According to Dread Central, Godzilla VS Biollante will finally make its way to the US in both Blu-ray and DVD formats! Both are scheduled for release on December 4th, $6.99 for the DVD, and $14.99 for the Blu-ray. More info:
Quote:
"According to Toho Kingdom, the print is expected to be taken from Toho’s pristine Japanese Blu-ray release. That means it will be seen in its original, widescreen aspect ratio with two Japanese audio tracks (2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround) with freshly commissioned English subtitles. For those that hate to read and love bad English dubbing, the Miramax English dub with Australian-sounding accents will be included.
Details of disc extras have not been officially announced just yet but it’s expected there will be a 48-minute “making of” feature and another 10-minute featurette imported from the Japanese release. In addition, there will be a commentary track by “Japanese Giants” editor Ed Godziszewski, who can be heard on numerous other American releases of Toho monster movies detailing the history and inside stories behind the various films."

Even if you don't think too fondly of this movie, at least take a look at it on Amazon - the Blu-Ray's only $7.99!

I have a HK DVD release of the movie with English subs that will do for now. But when I finally make the plunge to blu-ray (which tbh I should have done ages ago anyway) this is definitely one to consider

Bad dubbing? Have the people ever listened to this dub? Not only is it not bad, once you watch it with the subs on you'll realize it's almost a verbatim translation of the Japanese dialogue. you want a bad dub, listen to any Godzilla movie AFTER Biollante

While this is old news, I'm not going to get excited until I see actual reviews. It is being released by Echo Bridge, and they have never done anything to prove they actually care about the movies they release on BD. I own Toho's BD right now, so I just see no reason to buy this at this moment in time.

That's already on DVD.
