EDIT: TL;DR I was impressed.
Over-Time had their subs drop a few hours ago. Just watched it. This was a really strong episode. Bunglay is an interesting addition to the Players, and his upcoming clash with Kubar could be the start of a shakeup that this villain group really needs. I'm hoping that Kubar, Azald, AND Bunglay all bite the dust so Genis either has to call some legendary Players out of retirement or get more directly involved in the Blood Game. Whatever. Interested to see what happens. And goddamn, Yamato is a terrific Red. When was the last time we had a Red Ranger that was this likable and with a good actor in the role? Captain Marvelous? Tonno-sama? Jan the jungle man!? Everything about Yamato's interactions with Mario and Wakako and his showdown with Bunglay was just brilliantly executed. Great, emotional performance without being too hammy. Also: did anyone think Yamato harrumphing the bouquet of flowers at the end of the episode was suspicious? I think that it probably wasn't him or Mario that left them. Could Yamato have an absentee father showing up in future episodes!? Oh, and we also get some more silliness out of Misao, which I love. He's more restrained than the last two episodes, but still funny and consistent with his character. I also really liked Amu this episode: she knew that there was something going on with Yamato's family before the rest of the team picked up on it. Amu's cute without being a ditz, and is probably the most observant and empathetic of the Zyumans. Amu and Tusk are both "the smart one" but in different ways. These characters are pretty well-written.

For what I heard about him, It seem Yamato have a really BAD relationship with his father. Mario mentions that he ran away from home after he got into argument with his parents and says Yamato always visit him when he get into a fight with his father It seem Yamato's Parents especially his father will played important role in later episodes But I wonder if he have estranged relationship with his father. He make me think his father was a jackass |

This episode was awesome. Not the kind of episode you expect from Sentai. I like how they used Tusk and Amu's brains in different ways and i wonder what Kubar is hiding. Tusk noticed Azald was made of cubes so he's probably from Zyumand and it must be something else. My only problem is that the mecha battle felt forced like "OMG we forgot the mecha fight ! Quick, we need to sell our toys !".
Next episode look interisting. I hope Sela will get a episode soon and a good one. |

Hmm..... It seem that bouquet at the end wasn't brought either Yamato or Mario because Yamato look puzzled when he look at that bouquet. I suspect his father was the one who brought bouquet for his wife's grave but the question is WHERE IS HE?!
His father rarely got mention in this episode as he wasn't with Yamato and his mom when they took the picture. It seem if I have to take a guess. Yamato have a NOT great relationship with his father It's hinting that his father will played the important role in later episodes Anyway, This episode was very emotional one because it deal with Red Ranger's MOM! I actually feel bad for Red Ranger. It was sad that his mom died when he was a young kid. I wonder if his mother's death was the reason that strained the relationship between Yamato and his father |

This was awesome. Bunglay finally brings some more character to the villains, for one with himself being much more interesting than the other generals so far and two it seems Kubar will get some spotlight now.
It looks like he’s frightened to know that Bunglay read his mind, which would suggest that he’s planning something no other team leader and especially not Genis should know about. I imagine Kubar plans to take over the Deathgaliens himself as the new owner. Which could play out really well if Bunglay somehow blackmails Kubar, forcing him to do some tasks for the Mega-Beast Hunter instead. This might actually be a welcome turning point, since Bunglay seems to have his own reasons to be on earth. If he only plans to use the Deathgaliens and has Kubar trapped that could bring out some real conflict and thus more interesting scenes in the villain field. I’m optimistic that Zyuohger can finally work on its weakest part, the villains. And of course, the episode itself was really great as well. Yamato is such a great Red, and his family being slowly pulled into the spotlight seems very interesting. |

Nice episode. It's easy to feel for what happened to Yamato. It's rough.
I really enjoyed Yamato's interactions with his mother. Particularly, I liked that he was always kind of weary of what was going on. He didn't accept her with open arms without any thought. It was nice, all while he told her about his life~ Bunglay is a dick, but in terms of personality, he isn't anything overtly special. However, I'm holding off on judgement since next episode has him straight up fighting Kubar, so perhaps he is the shake up we've all been wanting (However, he really needs to do something a lot bigger than taking out a general...) Misao was a little silly, but he wasn't over the top, so it seems they've been toning him down some. However, considering next episode is a Misao/Leo episode, they might have just been preparing us for that In all, Yamato is a really great character with a strangely mysterious past, and the new Dethgalian better bring something big to the table. Also, it seems Amu noticed no one brought up his father. Wonder where he plays into all of this. Considering the flowers on the grave, I imagine we'll find out soon.

This episode elevated Zyuohger from a good show to a great show. Up to this point it had all of the goofy modern tropes down. But now it added an incredibly strong dramatic angle, almost on the level of some of Jetman's darker episodes into the mix. Yamato having to watch his mom die TWICE, man that's dark! This show is really good right now. Can't wait for more.
