This episode won me over. Last we was mostly for flash. This week, we get to know some rangers and I have a reason to give a damn now.
The Megazord is kind of lame. I can only hope they use it sparingly (which they probably won't). Nobu is great. A family man isn't something I see in rangers that often. Plus, he makes a good agruement in this episode. Daigo's is just better. Ami's the Horny Heroine with the drill that will pierce the heavens...stop looking at me like that. We were all thinking it! DeBoss Generals...I laugh everytime they're on screen. These guys are great. Red, well... You are a wise man Daigo. I will call you King. Now go talk some sense into Spider-Man. |

Weird? It makes probably the most logical sense I've heard of in a long time.lol.Also as for Green and Black just standing around,I think they'll join them in Kyoryujin's "cockpit" after the next episode.During the credits all 5 of them are in there.
I understand Green and Black on the ground while they fought on Kyoryujin, but what confuses me is why did they even show up? Red,Blue, and Pink fought the smaller enemies, beat them,Black and Green show up to say hey, then just disappear again cause Red,Blue and Pink form Kyoryujin.Nothing against Black and Green, but why show up to do nothing? They could've just stayed away, saying they were doing more important things or stuck with family.Given their characters I would've believed it and it wouldn't have made them look useless.

Okay, I'm definitely sold on the heroes now. Villains... still don't like them, but at least they did something this episode instead of just standing around and sharing their emotion motifs.
Kyoryujin... that has got to be the most ridiculous way to summon robots ever. While I do agree that Black and Green were pretty useless this episode, I like how it looks like they're slowly getting more members in the roll call. This episode had Red, Blue, and Pink, next adds Green, and the 4th will probably have Black. It's like Kakuranger...

I figured I'd like Blue.
I was correct. I also enjoy that they're not playing the secret identity thing straight, subverting it instance after instance (I don't have a problem with the sister not knowing because having the daughter as a confidant is charming). I'm kind of getting a Kakuranger vibe, choosing to establish the rangers in this kind of way. While Kaku had them not get their powers until their respective introductory episode, the overall feeling of what they're doing is still present. Also, please don't tell me that's how they'll grow the monsters. That method must be the most easily counterable method we've seen yet. Just stop them from pouring the water. Anyway, I'm still not won over by Kyoryujin.

I can see your point about them being able to easily stop them growing the monsters, but the same could be said for past sentai series. In Goseiger those bat things would show up,and the Goseigers would see them.So why not shoot them? I like the way they grow in this series cause they explain it and it actually makes sense. Not saying its a smart choice of how they grow, but its logical. There probably will be an episode where they stop them, but if not then they'll probably have a different method of growing them later.

Just watched the sub and I really enjoyed it. I think it was fine that green and black didn't do much this episode and rather develop blue and pink. I think the underlying theme was "To unlock your potential and fully work together as a team, you have to learn how to trust each other" and that totally works for me. If green and black can't trust the others with their identities, then how can the others trust them to be there when they need them.
Anyways, I dig Kyoryujin. Not crazy about the drawn out battery swapping, but the rest of it worked. Was the transformation CGI? It looked like it wasn't which is pretty cool in my book. Oh, and I liked King's first henshin in this episode. Simultaneously beating up paisleys while doing the Samba made it much less silly... kind of. Also, it doesn't look that bad when the 3 did it together. Last edited by conundrum; 02-25-2013 at 10:56 PM.. |

I knew Blue was awesome the minute I saw the mohawk helmet.I really need to find a gif of him smashing the monster with the kids trex statue and have OOO make a sig of it.lol.

This, it requires at least one human sized monster to run up to the downed monster and water them, making it the most easily countered source.

But the concept of the bats in Gosei presents the argument that they're small, fast targets (And multiple ones at that). Others had the villains grow on their own power (Kaku, Geki), or by an uncounterable source, such as magic or laser beams (Zyu, Gokai).
This, it requires at least one human sized monster to run up to the downed monster and water them, making it the most easily countered source. Also never understood how shooting an enemy with a giant laser made them grow.lol.But I see your point.I just think this method makes alot of sense.Sure its counterable, but they'll probably make it harder for them to counter.

There's a ton of things in Sentai that's easily countered or dodged. I mean, what's the monster doing while the megazord is being formed? Just go with it.
