Do you prefer Rangers and Riders to have holsters and sheathes for their weapons attached to their suits, like Kamen Rider Blade or the Zyurangers, or do you prefer more streamlined suits where weapons are pulled from offscreen or summoned? I personally prefer suits with weapon storage, it feels a bit more realistic, and I think it looks better too. Always loved when video games show your weapons on your character, and I think that ended up extending to my toku tastes too,

It varies. Even in Zyuranger, the personal weapons were there when needed without the need for a holster (though Zyuranger 43 had Geki pull the Ryugekiken from the holster area)!
I think it depends on the team and the suit design and the particular weapon. Gokaiger didn't have holsters, and virtually nobody faults them for it. Holsters probably wouldn't have worked for those designs anyway. Holsters might make sense on the actual show, but when you translate that design into a figure, then that same holster could restrict how one poses that figure. The Kakuranger designs had their blades stored in sheaths/scabbards on their backs, and that particular design choice made sense for them and compensated for any issue with posing a figure based on those designs (be it a Kakuranger or Alien Ranger figure). It gets more complicated when you consider those with two holsters, like Ohranger. Were two holsters really necessary, or is Ohranger forgivable in that regard? They probably weren't the first to do it, and definitely not the last. DekaRed had two holsters if memory served, but the others had one (as their grip thingy just clipped to the belt on the opposite side). It all varies. No singular answer in my mind. |

Well, since i love collecting their figure, i hate it when the holster disturb the articulation, but i also need it for their weapon holder when i play with it. Yes, i play it, not just put it in my cabinet. Even i wish Saber’s holster is useable in the RKFs. So, by having a holster would be increase the playability.
Sadly, a holster will always be a hinder since the plastic can’t be too thin To be useful to hold the weapon. Atleast for todays technology that I know. Soo... as long the holster is well integrated with the toys design, i’ll love it.

I prefer some kind of holster or other obvious source (like the Faiz Edge being part of Auto Vajin or Ryuki’s sword being summoned by a card). It’s always a little immersion-breaking to see something like Gentaro pulling that giant rocket sword from out of nowhere.

I'll admit, I haven't watched Zyuranger yet, but I swear in MMPR they pulled the blade blasters out of their holsters a few times. I might be thinking of the original S2 and 3 footage though

You aren't wrong. The holsters were specifically meant for the Blade Blasters/Ranger Sticks, but there was one instance (at least) in which Geki pulled his personal sword from around the holster area/belt area even though there isn't an apparatus for the Ryugekiken/Power Sword to be stored in that area!

Ah, sorry, misunderstood what you meant. I should have looked up the weapon you mentioned before presuming what it's PR equivalent was
