Specifically look at Skytread, who's basically a two-piece Megazord, and the weaponizers.

It's a cost saving measure, not to mention that by making it q mask it's basically 'one size fits all'

It's underwhelming on some level, yes. But could it be planned? Possibly.
Hasbro may be trying to whet our appetites a bit just so they can save the "Big Ones" for later! When people look at what Transformers is producing, do they focus on the Roleplay items? I also kinda think this is an accurate portent for the show, and Calendar Reveal from a few Months ago in which Red is holding a blaster that is similar to what is depicted in the Roleplay set, but not included in Go-Busters, helps cinch the theory. What I don't like is the fact that Bandai's "Master Toy License" doesn't end until April 1st! I had hoped that we would be seeing things by March, but those dreams are now dashed. |

The Beast-X Electronic Saber (Sougan Blade in Beast Morpher version) looks better than Go-Busters version....

Focusing on having lights and sounds for the Sougan Blade instead of a transformation was a smart idea; the original Bandai toy version... wasn't that great.

No, you shouldn't look at those, because as we're all aware the design fidelity of Transformers rarely translates into other toylines by Hasbro even where transforming robots are concerned. Crossovers, for example. |

I have to agree with the others I doubt we will see anything similar to the Transformers with regards to Zords. From my understanding a fair amount of Transformers design work is handled by Takara, so expecting that level here is going lead to disappointment.
