I'm not seeing the complaint about the barebones paintjob. Looks like your typical gimmick line motorcycle paint scheme. If anything, he looks a lot better than the other gimmick line motorcycles. Hell, I can even see the pink handle of the driver on the seat area of Laser.
The other LVUR figures are missing paint on the drivers as well as the weapons on Ex-Aid, and it looks the same for Snipe and Genm, being all one color. But somehow that's fine?

Like I said, I'm only holding Lazer to the standard of his fellow LVUR figures. Yes, the other Riders' Drivers are missing paint, but at least the base green color is painted. Lazer's is left the same yellow as his body. No one is expecting all the little details to be filled in. None of the Rider's shoes or the little screens and Gashats on the belts are fully colored, and it doesn't matter, just as it doesn't matter that Lazer's blinkers or taillights are left unpainted. But a Rider's belt is a pretty major part of their design, and I at least can't see neglecting to paint it the right color as being anything but a glaring flaw. The handle is painted on, which is something, but that something is still less than what the other Riders got.
Ditto on the game pad armor. These are game Riders, and one of the biggest distinguishing features of that is the game pad armor. Leaving it silver is meaningless. The other guys at least got stickers to fill in the color, which is, again, more than he got. And the weapons comparison isn't very relevant. Lazer doesn't come with any weapons. The Chambara Gamer will, however, come with the Spearow, and it will without a doubt have no paint whatsoever. And that'll be fine, and no one will care, because again, I'm only holding Lazer to the standard of the other LVUR figures. Maybe you're right and I'm just being a nitpick, but I honestly don't see how expecting him to get a little blotch of green paint and maybe some stickers for the armor is so unreasonable on a figure they're selling for almost 40 bucks. |

You're also comparing vastly different shapes of figure. Humanoid against a vehicle. I simply don't get it. If it bothers you so much, grab some paint and fix it yourself. I've done it for figures that are much more expensive than these.
I'm sure more detail and care were given to the humanoid characters, as they could reuse parts and molds. Laser, not so much. Plus, we don't know how involved his gimmick is going to be, as he apparently gets a humanoid form evidently (I think). For his price, he's far from awful. And I've seen awful and mostly from higher end lines no less. Also, I just took notice that Brave has his sword painted. Two different colors no less. Yet, none of the other Riders have their weapons painted. Ain't that a thing.

Already got requests from people to repaint their Lazer when they get them in. Like holy crap XD
Gonna also be repainting a friend's LVUR weapons as well. Since my sis is going to Japan for her honeymoon today, debating asking her to pick up a Gasshat lol. Already have Taddle Quest and Shakariki on the way, so maybe Bang Bang shooting?

Ok, I just got my first Gashat, Shakariki Sports and: it is great. It's a good size--while the box was smaller than I expected, the Gashat really fills it up, and it fits well in my hands. The metallic green color is great, and all the decals and such are neatly applied and look great. The white stuff that hides the design on the clear part has a really nice texture. This is a damn nice toy.
My only problem with it is that like all the talking Rider toys I have, it's really damn loud, and in a house with walls as thin as mine, that's a problem. I thought I'd be able to fix it by taping over the speakers, but it looks like the sound can get out of every damn aperture. And since it's just two halves screwed together... the whole thing leaks sound is what I'm saying. Not ideal. Also, I tried to take it apart but one of the screws is minuscule and in trying to unscrew it I'm pretty sure I stripped it. Friggin hell. This doesn't bode well for my chances of replacing PMAX's back. Though I guess I'll worry about that later. Should probably buy a properly sized screwdriver... But anyway, those are relatively minor gripes. This thing is cool, and I love it. I'm really not gonna regret collecting these things. Anyway, some folks were wondering about how to trigger certain sounds. I don't know if there's still any need, but I figure I should document some of the combinations I know of so far. Also found one new thing that I at least haven't seen or heard anywhere else. So for the purposes of this, the black trigger button=T, and the two smaller buttons are L and R (holding it upright with the buttons facing you). Press T -> [Gashat Name] -> Press T -> Game Over/Game Clear sounds (Randomized) -> Press T -> [Gashat Name] -> etc. Hold L -> Level 1 sound Hold L -> Press R -> Level 2 sound Hold R -> Press L -> [Pause] + Level 3 sound Hold L+R -> Press T -> Kimewaza! + Standby sound -> Press T -> Critical Strike sound Hold L+R -> Press T -> Kimewaza! + Standby sound -> Release R -> Critical Finish sound Hold L+R -> Press T -> Kimewaza! + Standby sound -> Release L -> [Last Part of Gashat Name (e.g. Sports)] -> You can keep pressing L, which will cause the name to repeat There are other sounds I'm pretty sure (there's one that plays the level 3 sound but without the Driver sounds or a pause), but this is what I've found so far. That last one is one I had not seen before in any of the videos I'd seen, and it's certainly a bit odd. It just says "Sports" and then the light stays on for a dang long time. It's curious. I assume it's intended for a Gashacon Weapon with its own non-Strike/Finish finisher (the Gashacon Slasher, maybe?). What's interesting is it uses the second part of the name instead of the first (Sports as opposed to Shakariki) like the other finishers do. You can also just hold L again and press T and it'll do the normal Critical Strike sound. Little odd. Anyway, it's a cool little thing, this. Can't wait to get all the others. Barnstenchfartface: awesome! Thank you! I just produced sounds from Taddle Quest I hadn't managed before. I did uncover one, though:

Sis and her husband are honeymooning in Japan. They're in Akihabara. Sis sent me these pics-
She said she'll grab me one Ex-Aid item, but I won't find out what it is til they get back

Heads up for those who may be interested. HLJ has put up Gekitotsu Robots for preorder. I assume other stores may have also but HLJ is all I know.
Good thing too. Was worried we would have to wait until it came out for it to go up. Load off my mind. http://hlj.com/product/BANN10811/Sci |
