I'll admit I'm a Ben 10 fan. I enjoyed the original and Alien Force (and to a slightly lesser extent Ultimate Alien) so when I found out that the mind behind the awesome Transformers Animated was doing the fourth series, Omniverse I wanted to see if it's going to live up to its hype.
From what I saw in the sneak peek it's like the show's on the good road. Having Gwen and Kevin be minor characters is a damn good move since they kinda wore out their welcome with me. Plus Ben might be getting less egotistical and act more like a hero.Rook is going to interesting to see how he acts on the show, but so far he seems cool. Having 10 or 11 year Ben have a little bit to play each episode is an odd choice but given how divided the fandom is on whenever Ben should be a kid or a teen, this seems like a happy medium. The voice work is phenomenal as to be expected from a series Cartoon Network wants to hype as much as it can. Hearing David Kaye and Bummer Robbieson is a treat to the ears. If there's a fault I have, it's that the art design is going to take some getting used to and of course the writers might make Ben a superbrat again, but I'm willing to give this show a chance. Anything is better than lameass Digon and the need to undo any character development just to please diehard OS fans(looking at you Charmcaster and Argit!) I'll give the first episode a 8.1 out of 10. After the death of Thundercats this show is CN's big shining star. Let's hope it doesn't suck.(hint hint Redikai, Squirrel Boy and The Problem Solverz) |

The reason Feedback is in the 10 year old time frame:Retcons. The very same reason we lost magic to alien everything and mana.

I have yet to see the new series yet.
But I desperately hope they either change how Ben fights, or return the Omnitrix malfunctions. Ben's strategy was always "Pick big guy, punch things", in the original series, it was mitigated by the fact that he didn't always get Four Arms, and would have to use his head to win his fights. In Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, he gained full control of the Omnitrix/Ultimatrix, and all the fights were just "HUMONGOSAUR!" (Sometimes Rath) and just punch until the villain goes down. I'm willing to give this new series a chance, but only if they tweak the series so that Ben can't just spam the same 3 aliens for 50 episodes straight or make the villains less of a walk through for Ben...

After listening to the theme song by Party Gripp I'm more into how this series will run. It's so catchy!
I'm hoping there's going to be a full version of this down the line.

Rise from your grave!
I'm loving the new direction they're taking with this series! Getting rid of Gwen and Kevin and adding Rook brought new life to the show, plus everything looks so much more animated now. Ben's aliens' new looks are going to take some getting used too, but now the show has a steady tone, great voice actors(Bumper Robinson and David Kaye FTW!) and of course the Party Gripp song! Here's hoping the shows goes on strong! |
