Yes that was a thing. The Dragonic Cannon to be exact, it was the head and core/spine piece of Dyna Dragon.

So yes Gridknight toy to go with the DX Dynazenon. Hope it's more figma sized and can actually do stuff.

Which - isn't bad I guess? The little Gridman figure was the best part of the DX Gridman set for me. I just wonder if it’s going to be sold by itself or if they include some accessories? New partners for him to combine with? We should find out next week. @Topic: This week’s episode was interesting in the sense that monsters are really "born" from humans I guess; Yomogi has one of these pearls inside him. So the finale at the end will probably be either him turning into or giving birth to a monster? Also, the Diaclone cameo was neat. I guess that was possible due to Takara’s recent crossover with the Gridman universe. |

Ooh a Gridknight figure with normal shoulders?!
I think I may pick this one up even if I don't get Dynazenon. He'd make a fine addition to my Ultra Shelf. |

They've been alluding to it for a while now, but we finally get a glimpse at what Chise's school experience was like...and it didn't look fun. It seemed like she might not have been outright bullied, as far as we can see, but she was definitely isolated and utterly alone in school, and she expressed herself through her art. And maybe gave herself a tattoo? That's what's she's covering up? And then she starts feeling isolated from the Dynazenon Team.
But then her Kaiju awakens and turns everything around. Goldburn is a mecha dragon like Kaiju, fitting for what turns out to be a support Kaiju for Dynazenon and Gridknight (just like Dyna Dragon was for Gridman), and he answers to Chise's heart so he fights for justice and protects her friends like she wants. Have to say, that turned out a lot better than I was expecting. Plus it finally gives Chise a place with the team, which is great. Yume asked Yomogi to go to the festival with her! She also kind of seemed bummed about him inviting the rest of the team to go. Even her best friend thinks Yomogi is practically her boyfriend at this point. Kano's old boyfriend shows up and tells the pair that, while he didn't see Kano getting bullied (not that it confirms she wasn't), he didn't think of her as the type who would kill herself. Which, I guess considering she might've been more open with him than she was with her own family given what we know, we might be able to take at face-value. But that doesn't really satisfy Yume and her grief over what happened with her sister and how, accident or otherwise, no one was able to save her. And the poor girl emotionally breaks down. I love how Yomogi prioritizes the Kaiju for once and then Gauma shoots him in the face to get his act together to go after his goals. Gauma is a real bro and understands how you don't just abandon your woman when she's in need. Yume is feeling like there was no point to her life or the fight with the Kaiju, but it let her really get to know Yomogi and find a group of friends she can rely on. When meet a guy who will tackle a dragon mecha to save you, you've made a good life choice. With Goldburn in tow, it's time for them to finally all combine into Super Dragon King Kaiser Gridknight! And everything about it is epic! The transformation sequence, it's design, it's utter power, even it's energy cape! It is the perfect combined final form for Dynazenon, Goldburn, and Gridknight. Well, now the Eugenecists are in a bit of a bind. The heroes are at their strongest and it seems like they're running out of Kaiju to use. I wonder what's their next move? I love how the team all come together and run to the festival, with Anti and Second in tow, and even missing the festival they still have fun with fireworks. Yume sure had the best reason for going home when she comes back looking stunning in a yukata, and it sure left an impact on Yomogi. Watching them make fireworks together was really sweet. Heck, even Anti and Second are doing it together, which is also really cute. |

So... I need someone to pick up the phone.

So Theory: We're in for a bait and switch, we're all worried about Chise but I've started to wonder about sort of... her situation. Like, it's clear she wants to help out but feels like a bit of an outlier/third wheel so to speak when it comes to the group.
In comes Chise via her new "kaiju" but it's different than the others. Given her desire to want to help out it ends up being more mechanical/dynazenon/grid-person in nature. It will have a singular mode, but it will also have two additional modes. A mode to combine with Gridknight and empower him, and a mode to where it allows for a smoother/cleaner link up between the soldier-less Dynazenon and Gridknight. So this episode we get introduced to the best boy of the episode, Goldburn. He's a cute little gold dragon that keeps growing until he's about the size of Gridknight and Dynazenon. I enjoy him a lot, and it was cool to sorta see my confirmation on stuff about Chise, the fact that she's felt like a third wheel but also isolated in general. But instead of going the "Kaiju are bad" route, which it veers close to several times because of her mood throughout the episode, she manages to find her ground and Goldburn becomes a great ally in the end. Also it was brief, but I suppose the reason she hides her arm is because she has a tattoo? I also enjoyed the development in the Yume and Yomogi segments of the episode. It was honestly heartbreaking to see Yume break down like that. Sometimes, accidents happen and there is no real intent or such behind a person's death, especially given how Yume herself almost accidentally bit the dust during the later half. Of course though with Goldburn treated as an ally and both Dynazenon at full power they're able to do one of my favorite Super Robot/Brave tropes ever... combine into Super Dragon King Kaiser Gridknight! I got legit chills during this sequence and it really lends to the fact that I'm much more of a Mecha guy than an Ultraman guy in regards to aesthetics. Seriously though, it had an energy cape! I love energy cloths! I loved Ichi-Gata's energy scarf, and I love King Kaiser Gridknight's energy cape too! And we get a really cool action sequence to boot too! And now I'm really curious as to where we're going from here. Because it looks like we've finally sort of found and hit resolution on all of our normal cast members. Or at least, they're in better places than they were at the start of the series. Not to mention the Kaiju Eugenicists look to be on the ropes as they are running out of Kaiju, and they couldn't even control Goldburn due to him rejecting their Instance Domination. Oh right though, the ending with all of them doing their own little fireworks festival was cute for a non standard credits. Last edited by Enchilada645; 05-28-2021 at 10:07 AM.. |

Anywho, haven't been able to watch (used to during my lunch break but can't do that anymore) and my curiosity got the better of me so have read plenty of spoilers now... I don't think we're done with Chise's stuff yet, but am so glad to hear things don't turn out as horribly as I expected.

Does anyone know the song that's playing while they first combine into Dynazenon? I know for a fact I've heard it before in this series and I'm 90% sure I heard the lyric version in Gridman but I can't find it on the soundtrack and I'm going crazy over here.
