This was definitely the best episode so far and I wasn't really sold on the non ''human'' characters until now, mainly because cause i like to read faces for emotional cues but Raptor's story was great and did the emotional side despite the the ''suit'' and i admit i did go aww a few times with it
The whole earth thing does worry me slightly as i think it was too soon to go there since they made a big fact in the first two episodes that this was a galaxy spanning show so im hoping it will be just for a few episodes and im guessing likely return to earth for the finale too Although given the state Earth was in, i would have liked to have heard or seen about the other Sentai that might have been on earth or could have been there, If it wasn't for the anniversary the Gokaiger crossover they did with Zyuohger might have worked better here - Space Pirates and Space Rebels whats not to like?, Im not sure what to make of the Kyulette, it's a clever story device, i just wish my mind didn't scream rigged when i saw it I loved the little Transformation Lesson short this week too, i wish it was longer than it was mainly cause Raptor and Spada were adorable and funny in equal measure Lucky's toning down was welcomed slightly, He seems like he's on a permanent sugar rush, i'm guessing they will do an episode where an monster makes him down and mutter unlucky a million times I'm off to get the Washi Pink Figure now, definitely the best Sentai Pink in a while

Oh, man. When it was announced that they'd be going to Earth, my toku-watching friend said "Uh-oh" simultaneously. I know it was practically inevitable due to cost reasons, but MAAAAAN! That's disheartening, if only because I was enjoying how well the series was managing to feel like it's set someplace other than standard Sentai shows.
Otherwise, I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. The Kyulette was incredibly bizarre in a mostly-fun way, even thought it's also kind of anticlimactic to find out that this is the mechanism they'll use to manage the cast size for purposes of fight choreography. That it's episode four and the core team still hasn't been assembled (even though the narrative beats that will get him onto the team have been laid down) is a really, really good sigh. (Tangent: they're treating Stinger so much like a traditional sixth hero that I'll be shocked if he's not a Legend card when he's released in Super Sentai Legend Wars.) |
