SIC figures aren't quite my cup of tea, but I always do like seeing the spin they put on the designs, especially when said designs are supposed to be kind of demonic. I had no idea the older ones were so frail though, what a shame!

It's a shame we never got Figuarts of these guys although they'd probably be P Bandai exclusives.

You know, I always have liked the SIC suits for Showa era stuff because... well, to me, it always seems like "This is what it's SUPPOSED to look like."
I've never heard about these guys before, but, holy crap, I want them and I'm not even a toy collector. They're really cool and Gabura just hits all of my personal tastes. |

I absolutely need this set. LOVE the design on all 3. Anyone know where to stream the series? I need to watch now. Sounds right up my alley.

This has definitely been a set I've been wanting to get. However I've seen quite a lot of varied reviews, so it does sort of make you think more about it. More than likely though I'll get it. They look great and it adds some more old toku to the collection.

Remember when Bandai used to not skimp on accessories for their figures?
As much as I remember this show, zero until now. |

I've always been draw to SIC figures, but due to the reported fragility of the older releases, I've also never bought any. This is a very impressive trio of figures though, even with the potential for breakage and the fact that I've never seen the show. I could see myself try to get them at some point if they do go that cheap....although I imagine with the massive size of the box and how heavy I imagine they are, shipping may be quite high.
Still, really like the look of these, Zabitan in particular, but Gabura too just exudes character. Very nice. |

The year Fourze aired actually commemorated the 40th anniversary of Kamen Rider. So in honor of Ishinomori they started using a bunch of properties he worked on. Now I can't tell you why so many of them turned up as villains. The situation however is very similar to the tail end of OOO's run, when the Let's Go Kamen Riders movie came out. That film was also billed as a 40th anniversary tribute and featured Ishinomori's other creations: Kikaider, Kikaider 01, Zubat, & the original Inazuman. They were all of course portrayed heroically.
Thematically the following year I guess they wanted to mix things up so they went with villainous version of the Akumaizer 3 & Space Ironmen Kyodain. Poitrine remained heroic but turned out to be an illusion as well. The new Inazuman started off evil as Sanagiman before turning to help Gentaro later on. It's an interesting turn to take after the previous years' film and it's unashamed celebration of Ishinomori and his heroes. But that 12 month span of films really honored the history of Toei so much better than I think anything else has in recent memory. Like, image if Kamen Rider didn't get it's resurgence with Kuuga in the 2000's. If in Gokaiger, Ichigou and Nigou returned as straight up villains despite a big part of the origin being that they left they abandoned Shocker to take up heroism (Well, I dunno about Nigou, but you get the idea ) I do wish the Metal Hero's brief comeback was more successful. It could've led to an Akumaizer 3 film, like Gavan or Kikaider.

This was a really nicely detailed set but I wish the figures stood up better on their own. The S.I.C. line is still my favourite.
