So I was on Netflix and they had few Godzilla films and they even had the first Godzilla American adaptation up on there called Godzilla king of the monsters. What was realesd 2 years after the original 1954 film. Is it any good just wondering.

Well, it's essentially the original Gojira movie with a few scene shuffled around and adding the character Steve Martin to scene(which actually done fairly well IMO). It's worth checking out IMO.

Don't know about Netflix UK, but Netflix US has the original 1954 uncut version of Godzilla.

I am not a fan of this version because it gets rid of the anti-nuclear weapon message the original symbolizes.

It's the best American adaptation ever. It was treated with a lot of respect when adapted, but as Dr. Kain says, the anti nuke message was neutered. And the source material is the best Godzilla movie ever, so that helps.

It felt weird to me. I didn't like how the entire movie was turned into a giant flashback. If that's all you have access to, go ahead and watch it, but if you have the ability to choose between the original and the American adaptation, definitely go for the original.

It was my first Godzilla movie and what got me into Toku. It's a decent adaptation in my opinion.
