The last time a sentai weapon was ever realistic was Vul Eagle II's sword if I remember correctly. It was JUST A KATANA.
Either that or JAKQ's little old timey cannon with the obnoxious ornament.

Sentai arsenals were plenty realistic or at least believable for years after Sun Vulcan. It's only in the recent decade give or take that they've become more and more toyish in appearance on the show itself.
