Ohranger Robo
Ohranger Robo is a fine looking main mecha. Really like all the gold on it, gives it quite a regal look which fits considering one of Ohrangers main motifs were ancient civilizations. The helmet swapping gimmick is also quite cool, it takes advantage of the fact that a helmet is a part of the main design and gives some uniqueness to each member of the team. Of course I think the Wing Head is the best looking of the bunch but I appreciate the variety. Overall it's a really solid looking mecha. About the only thing I can complain about is the name. Why "Ohranger Robo"? Why couldn't it just be like "Oh Robo" or something? Was it considered too short? Red Puncher Red Puncher sort of follows up this trend started by Dairanger of giving humanoid mechas to individual rangers. However Red Puncher takes that trend one step further by the fact that he basically looks like a mecha-nized version of Oh Red. I do really like the design and stuff like the gattling gun arms are pretty cool. Buster Ohranger Robo This combination is a little lackluster. I mean it still kinda works and having Red Puncher's arms as shoulder cannons is cool. However it doesn't really excuse the fact that most of Red Puncher just ends up as a backpack, which granted I'm pretty sure is mostly due to how the toy works. The head is also almost cool. Almost being the key word there because I really don't like how you can see Ohranger Robo eyes. They look so small and sunken in compared to rest of the head. It would looks way better if they had a black visor over it. OhBlocker OhBlocker is a very weird design. He's basically just a big hodgepodge of geometric shapes trying to form a humanoid body and the attempt is sorta succesful. I mean I actually kinda like it becuase of how odd it looks but I can also see how many people wouldn't like it becuase of that. I do like the twin swords though, gives him some uniqueness from the other mechas. I also like how he has the 5 humanoid mecha concept like Muteki Shogun but he definately doesn't execute it as well. King Pyramider King Pyramider really could of been more interesting. The carrier formation essentially looks like a pyramid trying to be a trailer, so nothing much to say there. The mecha form is a very clear case of the gimmick interfering with the design since his whole body is basically just the pyramid standing up. I do like the details on him, it nicely empasizes how ancient he's suppose to be. Other than that though, about the only things neat about him is the head which is admitedly cool, and the red chest jewel which gets immeadiately counteracted by the dumb groin guard. At best, King Pyramider is just okay. Also why is he Pyramid themed? I thought that was already Oh Blue's motif. Tackle Boy Tackle Boy is a really simple design. It's a wheel with arms and legs, that's about it. I mean there's nothing really bad about him and understand that he's designed the way he is because of his gimmick. He's really just sort of there to me. That being said the concept of a giant wheel ramming a monster is quite hilarious. Gunmazin Gunmazin is a character that Sentai seems to have forgotten about. Then again from what I've heard, Gunmazin wasn't that big of character in Ohranger to begin with. With that said he has quite a cool design. The Roman Centurion look is a cool motif and fits in well with Ohranger's aesthetic. It does sort of clash with the tiki head motif but I'm not about to lose sleep over that. I wouldn't mind seeing him show up again in some anniversary title. Last edited by Byg42; 07-07-2017 at 08:45 AM.. |

What really is amazing for me is that they actually got a doguu statue and moai head. Though I applaud the staff for trying something new it is a bit sad that without the right context people will just wonder what the heck these chariots are pulled by a bull and a lion with a pharaoh hat. Other than that Ohranger Robo is awesome and Skyphoenix looks slick on its own.
Buster Ohranger Robo looks like it will do some serious damage with those shoulder cannons, and King Pyramider just oozes an aura of "I am a king, kneel down evil peasants". Tackle Boy I can do without, Gunmazin is a fun design and concept. LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST.... Oh-freakin-Blocker. It feels like a well-made Apple product among its peers. It is clean, it is simple when combining, and is SLICK. JUST SLICK. There is something streamlined about it overall and I like it.

Oh-Blocker is my most favorite mecha in Oh-Ranger. I love the geomatric shape humanoid robots can be really worked when combine become single robot.
Tackle Boy is really unique mecha and he can become wheel. I also love he wearing American Football helmet. I think his black color and helmet design has some inspiration from Change Gryphon's design. Hmm...yeah, the wheel zord concept later will be used for Gao Armadillo from Gaoranger and GT-Roader from Go-Onger. Gunmazin is really cool too. He is one of my favorite Extra Hero. Gunmazin is one of Extra Hero who can grow become Giant along with Ninjaman, Black Knight, Wolzard, and Zubaan. Last edited by Blade Fang; 07-07-2017 at 09:39 AM.. |

I remember they don't pop as much like the the mmpr 3 seasons of toys. I think It's the first man made mechanical mecha since Jetman. I haven't watch Ohranger yet, but I think Pyramider was probably an ancient zord built a few millenniums ago, but none of the Zords are sentient beings. Anyway, I wasn't a fan of the Zords of this seasons and the helmets look lazy to me when I was a kid.

I like Ohranger Robo, Red Puncher is fine, King Pyramider is great, but the rest just don't make sense to me. Why a wheel dude? That belongs in Carranger NOT Ohranger. Not to mention the amount of mecha introduced so quickly in the last quarter of the show.
Gunmajin was utterly pointless and his rules never made sense since he could just make them up as needed. |

Ohranger Robo is, hands down, the best combined Sentai mech ever. Everything about it is absolutely gorgeous.

Always liked OhBlocker (Super Zeo Megazord) the best. Unfortunately never got him as a kid and I'm also still missing Pyramid King (Pyramidas) to complete my Zeo Ultrazord.
Also if you didn't notice, in a way, when they adapted OhBlocker, Zeo did the "Super" gimmick first, way before Neo-Saban.
