright,” The yellow rider said as she reached for the three blades on the back of her belt and unclipped them unfolding them along a chain into some form of flail weapon. “How's about we take this ugly son of bitch down together then Lover Boy?” Pierre shrugged, “Works for me.” Gale swung her flail over should, “Great, now let's break this guy!” Ragnarok swung at the two riders with his claws, the two riders just barely evading them as they jumped to the left of them. Gale quickly recovered and swung her flail over her head a couple times before swinging it forward causing it to wrap around Ragnarok's legs. Ragnarok attempted to break the chain by spreading his legs apart but Gale simply tightened the chain causing the blades to dig in deeper to his skin. “Lover Boy! Finisher!” Gale shouted to Pierre. Pierre swiped his hand over his staff yet again, “DEUX!” His staff called out as Pierre pulled it apart into two halves before charging towards Ragnarok's legs. As Pierre drew closer to him, Ragnarok began to flap his wings gaining altitude. “Uh oh,” Gale said to herself as her feet began to slide out from under her. As Ragnarok became airbourn the chain was ripped out of Gale's hands. “Lover Boy!” She shouted pulling of a device from her wrist as it changed into a glider before throwing it Pierre, “Take this one for me!” Pierre jumped on top of the glider and rode it up to meet Ragnarok before jumping off the glider onto the beast's back stabbing into Ragnarok's leg with the ends of his staff to avoid falling off. He scaled the beast until her reaching the top of his back. Pierre snapped his staff back together and swiped his hand over it one last time, “TROIS!” His staff shouted as one large blade and two smaller ones flipped out of the top of the staff giving it the form of a trident. Pierre swung his staff around to his backside and leapt up into the air until he was a few feet above Ragnarok who looked up to him and opened his mouth wide as if he planned to swallow Pierre whole. Pierre swung his staff back around and proceeded to thrust his staff downward as he descended back down to Ragnarok. With in seconds, he struck down on Ragnarok's forehead bringing him down to the ground causing him to explode into violet flames on impact. As the smoke cleared, Pierre reverted his staff back to it's original state. “Thanks for the...” he said looking around for Gale but she was nowhere to be found, “... help.” Back at the top of the quarry, Alex and Marika were still in the heat of battle with Murasaki Mahoutsukai who wasn't showing any signs of weakening. Surely at this point even if it was all just a game, he was playing for keeps. Marika had been fire spell after spell at him but they didn't even seem to phase him in the slightest. Alex wasn't fairing much better, after trying multiple memory combinations he had been reverted back to his default Star Runner form. Murasaki Mahoutsukai threw both of them to the ground next to each other. “Damn... I thought this guy... was bad enough... already...” Alex panted trying to get back on his feet. “Marika... you... alright?” “Believe me... I've been through worse,” Marika returned. “Alright then,” Alex said as the two rose to the feet for one final stand, “let's end this then.” “You two really are a joy you know that?” Murasaki Mahoutsukai said awaiting the riders' next move, “Makes me feel a little emotional that our time together is almost up.” He raised his right arm to the two riders as a pulsing dark orb of violet energy began to form in the palm of his hand. “Oh well, I'll get over it.” “TELEPORT, REFLÉTER, S'il vous plaît!” An electronic voice called out as a portal opened up between the two riders and Murasaki Mahoutsukai. “FLAME, PEGASUS! WATER, PEGASUS! HURRICANE, PEGASUS! LAND, PEGASUS!” the voice called out again as copies of each of Marika's Pegasus forms dashed out of the portal and surrounded Murasaki Mahoutsukai. “You know, you really do talk too much,” Pierre said as he stepped through the portal as it closed behind him. “Glad to see you're alright,” Marika said with a sigh of relief. “I could say the same about you two,” Pierre returned. “Now then,” he reached for the chain on his belt and pulled off two rings, “you might need these.” Marika took the rings from Pierre. One bore a violet gemstone in the center with a frame that resembled her other form rings, the other was marked