Ghost's just...Ugh. I did like Takeru choosing to enjoy his final few days rather than stress out. I'll agree there.

Huh, this is unusual. A complaint about Ghost I haven't heard before. You guys will never guess how I feel about the Ghost Driver!

I also got to his deadline, and the incredibly cheap way of him getting a hard restart on it. Kind of kills the tension, guys...

I like the idea of it. An empty eye with the Eyecons providing the pupil. It's just...The worst. I think the Gamer Driver is the only one I dislike more, since that thing is basically the size of a planet. Quote:
He gets worse. One of the main things I hate about him is that not only does his shtick never stop, but he actively goes out of his way to do obnoxious comic relief crap even when it completely derails the actual plot.
One of the many things I hated about the show was how it burned through Takeru's initial countdown. They go through 100 days in about 13 episodes, which creates the impression that Takeru spent the better part of his final days sitting around with his thumb up his ass, waiting for someone to come along and tell him where the next Eyecon is. And I think the problem with how fast he burnt through the days was because of how they chose to implement him finding the Eyecons. The old man basically appears to tell him which new Eyecon has become active...Otherwise, he was never proactive in retrieving them. If Specter and what's his name didn't collect the other 8, he never would have had a chance at it.

I came around to liking the Gamer Driver because it... kind of owns how ridiculous it is.
Putting aside for a moment that unlike the Ghost Driver it actually requires the space for both its items and its gimmicks, I can't help but love something so garrish it makes G2 Transformers blush and has the gall to be called 'Gamer Driver'. It's just wonderful

I always thought the Ghost Driver was funny-looking, not just on it's own but also because it's quirky Halloween look feels like it clashes with the show's aesthetics and themes of Japanese spirituality and historical figures.
How strange is it still that his mid-season power-up just ditches it entirely for the Eyecon Driver G?! Well, that's not a complaint because I actually like it and Grateful a lot. |

Starting to catch up on Zero-One. The rapper HumaGear was way less cringey than I feared, but I'm still having issues with this era of the show. The main problem, of course, is Gai. He's a terrible villain and one of the most grating and obnoxious characters Kamen Rider has ever produced. He is without any redeeming merit and I hate how his mere presence turned Aruto into a blithering idiot. The worst part, though, is that I also think he's right.
Gai's not wrong about the HumaGears. They are a dangerous and unstable form of technology. Sure, Izu is moe as fuck, but all the rest of them are one bad interaction with humanity away from going berserk and monster-ing out. There is definitely a major problem here and it's not going to be solved by Aruto grabbing it around the waist and screaming its name. I hate that I kind of agree with one of the villain's main premises, especially because he is such an incredibly terrible character. |

Finally got around to watching Geiz Majesty. Aside from the vore I genuinely found that to be pretty good. Like... like probably the best V-cinema so far? It's not got a lot of competition, granted, but it's just a solid movie that's a satisfying continuation of Zi-O's ending that, despite our characters learning about their pasts; doesn't invalidate or reverse anything about that ending. Instead it's used as a tool to show them moving on from it and deciding their own future, and damn is it lovely.
Gotta say, also, the use of the returning secondary riders is surprisingly very natural and well thought-out! Introducing them as mentor-esque characters first that arguably could have been filled in by some random one-off before having them be Riders works very well to the movie's advantage and makes it all the more rewarding seeing them come back. Hell, in general it's just very fun to see Accel and Birth beating up suckers and having a lot of agency in the story. Sure, it's weird that Kaixa's alive and Date still has the Birth belt somehow but, like, who cares! I loved seeing Date and Terui getting on with their lives and how they've settled into what they want to do while continuing to live up to their responsibility as Riders when needed. All in all this is just a very good movie representing some of the best parts of Zi-O. Highly, highly recommend.

I rewatched the first episode of Ex-aid and holy crap that was good. Like Emu is incredibly likable and the stakes are established both on a high level and personal level. The jokes are good, and just overall it's very good. I wish I was more eloquent.

I watched the Kamen Rider Brain thing, and man, there can't be a better way to end an era than that. I'm not the biggest Drive fan, but I always liked the Roidmudes, and the fact they actually made their April Fools joke real and was not only hilarious but also continued the story of Drive is crazy.
