For some reason my Trigger memory I got with my Super Best Double Driver has stopped working properly. When I push the button it only sometimes says it's name (bear in mind how obscenely sensitive the buttons on DX memories are. It should be going off if I gently caress it!) and when I put it in the driver it makes the standby noise, but when I open the driver it keeps making the standby noise, then makes the opening noise, only to then flutter between standby, activation and the sound it make when you close the driver.
I checked the batteries but they're fine in eveyr otehr memory, likewise the batteries from other memories still make the same problems, which leads me to believe the main button's broken! Is this a common problem with DX memories with some kind of easy fix? If it's just the one button I feel confident I can fix it... unless the circuitry inside is busted, then I'd feel like crap and have to get a new one. (And Trigger's one of my favourites ) |

Take a look at how the little tabs in the sides at the plug in the memory work. Like in the little Gold part of the memory, press the one on the left while pressing the main button. I think that's the tab that should relate to the henshin sound, while the one on the right should be the Maximum Drive button. If neither makes a sound, you may have to take the thing apart and check if the tabs are loose or have a broken bit.

Those buttons work fine. Like I said, the standby noise when you put it in the driver works. (as does teh Maximum drive, but again when I stick it in the slot it doesn't work the first time I hit the button) It's the button on top, the one that get's pressed down when the driver opens that doesn't work. Even when the memory's not in anything it doesn't always work. It all seems to be centered around that one button, but when I look at it I don't see anything out of the ordinary inside. It's almost as if the button is too "short" to hit the button on the actual curcuit board piece inside. It's weir. But I don't want to start cracking it open and messing stuff up.
Also, what's that rubber grey button on the back for? |

Hmmm, think that might fix it? I mean, I don't think it's an electronic problem but I'm willing to try anything, do I have to hold it down for a certain amount of time?

I gave that a try, but the button didn't seem to depress much. So I took it apart, put it back together, and it still didn't work. Then I noticed the center screw wasn't quite as down there in it's hole with the others, so I gave it one extra spin, and she works.
:I It was a loose screw. I don't even know how I didn't just fix that reassembling it. (I love screwing things) But basically the housing wasn't properly joining the button to the circuit board, so when the button was pushed, it didn't hold down the smaller, black button (really more of a switch) which is why it wouldn't go off when I pushed it sometimes. Well, at least it's fixed. Thanks, OOO! Without your recommendation I don't think I would've noticed the loose screw. |