with a large X with a small three on the side of it. “Are these...?” “What I was able to make from that stone you sent me,” Pierre explained, “use them well.” Marika nodded, “I will.” She removed the SpellBinder from her forearm and slipped the form ring onto her finger in it's place before bringing it up to the buckle of her driver. “SHOWTIME! SUBARASHI!” Marika's driver called out as five pegasi made of light with alternating colours of red, blue, green, light and white emerged from the ground where she stood and began to circle around her before merging into one and casting a blinding ray of light down onto Marika. “Maji ka!? Majide!? Majida! SHOWTIME!” Marika's driver shouted as the crimson red of her Ultimate Flame form was replaced by a bright and undiluted white with a golden trim and long golden hair flowed from her helmet that was now adorned by a violet mask and a gold tiara. “Woah,” Alex said in awe of Marika's new form. Marika drew from her belt a long golden blade of light as the copies of her Pegasus forms fell back into a line between the three riders and Murasaki Mahoutsukai. Marika then threw two hard strikes of her blade down upon Murasaki Mahoutsukai where he stood until he lay flat on the ground. “Murasaki Mahoutsukai, the crimes that you have commited are unforgivable,” Marika proclaimed as she slipped the other ring that Pierre had given her over her finger on her right hand, “and now your twisted game comes to an end here.” Marika then swipped the ring over her driver. “Xtreme Devision!” Her driver shouted as a ball of light shot out of the driver and into Alex splitting him into his three base forms, “Star! Runner! Blade! Kicker! Blast! Diver!” “What am I on?” Alex said gawking at the copies of himself that stood beside him. “Really?” Pierre said turning to Alex, “You've seen all sorts of things today and you being split into threes is the weird thing about all this?” “Touche,” Alex returned. “Will you to knock it off for the moment?” Marika said interrupting Alex and Pierre's exchange. “Now, let's end this.” She added as she replaced the Xtreme Division ring from her finger with her Exodus ring. Alex and Pierre nodded to Marika as each of Alex's forms pulled out their primary memories from their slots on their respective drivers and into to each of their maximum drive slots as Marika swiped her Exodus ring over her driver while Pierre readied his staff as the copies of Marika each readied themselves for the final blow. “UNE! DEUX! TRIOS! UNIQUE! FLOOD! TYPHOON! EARTHQUAKE! Star, Maximum Drive! Blade, Maximum Drive! Blast, Maximum Drive! FINAL EXODUS!” Shouted the devices of all the riders as they charged up each of their finishers. “Xtreme Memory Storm!” Alex shouted as the barrage of attacks fired of along with Marika's cloak flowing wide open as thousands of blades fired out of it and into Murasaki Mahoutsukai who was engulfed in a massive explosion leaving nothing left of the phantom. As the smoke cleared, the three undid their transformations and reverted back to their civilain forms, the clones faded as the did so. When their masks faded away, Alex gave a small smirk to Marika, she shortly returning it. Marika removed her rings from her fingers and placed them back onto the chain on her belt. “Hey, where did it go?” Marika shouted noticing an empty loop on the chain. “Huh?” Alex asked turning to Marika. “The Division ring,” Marika stated, “I can't find it.” Alex turned his gaze to the holster where Marika kept her rings, “Maybe you dropped it somewhere. As to be around here somewhere.” As Alex spoke, he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see a woman with long brown hair standing directly behind him. “Looking for this?” The woman asked holding out her hand to Alex and presenting to him the Xtreme Division ring. Alex took the ring from her, “thanks... I guess.” The woman smirked, “I just happened to be passing through, thought you could use a little help.” She then turned away from Alex and began to walk down the dusty trail left by the battle. “Now, I should get going.” “Well, that was one heck of a coincidence,” Alex said. “There is no such thing as coincidence,” the woman proclaimed. She turned back to Alex for a moment, “There is only inevitability.” “Hey,” Marika said poking Alex, “you alright?” Alex turned to Marika and Pierre, “Oh... I was just,” he turned back to see that the