so what Easter eggs did you catch?
I caught Jason being the last one to leave with the same crossed arms. Mariner Bay. Alpha doing his aiyaiyai. Obviously the Zeo crystal. |

The best part of the movie was either when they recreated this with the MMPR theme
Or when the city was being destroyed, the Rangers were fighting Goldar and Rita's eating a fucking donut

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I'm probably going to go back and see it again if I get a chance!
Although, I was kind of confused at the very beginning. Did the movie start off black with just sound for the first 2 minutes or so? Or did my theater guy just mess the playing up? I thought it was an accident at first but when Jason turns on the flashlight I thought it might be intentional. I was just kinda confused. I went in with very low expectations, having been following this as it's been evolving. I never actually hated any of the designs, I just wasn't in love with them. The movie itself did tremendous justice to every design that I didn't care for, except maybe Goldar, who should have had at least a "RANGERS!" thrown in there in his classic Goldar-y voice. I found that my least favorite part was showing how the Megazord formed. It was a bit too smokey to actually see what was going on, and then you just have a giant (awesome-looking) robot standing there. Those were the only real issues I had with it. There were honestly a LOT more good points than I was expecting: Trini - as someone who is LGBT, she hit home really hard for me. I'm a 20-year old man, and I shed tears at her story. Good job with her character. Billy - I loved having him be "on the spectrum" as he put it. Plus the fact that Jason wasn't a d--- to him was great. Plus his refusal to curse was hilarious. Zordon - He seems a lot more narcissistic in the movie than I remember him being when I watched the series (yes, I watched it even though it was before my time), and I kind of liked it. He cared more about coming back to life than helping the rangers, although I felt that this point could have been expanded upon more. Social issues - While it was somewhat blunt, they tackled a lot of social issues, such as coming out, mental stigma, and the thing that Kimberly did. And it handled them well. Easter eggs - Need I say more? Especially Bumblebee and the end. You could tell who the fans were in the theater because we SWOONED. Overall, I had a great time, even though I was by myself. I was thrilled. If I had to give it a score, 8/10 |

Man, that Tommy teaser really appealed more than I thought it would.
To me it's like the most obvious thing they could've done given his ridiculous popularity. |

The movie was much better than I was anticipating. I really enjoyed the cast and the movie was fun throughout. Personally, the movie started to fail once everyone became a power ranger. The putties weren't very exciting, Goldar was just a thing, and I wasn't into his design either. Rita was very intimidating throughout but then she just stepped aside for Goldar at the end. I would have loved to see Rita have a fight with the ranger, then call upon Goldar and maybe when she combined with him Goldar could have at least looked more like the Goldar we all know. Also, not having Goldar explode was pretty disappointing. Also, the lack of a transformation for the megazord was a huge bummer. That's what I was looking forward to the most. I'm excited to see a sequel though. Even though Rita was basically an evil green ranger, I would love to see what they could do with tommy in the sequel. I hope the dragonzord stays close to the original design.
