Over-Time has the RAW up for Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO: Movie War Mega Max! Go check it out and get some discussion going! We should probably get subs for this within about a week, so get ready for it!

I've been looking forward to this but I'm beginning to wonder whether I should hold off on it until I've watched OOO, given its basically going to ruin the ending for me otherwise.
But I want to see Rocket States dammit

Oh yeah you really do need to watch OOO. Otherwise the whole a Certain Someone being around in Mega max thing won't matter to you. Not to spoil it but you need to see OOO, at least the end of it.

And I helped!
I really, really enjoyed this movie. But I love Sakamoto's fight scenes. And yes, this movie basically picks up where OOO left off regarding a certain spoiler, so if you care about that (and you should with this one!) make sure you've seen OOO first. You're dangerously close to spoiling it yourself! Edit that name, perhaps?

The OOO portion was awesome! It easily made up for OOO's portion in last year's Movie War. It continued the story of OOO in a plausible manner and didn't drag on (You really should watch all of OOO before watching the OOO portion). The two unique riders have an awesome design (Villain) and a meh design (Hero), the Ankh's return was actually interesting while still being heartwarming and optimistic (Without being a total cop-out like Philip). And it's always great to see Ankh again.
The Fourze portion...Just, no. I couldn't stand Nadeshiko. Gen's crush on her was extremely shallow, almost ENTIRELY physical, as she had no emotion or personality whatsoever until right before she was kidnapped (And yes, I know people get crushes based on looks alone. I'm not an idiot. But they treated Gen's crush on her as if it was true love, which was total bullshit). The rest just felt par for the course, for the Fourze portion. Like an extended episode, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'd still rate it as superior to OOO's portion last year. The rest of the movie was mixed. Of the unique monster designs, only one was visually interesting (Black Guy's Mutamid form). Seeing The Magnificent 7 and Double again were awesome. Also seeing Stronger lead is kinda touching considering what happened earlier this year (Despite this movie being made before his death). And every scene with Gentarou and Shotarou. Freaking hilarious! |

That. Was. Magnificent.
I'd rank this film right up there with 199 heroes in the awesomeness department. And while I agree with Matrixbeast that the Fourze portion could have been a little better, overall it was fantastic. The way they brought the Legendary 7 back for the final fight was fantastic, the future Riders had interesting, albeit simplistic, designs. And more W is always a good thing.

Gentarou just takes weirdness to a whole new level. Loved seeing Shotarou again and these 2 together is just hilarious )
