What is the etymology of Heisei Rider names? For example, Kiva is a likely play on 'Kiba', or 'Fang'. Kuuga is a word derived from the Grongi themselves, but where was it sourced from during the conception stage? Same for Agito, Faiz, Hibiki?

Agito derives from the latin word agito which means I move. Ryuki literally Dragon Knight Faiz derives from the greek alphabet phi and its input code 555 > fives > Faiz Blade from its motif suit spade being related to the word spada which means sword Hibiki from the word hibiki(響き) which means ringing in relations to his concept Kabuto from his motif which is in Japanese kabutomushi Den-O from Densha no Ou which means king of trains Kiva like you said derives from the Japanese word for fang, but also means King of Vampires Decade because it is the 10th rider W from the word double and the fact that w is pronounced daburyuu in Japanese probably factors in too OOO from its three medals setup made up of three O shaped medals and partially king Fourze > Four Zero > 40th anniversary Wizard... self explainatory Gaim from the show's concept being about armored warfare(gai being armor and m/mu being warfare) Ghost cause he starts as a dead dude and pretty much utilizes ghosts Ex-Aid means Extreme Aid Build cause he gets built using the essence in the full bottles

Ex-Aid also can be a reference to the .exe file extension.

Actually, I remember hearing Agito was an old way one could say the Japanese word for gills. Imperer is likely a play on Impaler too and Garren's a corruption of Galleon

IXA is actually probably named for the Japanese word "ikusa," meaning battle or war, given his crusader motifs.
