Hi my friends! I'm trying to back collect all the Dino morphers meaning all the characters from dino thunder and SPD. I have done some research but questions still hang around. I need lots of help from anyone. Thanks for your help. Questions are below,
Dino thunder--- Did each morpher come with it's own wrist band? I see some sold with one morpher and a few add on Dino colored snap on pieces. Is there any difference between these for each ranger other than the snap on Dino part on each morphers? How can I tell the difference from the Dino thunder bootlegs? I don't want the bootlegs. How many morphers do I need to buy to complete this series? One for each main character in the show. Is it the cast and the black one for Tommy? I also saw Tommy had a add on part to his morpher. A gold Dino head part. Does this get sold separately or together? SPD morphers------ I know of a White morpher Black morpher Was there more? Is there a morpher made in toy form, just for the cat ranger? Or was it the same one as the others used. Did all these come with a snap on part on the back of each morpher for the belt buckle? Thanks all for any help. I'm trying to find these complete and not badly damage. All loose but complete. |

Dino Thunder Morpher was one wristband morpher part with three dino plates that represents the first three rangers, there were other ones after that that were also one morpher with three interchangeable plates.
If you want a complete morpher for the basic cast, you would need to buy at least three for the main, then one for white, and one of the black ranger. I believe all of the Tommy's morpher comes with the morpher and a key,and it's already in black and gold. The faceplate can be removed and used with other plates though. When it comes to SPD morphers, there are a few variations: SP License: This comes in white or gold, not sure if there are any special versions. This is the Japanese version of the SPD Morpher, it features three selections, Judgement, Call, and Change mode. The Japanese SP License is bigger than the US counter part, and comes with a holster that goes on the belt to hold the license. It comes with stickers to allow the buyer to customize the license to their favorite ranger. SPD Morpher: Smaller than the Japanese counter part, it features only two modes, Change and Judgement mode. The cover also differs from the Japanese version with added sculpted detail in the form of a star. The SPD morpher comes with a belt clip attachment only, not a whole hoster like the Japanese version. There are bootlegs out there that I've seen, also there are templates online that will allow you to customize your license or morpher to other versions that weren't released.

It answers all my questions on both morphers. Thanks so much! It was really a great help. Now at least I know what came with what. I'm going to buy all the Dino morphers and SPD first. Then move onto the others. I watched power rangers from the first season up to time force. All those I know everything. It's the ones after that I still need help with later on. I sure didn't know about the bootleg SPD morphers. Is there a way. To tell the differences? As for the Dino plate covers I just saw now gold, and silver chrome. Looks kind of cool. But then the seller said that the silver chrome plate package was an official set. So I have no clue. Btw was there ever a cat made for SPD? Thanks again for all your help! This makes my back collecting so much easier. |

The Silver and Gold sets are indeed official, it was released in Japan in gift set, I believe. I don't think they actually came with the morpher itself though, just the plates.
When it comes to SPD though, I highly suggest getting the SP Licence over the SPD Morpher. The actual prop used on the show is the JP toy and it has, way, way more functions then the American one. Only the SP Licence (Rangers) and Master Licence (Master/Shadow) were released in both Japan and America. In America, they are simple colour swaps, but in Japan they have different inner badges to represent the characters position and the Master Licence has voice clips in phone mode from Dekaranger, while the SP Licence makes generic phone noises. A lot of the KO SP Licences advertise themselves as "for Cosplay" and do not mention any of their gimmicks (the common KOs don't have electronics), they also sell for as little as $20 while official ones set you back more $50-70 minimum. |

As for the chrome out and gold plated Dino morpher attachments. where those ever in the actual shows? Or just made as a cool extra variants? Was there ever a SPD kat morpher ever made? On a side note I did go to image anime in new York city today. They had some cool rangers toys. There was a lot of go busters rangers stuff. Is that new or a old series? The store was not very customer friendly and the owner was kind of rude. Then prices was marked up way high for all new and old items. Kind of a shame, I wonder how they stay in business? But if anyone wants to check them out for rangers stuff. It's kind of fun to see what they have in stock. But I don't recommend buying anything for such huge mark up prices. Unless your loaded and don't care what people charges. Last edited by Baltan II; 10-02-2013 at 02:51 PM.. |

I don't believe there was a Kat morpher, if there is one, it's purely a customized version.
Go-Buster is the sentai series prior to the current series Kyoryuger Image Anime... well it is what it is, the stuff they get in, if it's import, the prices are always marked up, it is essentially for tourists that doesn't know any better. The owner, well he can be nice and he can be rude, I've seen both sides, and he's always nice when you are buying something

I never watch or even knew anything about the Japan power rangers. But I've been trying to gather more info. Does the Japan rangers series always go one ahead of the USA current series? If so then it's like we get a preview of the upcoming series. Sorry for so many questions. If I'm sounding dumb, thanks so much for all this info. Now I'm still hunting down more morphers! |

Too bad there's no kat morpher. Oh well, the reg will have to do for that series. I just bought 2 of the Dino morphers. One is the white one and the Tommy morpher. Im still watching that series bit by bit. So still learning a bunch about it. Megaforce I'm up to date 100%.

Currently we are 2 or 3 years behind the japanese shows, that may change if Go-Busters gets adapted in two seasons. |

Image Anime has always had that reputation of awful prices, and help you if you ever mention it in front of the owner! They're not bad if you're going for Bluefin-supplied stuff, at least, they don't often seem to overcharge for those the way they do imports.

On another note did anyone here prefer the Japanese roboknight morpher over the USA version? It makes the USA one seem so small. I'm debating on which one to buy. |
