So I was at London comic con and got a close up of the zord and got a glimpse of the megazord head.

Yup.
I hate modern Sentai mecha that just breat apart and call it "transforming." A little bit here and there is understable. A tail that detaches to be a weapon, a helmet that comes out from under a zord for the Megazord. But I really hope that, at most, the tail comes off and that's it. |

*edit: nevermind, I found another picture with a better angle and it appears as though the helmet has a silver front with red sides. Hopefully we'll see more paint by the final release.

It's comments like his where I try to imagine the thought process.
Like his brain pulls overtime hardcore, tryign to come up with something "Ugh...guh... do... not like... must... insult... brain, must.... POOP! IT LOOKS LIKE POOP!!" He blurts out, smoke coming from his ears. Like I don't like the thing myself, but at least I try and describe my dislike for it better than an infant can. To be fair that was decades ago, though. Much like how Kamen Rider belts are constantly trying to become more interactive (for better or worse) I'd like to think this would continue the trend and actually do something worthwhile. |

I'm pretty sure we're seeing the top of the helmet in that pic.

But the morpher is boring both visually and in function. Just a little extra spice is all I ask for so it's not totally devoid of identity. Something that moves, like if the apeture could open and close. Simple is good most of the time, but this is too simple. Quote:
That's true for 1993, and I'd say it's true today.

That's why I said for better or worse. I'd rather something not be good trying something new than not be good doing what's already been done. Ex-Aid's belt sucks, but then you have really clever and streamlined belts like the Sengoku driver, or at least nicely featured sound and lightboxes like the Drive belt. But the morpher is boring both visually and in function. Just a little extra spice is all I ask for so it's not totally devoid of identity. Something that moves, like if the apeture could open and close. Simple is good most of the time, but this is too simple. Except it isn't true, since the toy looks boring as shit. It'd like to think we've, yknow, progressed with progress, not regressed. |

We heard that the "Stomp and Chomp Grimlock" was a pretty well received toy. So we decided to just make it again. All we have to do is switch out the Optimus for a Red Ranger and no one will ever notice. Brilliant!
I get that the PR Movie wants to be more 'realistic' than the campiness of the TV shows and their zords that look like toys. Transformers wanted to do the same when they started making movies. But this T-Rex looks like something straight out of a Transformers 5: Age of Power Rangers. Last edited by Lucky; 10-30-2016 at 02:20 PM.. |
