Watched Lost Galaxy's Protect the Quasar Saber where Karone returns and becomes Galaxy Pink. Granted it's a last minute change since Cassie was meant to be the new Pink Ranger, and while Karone ended up becoming a far better choice, I can't help but feel like something's missing, like Karone has already interacted with the Lost Galaxy Rangers since they already acted as friends in this episode.
Again, this is primarily due to last minute change though. And it still amazed me on how Astronema and Karone looked likeas if they were played by two different people. And she sounded different as a Ranger too! Really brilliant idea to have Karone acting like a kid to make up for her lost childhood. Also, an ideal version of this would have Andros as a guest just to have him see his sister finally becoming a Power Ranger. Maybe this should have been a third part of the In Space teamup, but again, this was due to last minute change.

Lost Galaxy's Facing the Past. While this is the episode that introduced the Battilizer, this is Karone's episode first and foremost, and rightfully so. Hell in an ideal setting Karone would be the one to equip that Battilizer.
I heard that Karone was going to be in this show no matter Cassie became Pink Galaxy or not to the point where they wanted to make her a Lost Galaxy Purple Ranger, that is according to Andros' actor. As much as that idea is intriguing, I think it was just Chris Kayman's wish since the source came from him. And holy shit, the MotW sliced Damon in his human form! You never see that in Toku most of the time, and even when they do, it's usually a fatal attack! And gotta love the few times other Rangers used the Transdaggers' other modes. And Ecliptor cameo!!!! In the opeolning Valerie Vernon was still credited as Kendrix, I heard that they did this so that Saban could help pay Valerie for her treatment. That's........ A surspringly genuine move from Saban. I mean this is Saban we're talking about, the king of screwing people up for money. So to have them do something nice, that is pretty nice for a change. Granted it's probably for PR reasons but still, better than nothing. And still, I hate Saban no matter what.

Not even gonna lie, I always thought they kept Kendrix in the opening credits because Saban was just too cheap to pay someone to remove her

I'll probably give Beast Morphers a chance again.

Finished Lost Galaxy. Gotta say....... Villamax might be tied with Ecliptor for best villains ever...... But calling him a villain would be a disservice.
Whereas Ecliptor was clearly on the side of evil but has a sense of honor as well as having heart, Villamax was never really a villain, he just wanted to train Trakeena into becoming stronger and fights the Rangers under her command, basically he wanted to be a knight to serve a queen. Had he met the Rangers earlier he would've probably been an ally of them from the start. The most amazing thing though? He's the exact opposite of his Sentai counterpart.

Just got Netflix back recently and I decided on a whim to throw on the first episode of RPM to see if it was working well -- just a few minutes, and then I'd move onto the new stuff I wanted to watch. ... aaaaand then I couldn't turn away and I guess I rewatched the full first episode now!
Not a full series rewatch by any means, just Episode 1; but this holds up better than I remember. I am noticing some flaws, mind -- there's some odd sound mixing here and there, unfortunately most particularly on Dillon's first listen to his fobwatch; our first three rangers needed slightly longer introductions imo; and the threat of the Grinders is not built up nearly enough for the subversions of Flynn and Dillon easily dispatching them to work the way they want. Like, literally; outside of stock footage the first Grinder we see is the torso Flynn chucks out his bus. Otherwise, really solid! I love how the tone is built; I love how aside from silly things like 'blaster' painfully standing in for 'gun' they don't shy away from more serious elements but still don't go full-on edgelord with it; many of the interactions are nice; and something I didn't pick up on before is that this episode had one hell of a budget! Like okay sure, there's some super dodgy CGI; but when was the last time Power Rangers had access to anything like a full-on barren desert location? How many takes did some of the fantastic car action near the end take? We talk a lot about RPM's budget in relation to there being almost no Sentai footage, but it's clear how present it is besides that! Just... man. I forget the timing of it exactly, but I think RPM is actually something I watched before Gokaiger; it was either that or almost immediately after, so it was either my big gateway into my big Toku kick or at least a big part of it. I've got no love for the vast majority of Power Rangers and the nature of the franchise, but RPM? Yeah. Yeah I can vibe with this. Super good kid's TV.

Alot of RPM's' aspects come from how it was originally aimed at 15 years olds. That's why there's alot more "dark" subject matter throughout the show as well as alot of injokes and references that older fans and adults would get. But yeah, RPM is pretty good for the most part, though I do feel it is overhyped a bit much(though how Saban reacted to the show when they got the rights back probably didn't help much).
Even though Ziggy is my favorite character in RPM, my favorite episode is probably Episode 10, "Ranger Blue." Flynn's' backstory and his relationship with his dad was surprisingly touching, and it made Flynn my favorite Blue Ranger up until Eddie in Hyper Force came along. |

While I'm still waiting for Beast Morphers to finish airing here in the US before watching it all on Netflix, I gotta say, the latest episode of Let's Talk Toku got me really excited for it.
Speaking of that show, if anyone is at all interested in having a glimpse at a behind-the-scenes/business look at the franchise as a whole, there are two episodes I would highly recommend watching. I'll link them here: These two episodes cover topics like what Saban design philosophy behind their 2nd Era was(and outright confirming alot of what I've been trying to tell people for awhile), why Go-Busters was chosen as the current season to adapt, and also a proposed first draft of a Kyuranger adaptaion, named "Power Rangers Supernova." Which would also be a direct sequel to Beast Morphers. And I gotta say, outside of the idea of bringing Adam back(never got why he was so popular outside of being played by someone who'd later become a famous anime voice actor), it made me really wish we'd gotten that instead of Dino Fury. But as I've said before, Power Rangers+Dinosaurs=Money, so I don't blame Hasbro for choosing Ryusoulger.
