I'm just going to start calling Takaharu, Yakumo, and Kasumi Yakko, Wakko, and Dot instead. We'll make Nagi Dr Scratchnsniff, and Fuuka can be Hello Nurse.
That's pretty much how this series feels right now. It's crazy whack, and I don't mind one bit, I've got the baloney in my pants to prove it. Also, I'm very surprised by how well Drive translates into the Ninninger universe. Watching the previews for the Grand Prix and next weeks special 1 hour combo episode feels like they were made for each other. Like marshmallows and melted butter.

Wow, for a currently airing Super Sentai show, this serie is losing more steam than ever on the forum. Even ToQGer last longer until most of the forumers lost interest.
This said, this was a Momoninjer focused episo... oh look, aliens. Yeah, like the almost-Kininjer episode, it feels like it miss the point. If the show doesn't provide strong characters or memorable villains or epic clashes, it'll get really little affection.

Some shows are better at handling this toy thing than others, but when a show just doesn't have enough character to keep itself interesting without having a new toy show up I just drop out. The rest of the show just feels stale at that point. Now with Sentai we just have the same episodes every year, and that our rangers need to learn about team work. Now granted this is a kids show, but they, the writers can always change up the formula every once in a while. It's one of the reasons I loved Go-Busters. While having some of the same tropes, it was still able to tell a story without relying on toys. |

Well, this happened. I like Kasumi a lot at this point, but the whole "oh no, she may leave college" thing was so rushed that I barely had a chance to notice it starting up before it was resolved. So was the "evil monster pretending to be good," thing, which will never, ever be done as well as it was on Jetman. Everything else was just kinda random and forgettable, aside from that good end joke with The evil general.

The plot wasn't brilliant but I did like Kasumi's science focus, although Yakumo was completely useless this episode. UFOmaru was kinda cool but I wish they spread out the auxiliaries more and I felt like it would be better if Katsumi got to pilot it, rather than red having everything as always.

I thought the episode was actually pretty good this week. UFOmaru was really cool and enjoyed the monster more than I thought I would have. I was hoping the balloons would do something cooler than projecting images but oh well. I'm still waiting for them to do something interesting story wise. I get the main plot is for someone to become the next "Last Ninja" but I'm hoping something a little more compelling takes place soon.

I personally just am tired of all of these super hyper and happy red rangers. The more serious red's like Takeru and Marvelous were much more memorable. I just can't deal with these shows that have so many toys like Drive, and the show literally has to stop to advertise them. It all feels like the writers can't and don't know how to handle all of these toys, and I'm just tired of that.

This show continues to exist, but Kasumi was awesome, mostly because SCIENCE!! I wish she'd got to use the zord at the end, but red ranger focus I can understand. I feel that they should have spaced the robots out a little more, though- they have two in the first five episodes, and this one came out of nowhere at the end of the episode.
And I agree with Kiryu- it would be good if they could come up with another plot than "We need emotions for reasons." Especially since I'm watching Shinkenger at the same time, and it feels just like that. Especially with Red Guy and Juzo, although the end joke was good. And the girl villain looks like she has a) a plan and b) a hammer, which makes her cool. Overall, I feel that this series mostly needs to improve both its characters and its pacing. If it does that, it could be a good show. But right now, it's juts... there.

This episode was even worse than last week's. At least the fact that Taka forgot about Kiba was funny, but I really hope all of the new mechs are not his.
