Comcast doesn't have any Toku network. At least, mine doesn't.
Of course I want Toku to be more popular. The bigger it is the better it is for us. It would mean more franchises getting official video releases (instead of just streams) and more theatrical releases. Perhaps even more merchandise carried over. Hell, I wish Toku could have an explosion of popularity like anime had 15 years ago. That's why I keep talking about the Sentai DVD releases from Shout!, buying copies to give away at cons as prizes, and with Garo coming out (hopefully soon and not the 5 years Sentai is taking with Big O), this is our chance to show we want more. So basically what AkibaRanger is? But honestly, I'm surprised that we haven't had one of those selfish comments. Y'know that "No. I want this to be mine. I like being special." Y'know that whole Vegetarian/Terminator skit from Robot Chicken?

Naw I'm picturing something like the Ultraman Tiga dub that aired on 4kids way back.

It would be cool to have Japanese henshin heroes to be more well known in the US. We are getting some new giant monster movies lately, so I do think the demand for giant monster flicks is better now compare to 10-20 years. Also Toku is more than just superheros and kajiu, I would like to see more people respect Japanese film making and look at Japanese special effects more than just cheap looking Z graded film making. As someone who love Japanese Sci-Fi films at a young age, I always love the use of rubber suits and miniatures. Hollywood mostly uses CG while Japan still tries to keep things practical.

I'd love for Super Sentai to gain more traction in the U.S. The Shout Factory DVDs are a step in the right direction but starting with the point where Power Rangers started isn't exactly my favorite idea (though I understand why).
It'd be nice to take this as an opportunity to air the Sentai shows that America hasn't even reckoned with yet...in other words, GoBusters, ToQger and Zyuohger. Kamen Rider would also get a place there. |

I would like it to get more mainstream attention only so I can have friends to talk about it with since I only have here and the SHT live stream to talk about it. Though that would mean I would have to get friends >w>

I disagree since the 90s was the best era for Sentai.

If the new PR movie is popular, it can get newbies to look into watching the original source material of the PR series. I somewhat doubt it since most casual people are not into sub titled films and shows, but it would be cool though.

The only thing I see th new movie doing is pleasing the people that think Power Rangers should be dark and angsty with no substance, just Bayplosions.
