DaiBouken
I've never been too sure of what to make of DaiBouken. It feels rather standard compared to some of the previous mecha but since Boukenger was an anniversary show, I suppose they wanted to brings things a little back to basics. It's fine. The consistent use of silver all around helps bring things together and the fact that it has a shovel and pick axe as weapons is kinda hilarious. Gogo Trailer This combination reminds of Five Trailer from Fiveman as far as the concept goes. Its an okay mode and the way Gogo Gyro plugs on top of Gogo Formula to create the truck head is a neat idea. Gogo Armaments Just gonna touch on these since there's really not much to say. They are just arm attachments. They are a neat assortment of weapons and it being able to switch arms with SirenBuilder is a bit cool. Otherwise I kinda have no real opinion on any them. Super DaiBouken Okay, now we're getting into something a bit more interesting. Super Daibouken, despite being made up 9 different vehicles, is rather concise. Nothing about it really juts out except for maybe the helmet. The colour scheme is now much more predominantly red thanks to the new torso design and I do kinda love how it literally just the back of Daibouken and yet it somehow still looks fine. The new helmet looks nice with the two large horns and Gogo Mixer and Gogo Crane make really good looking feet. It's a neat combination. Ultimate DaiBouken Ultimate Daibouken is where I'd say Sentai mechas started getting this fascination of wanting to combine everything. I mean prior series had combinations that tried to include everything, most notably Tenrai Senpuujin but the designs still felt a little constraint. This is when I think the combinations started to get a little crazy. Remember what I said about Super Daibouken being somewhat concise, that's not really the case with Ultimate Daibouken. I mean the wing pack is one thing but then you have the new, much wider chest piece. You also have Gogo Gyro just sort of awkwardly being the lower torso. It feels like they had no idea where else to put it so they placed it in the only free spot they had. I do like the new head piece though with its sort of engine like look. So aside from the placement of Gogo Gyro, I don't really have a problem with Ultimate Daibouken. It's just that you start the happenings of certain future combinations to come. SirenBuilder Like with DaiBouken, I find SirenBuilder to be rather standard. It's not too bad, it looks good enough but it doesn't really have anything about it that notably sticks out from other vehicle based mechas aside from the transformation which is actually kind of neat. What I find more perplexing is the colour scheme as it really isn't indicative of BoukenSilver unlike most other secondary ranger mechs. DaiVoyager Since we already got the "Everything combines together" mecha, the final mecha is instead a wholly new mech, and it's a battleship no less which is pretty awesome. While it is a bit of stretch to call it a battleship, I think the Gogo Voyager mode conveys it just enough. The individual components on the another hand are probably the worst out of all the Gogo Vehicles. I mean two of them don't even look like actual vehicles that could exist. The DaiVoyager mode itself looks cool. It's big, it looks heavy, and while the roller hands are a bit silly, it still looks like it can cause some serious damage. The design itself is also very clearly a reference to both Dyna Robo and Change Robo, with the predominantly blue body and red cone head. I like it. Also like with V-Rex, DaiBouken can ride on top of the Gogo Voyager mode, which is cool. DaiTanken It's kinda funny that this is the movie mecha despite the fact that all of its pieces debuted in the show. It's looks alright all things considered with the exception of the jet wings sticking out the back. I also find it funny that the in show suit looks sleek thanks to Gogo Jet being the torso and all, but the actual toy itself is somewhat bulky and kinda derpy looking. I'd say DaiTanken most interesting aspect is actually Gogo Mixer and Gogo Crane. These two vehicles are essentially quadchangers with the amount of modes they have and its kinda impressive. Burning Legend DaiVoyager The form exclusive to the Boukenger vs Super Sentai movie, granting red wings, a new chest piece, and gauntlets that actually makes it look like it has hands. It's a nice upgrade. Last edited by Byg42; 02-22-2018 at 10:42 PM.. |

I really like DaiBouken. It has a cool design, and I'm a fan of arm changing gimmicks. Gives more variety. Super and Ultimate DaiBouken also get passes from me. I'm a huge sucker of ultimate combinations throwing everything into the mix (Although, admittedly, some of them can be a tad disappointing). Super and Ultimate also have a lot more of a cleaner look in comparison to something like G12 Formation or GoBuster King, which helps it score more points in my book.
Siren Builder is dull. So very, very dull. There's nothing special to it besides it's toy's interesting transformation. DaiVoyager's color scheme makes it very dull as well. I know it's a homage, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It separating into 5 vehicles is also a poor choice. I think it would have been much more interesting if it was just 1 solo mech.

Yeah I can’t say I like any of these mecha, or even the suits from this series. They’re really the only designs in Sentai I outright dislike.

I really dislike Boukenger's mechs, to be honest... but DaiTanken's toy is high-lariously dinky.
He looks chubby but with two completely disproportionate arms. This might be my absolute least favorite Sentai mech, but it kind of wraps back around to being great due to how bad it is. |

Daibouken's cool factor design-wise is definitely the heavy machinery feel that it has.
Off topic but Byg you plan on doing threads for the ranger suits?

Is it just me or does DaiVoyager's head unit resemble Combattler V's head unit?
