Yo, that mech looks sick. I may actually have to import the minipla for this one.
Does anybody else get slight Ultraman vibes from the head?

Yep. THAT PIKOTARO.
And it seems like based on some of the Japanese news sites they say he is their tech guy so he might not be their commander per se and more like Q from the James Bond movies. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Somehow this show feels like a love letter to the 80s, 90s, and 2000s aesthetically. The villain with its human mouth exposed is fresh out of the 1980s. The suits and mecha feel more 2000s, and the civilian outfits are straight 1990s. It’s a clash of styles but I really enjoy what they have done here.
Kiramaizin is as beautiful as I thought it would be. The light coming through the crystal parts is stunning. Wouldn’t surprise me if a P-Bandai version with lights was made available. I do have some complaints though. Not a fan of Kiramaizin proper being the RYG combo. All five should be the base combo, but thankfully it looks like all 5 are meant to combine unlike Ryusoulger. The other complaint is that blue is only a sword in the 5 piece combo. It’s kind of a bummer, but they do look good altogether. I can’t wait to see the toy version. |

Haha, Kanon's actor is pink ranger now. The last time I saw her was in Silent Siren's video for the song "Hero".
And yeah, the simple helmet & suit design and ESPECIALLY the shiny (blinking?) mecha design are homages to 80's visual styles. Yep, this season gives off strong 80s/90s nostalgia vibe. Can I play Time After Time now? |

Kanon may now be a Sentai member, but what blows my mind even more is that they got the Pen Pineapple Apple Pen guy in this.

Hell yeah seems like the sleek mecha is going to be the standard now.
Bandai really needs to start making model kits of the Sentai mechas other than Minipla, hell even make a return of Super Robot Chogokin. I really want a Kishiryuoh figure!

Kiramaizin looks Kiramazing! (*insert Aruto's joke pose*)
I wonder if they intended that pun. Last edited by FairyKing; 01-16-2020 at 03:43 AM.. |
