Thomas the Tank Engine is still popular with kids so I highly doubt the idea that 'trains aren't popular with kids'. I'm still convinced that the real reason behind not adapting ToQGer was the infamous ToQ Boner.

I have always believed that ToQger can be adapted, and I'll never not believe that. And it should also be said that if ToQger can be adapted and made into a success story, then Zenkaiger is literally and figuratively "child's play". |

I just noticed that the black portion of the feet for Gaon and Zyuran have obvious fingers, so I guess the silver parts rotate away to reveal hands for arms in some combination. I think I see a thumb on one of Gaon's feet.
Unrelated, I really feel for those suit actors. Even ZenKaiser has the kind of stiff upper-body shell usually reserved for late-series power-ups and Kamen Riders. The ZenKaiser suit is really interesting. That red stripe and the red cape interior seems to be an attempt to make ensure that visually, people recognize that the white hero here is also the red senshi for this series. I'm curious about the arrow symbol. The significance of the V is clear enough, but it's the line extending from it that interests me. The zig-zaggy lines look like a pair of fangy maws reminiscent of what's on Zyuran's shoulder, and I'm reminded of the information we got suggestion there's a change mechanism that brings to mind something about Ultraman's Scylla. Totally baffled as to how that might work mechanically. |

With regards to ToQger, Thomas the tank engine is popular with a different age group than what ToQger would be aiming for in the US. The thing about trains not being popular outside of Japan is moreso that trains are super popular in Japan and ToQger still performed poorly. So taking that data and, excuse the pun, imaging how that might translate to the US where trains are not a national staple, and the show is expected to have dinosaurs and beasts. Too risky. Personally, while I like the ToQger suit design, I can see how it takes the stuff US audiences like the least about Power Rangers (spandex, literal toy on the wrist) and leaves out the "cool" stuff (armor, hi-tech gadgets/weapons)

Here's hoping the bonus rangerbot is ninja based.

I'm fucking loving the Zenkaiger suits so much. Yea, I expect the action to be a little more slow to compensate for the more bulky suits, but I think I'm a bit fine with that.
As for potential 6ths, I think that it'll definitely be someone based on an earlier season that had a prominent 6th ranger (We can scratch off Zyuranger if we're to assume that there's no repeats). |

Slightly off topic I know, but has anyone at Saban ever actually said that ToQger's' train theme was the main reason it got skipped and not because, well, Dinosaurs and Ninjas are more of a safe zone? I know the fandom has theorized it as the reason, but I don't recall any official statement about it.
The train boner thing seems likely too. It's probably a mix of all three - train's aren't too popular here, dinosaurs and ninjas (the next two seasons) are super popular, and the megazord has a boner.

Those two reasons aren't mutually exclusive though...in fact, they fit together quite nicely.
The train boner thing seems likely too. It's probably a mix of all three - train's aren't too popular here, dinosaurs and ninjas (the next two seasons) are super popular, and the megazord has a boner. - Don't use Chain Shadow's Megazord Battle! - Shorten the time spent during the Megazord Battle against Chain Shadow. - The front of Red Ressha is shown folding upward onto the chest during the standard ToQOh transformation. Refilm the combination sequence of ToQOh to remove this so as to not even hint at the possibility of Red Ressha doing anything stupid or awkward. - Let the DX Hasbro version be constructed in such a manner that the Megazord train chest is locked in place when the head is connected, therefore it would be virtually impossible to adjust the parts to echo that dumb joke. If the Ep. 3 joke isn't the primary reason, but the theme is, then the focus should on the story and not just the theme. Lean into all the previous moments trains have been significant to the franchise (train-focused episodes or train-themed Megazords), while simultaneously focusing more on the story and the characters around the theme. In my mind, a train-themed Ranger team would occur from an in-universe standpoint by accident; it's not planned by anyone to give teenagers the "Power of Trains", but rather something that just happens. Remember, Dino Charge's backstory was that the Energems were bonded to dinosaurs, but not necessarily planned by Keeper to give Earth people the "Power of Dinosaurs"! On a purely Zenkaiger level, we haven't seen how the "Sentai Gear" gimmick will work yet so it's possible that ToQger wouldn't even factor into it heavily. Even Gokaiger short-changed some of their predecessors; they changed into some teams more than others. I look at that Zenkaiger poster and see a P.R. adaptation a mile wide on that basis alone. The less Zenkaiger references an un-adapted team, the better its chances for an adaptation. That being said, one has to also get a feel for the villains themselves before making an accurate assessment. Still got a few days before the official website goes live and reveals more details. I’m sorry but. We can’t seriously be considering like 8 frames of one episode as a reason against adapting.
This is way off topic anyway; this is a Zenkaiger thread, not powerful rangers

ToQOh did that joke in Ep. 3 against Chain Shadow. There are a few means for a P.R.
