Zedd is *THE* figure of the first wave, by far. Shadow Ranger fills a gap in the Dekaranger Figuart line and I love that, but Zedd is just ... everything a Power Rangers fan has wanted in a Lord Zedd figure since he first appeared on the show.
10/10 have already bought 3

That’s...not true? Different companies do things in different ways, and with the way Figuarts are now completely different price points. One figure existing doesn’t negate another company having a go, otherwise what’s the point in Figuarts doing half the things they do.
Anyway back on topic I love this figure a lot. Shadow is fine, but feels pretty standard for what it is and Hasbro flat out misrepresenting it on the box is a bit deceitful IMO. Zedd is just perfect.

The images of the prototype on the packaging showed the sidecar's wheels being able to split in half down the middle and turn into two shields; one for each arm. The final toy ended up not being able to do that, leaving you with some fat wheel thing stuck on one arm. So yeah, while missing paints apps are a bummer, it's not the worst thing Hasbro has done! |

That’s interesting. Don’t remember that with Samurai Prowl but then that toy took forever to come out over here. Will have to look that up.
I’m no stranger to Hasbro’s habit of having prototypes look better than the eventual figures but it really annoys me when they go and use those images on the packaging. I genuinely thought my Shadow was defective for five minutes or so when I noticed the difference.

I'm not an MMPR person and even I ended up going for Zedd just cause he's an iconic villain. And between the two LC releases I went for, he blows Shadow Ranger out of the water in terms of detail and articulation. While he does have his small shortcomings, mainly the tubes on the back hindering him just a little, it's not enough to really hold him back at all.
And even then, stuff like his unpainted hands you can fix yourself if you don't mind the extra effort. Took gundam markers to both him and Shadow Ranger and the results looked way better even for an amateur attempt. |

I don't have any attachment to this yet, but I'm assuming I'll freak out with joy when I finally watch (Zyuranger?), but I'd be inclined to pick this up anyway because it's so clearly a strong Sentai/PR monster design, and my Sentai Figuarts need somebody to... beat up? Pose next to? Somethin'.

I’m usually only into mecha for PR/Sentai stuff, but when a local Target had the full assortment for this wave, I was torn between Shadow Ranger & Zedd. Shadow Ranger is great & all but now I wish I had picked up Zedd, too. He is just such a good villain design even if you don’t know/care about PR. Also the figure is a gutsy on because you really can’t reuse parts from this mold on future figures, as Hasbro likes to do with Transformers & Marvel.

In the event that I am, I'll clarify to non-MMPR P.R. fans: Lord Zedd is a P.R.-exclusive villain and the first such villain/monster for the franchise! You won't see him in Sentai! In the event that I am the one who misconstrued: My bad! |

Not surprised that they did a damn good job here, out of all of the potential figures they could make, this is the one that had the highest expectations