woman was nowhere to be seen. Alex then looked at the rind he held in the palm of his hand. He held it out to Marika, “Here... this is yours after all.” Marika placed her hand over Alex's hand closing it over the ring. “Keep it,” she smiled, “as a token of my gratitude.” “You sure?” Alex asked. Marika nodded, “You've more than earned it.” “Alright than,” Alex smiled. “Now then, I should get going.” Alex said turning around and walking off from where Marika and Peirre stood. After a few steps he stopped, then turned back to the pair, “Uhh...” He said scratching his head, “You guys know how to get to Ardent from here?” “Oh... of course,” Marika said pulling out her teleport ring, “Come here.” She slid the ring on Alex's finger and placed Alex's hand on her driver. “TELEPORT, ONEGAI?” Marika's driver called out as a bright light began to engulf Alex. “Thanks for the help,” Alex said throwing the ring back to Marika before completely disappearing. “You're welcome,” Marika smirked, “Alex Darwin.” “'Xtreme Memory Storm...” Pierre said repeating the name of Alex's finishing move, “Kamen Rider... Xtreme... Has a ring to it, don't you think?” “Yeah, it does,” Marika smiled looking up at the sky. “I wish you the best... Kamen Rider Xtreme.” {Insert Ending Theme - “Innocent Starter” by Nana Mizuki} Alex sat on the grass under a shady tree along side Cole, Madison and Sarah. “Oh man!” Madison shouted, “I can't believe you had your big team up episode and I missed it!” Sarah patted her on the head, “Come on Mad Pad, I'm sure they'll be others.” “Yeah,” Madison pouted, “But why did she have to be a magical girl too!” Alex grinned, “Don't worry, next time I run into another rider I'll let you know alright.” “But who knows when that will be,” Cole said snarkingly. “Oh great!” Madison shouted banging her head into the tree, “At this rate I'll never meet another rider!” “I'm sure they're out there somewhere,” Alex said with a light chuckle. “Though where exactly is a good question,” Sarah added. “Besides, who's to say that all of them will turn out to be an ally?” “I guess you've got a point,” Alex said taking in a deep breath. “Even so,” He thought to himself, “I think I'd like to meet them all... someday. Now matter who, or where they are.” --- Back in his apartment, Pierre watched as Marika was packing her things. “Do you really have to go?” “Well, I don’t really have a place of my own, so I don’t want to bother you,” she said with a dismayed look on her face. “Marika, I sai-” “Look! I told you I can’t stay here! I don’t care what you say, I’m not...I...can’t. I need to be out there, helping people!” “Then let me help-” “No! Pierre...no.” She turned around and grabbed her suitcase. “You have a life here. I don’t.” Just as she was about to leave, Pierre grabbed her hand. “Let go!” “Sorry Marika, I can’t. I don’t want you to go out there and spend your life wandering about.” “Why not?! I have nothing! Okay, nothing! No family, no friends-” “Am I not your friend?” “No school, no home-” “You could always stay here and study.” “No job, no legacy, no hope-” Before she could continue, Pierre had slipped a ring on her finger. Looking at her hand, she recognized it right away. “...Engage?” “Until I can get you a real one. Look, I know you have no home. I’ll be your home. You have no family? I’ll be your family. And you keep going on about having no hope. Well you’re my hope…so, will you let me be yours?” Marika’s eyes began to tear up as Pierre got down on one knee. “...BAKA!!!” Marika rose him up and kissed him as he kissed back. Within her Underworld, Magisus saw everything that was happening. *Good for you Marika, you've found your happy ending after all.* Just outside the window, atop the roof of a tall building just on the other side of the street, a young blond haired girl stood on the roof across from Pierre's apartment at looked across into the window. “Aw, this really is the city of love,” The girl said as a yellow mechanical bird flew down from the sky onto her shoulder, she then scratched the bottom of the bird's chin, “Don't you agree partner?” The bird let out a few light chirps. “We should be heading back soon huh?” She asked the bird. “Back to Ardent City...” She said pulling out a yellow gaia memory from her back pocket, “Where I'm sure there'll be more beasts to hunt.” She hit the button just below the label of the memory, “Gale!” The End
