I know this is a thread to respect others opinion but I just have to say something.

This seems more like a nitpick. Quote:

Wait you mean you want one that has no red ranger at all? If that is what you meant then there is little to no chance of that happening. Its possible but is not going to happen anytime soon. Last edited by Spearichu; 05-12-2017 at 12:57 AM.. |

The planning for Zyuranger was pure stupidity. Who was the idiot that picked random prehistoric animals for Zyuranger instead of using all actual dinosaurs? Why is the Tyrannosaurus given an erect posture when we knew since the 1970's that theropods did not drag their tails on the ground? Also humans didn't live side by side non-avian dinosaurs. Why the hell is the premise of human warriors from the time of the dinosaurs? That's chronologically impossible. No different than The Flintstones in terms of inaccuracy.

The ending to Jetman was anti-climatic and unnecessary.

Changeman missed out on having a good mecha design. What suit designs this year? Mythical animals from Western mythology. What mecha should we use? IDK helicopters or some shit. Same goes for Sun Vulcan.

Why the fuck did it take until Liveman to move away from vehicle mecha? Somebody please tell me why Toei/Bandai couldn't find a more creative toy designer.
Quote:
Pre-Liveman Sentai has aged horribly, especially the mecha.

Battle Fever J looks more like a gang of bank robbers than a team of superheroes. Also if each team member represents a different country then why are they all Japanese? Seems a bit racist to me.

I think the main robo from Megaranger looks stupid.

I think there are too many repeated motifs in Super Sentai that makes the series feel stale and boring at times.
Quote:
"Sentai" is too close to "hentai" in phonology for comfort.
Quote:
I think 'Super Sentai' should be rebranded as Power Rangers to end the confusion and embrace it's foreign adaptations. Toei should push Saban to adapt or incorporate all teams in some capacity.
Quote:
I want a Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers crossover.

I haven't liked a single "megazord" design since Shinkenger.
Quote:
There are too many aux mecha these days.
Quote:
I hate the Kyoryuger mecha. I think the Zyudenchi gimmick is stupid. We really didn't need a third dinosaur motif. And fake batteries don't improve upon it in any fashion.
Quote:
I think the premise of the rangers just being "born" into being rangers is lazy writing.
Quote:
Why are so many Sentai centered around the rangers (or their parents) being from different planets? Why do they not use an alien/space motif? Seems like a missed opportunity to me.
Quote:
I think Super Sentai needs to let the red ranger take a back seat sometimes, and not just JAKQ, Kakuranger, or Timeranger. I mean actually make a different color ranger the focus point and official leader.

I want a sequel to Sun Vulcan.

This doesn't belong in the thread This is a fact, not an opinion. Only real counterargument I can think of is PR constantly going "Ha!" when doing anything

I really like Dekaranger. I can see why people would dislike it seeing as the characters are not that great, it lacks an overarching plot (at least early on, I have only seen 14 episodes so far) and the action is not the best either.
But for some reason, it's exactly my style. The characters work for me, I like the designs and some of the cases they're handling are generally interesting. Maybe it's the science-fiction aspect and that the heroes are trained policemen and not some random guys. I know it's not the best but I still want to defend it. |

The fact that Ninninger's plot doesn't really go anywhere doesn't bother me because I feel like the majority of Sentai is severely lacking in the plot department.

I personally enjoy 1975-2000 Super Sentai the most. I never like how they started to use CG for the Mecha/Zords in Gaoranger and later on.

We all know that the true Achilles' heel of rangers is the zipper on the back of their costumes.

Old toku from the 60's-early to mid 90's is always fun to watch because the suits and miniatures that they would build back then in my opinion. I'm not a fan of the CG use these days in Toku. I know it's a not a big issue if the story is good, but the practical effects is one reason why I love toku.
