Power Rangers producer straight up deconfirming Kyuranger and Lupat adaptions ever happening. Do with this info what you will
https://twitter.com/thedex1998/statu...36603015196676 Guess that's two more Sentai I can add to my list to check out in the future.

https://twitter.com/thedex1998/statu...36603015196676 I feel like Kyuranger would actually be perfect for the 30th anniversary, and the way to balance the characters is to do a double-focus episode. a-plot & b-plot. Plus this could cut out lots of superfluous characters. Who needs a Jane & J-Borg when you use the Rangers for more comic relief situations, which can help give more personality and build on them? With some of the non-human characters (Champ, Balance, Shou), they don't have to have massive stories. Alpha didn't need to go through a massive ark to be likable, his character was written in a way that allowed for the audience to gain personality & character off interactions with the others alone. Plus it was heavily implied that pre-Beast Morphers, Kyuranger was the intended next adaptation. So if it could work for a production team in 2018, why can't it work for a production team in 2022? I think that the few remaining unadapted Sentai are really not the move. It's been said before that Zyuogher & Toqger are off the table, Kirameiger's monster designs are too goofy, and Zenkaiger just flat out wouldn't work. So either they're picking Kirameiger as that's (in theory) the next best option, or they're really banking on whatever Sentai is releasing in 2022 (which even they won't know until announcement). At least with Saban it was (it was said that the cube gimmick wouldn't sell or something like that). However, I will say that with Saban & Hasbro going back and picking up Go-Busters after 6 years at the time, there is a chance anything could be used (well, except Toqger, rip to her).
Personally? I'm hoping Simon's deflecting theories so that way whatever it is, it'll come as a surprise. I could still very much see as Kyuranger done for the 30th. |

Honestly, I thought Kyuranger and LupinPatren had the best chance of getting adapted for 2023/2024 or 2025/2026, so this information is both a surprise to me and also a serious disappointment as someone who was very excited about seeing LupinPatren adapted.
Kyuranger having "too many Rangers" is at least a better reason than Dorado Yellow's visor being too pointy, since that's something that could have been easily blunted for merchandise. Whereas too many Rangers can be considered both an asset and a liability. Sure, it means more suits, bigger actions scenes, but it also means more lead actors that Hasbro would need to pay. I guess Hasbro are less willing to gamble on that than Saban were. Personally, I'm not fond of Kyuranger's aesthetic and I was pushing for Zyuohger before Beast Morphers was announced, so I'm not too disappointed about this getting skipped. The biggest loss is missing out on a potential Captain Chaku crossover. "Rangers can't be criminals" has been suggested by some people as a reason why LupinPatren would get skipped. I would point out that Jack, Z and Will were all once criminals before they got drafted in to the Power Rangers, but that's also when their crime careers ended as they started fighting within the law. So I guess it's not totally unfair to deem phantom thieves nonviable based on that. "Rangers can't be cops" on the other hand.... Did Bennett even watch SPD? So he opposes both law and chaos? What. I can't even. I remember being so inspired by Keiichirou's dedication to his principles of protecting the peace and happiness of the people. So seeing Bennett claim Rangers can't be cops seems completely antithetical to the values that Power Rangers represent, as lawful good heroes who fight crime and evil! I totally disagree with whatever he's insinuating here and lose respect for him, since it could deter kids from aspiring to be on the force and missing out on great role models like Keiichirou. So with those two shows vetoed, that pretty much leaves Zyuohger, Kiramager and Zenkaiger. I overlooked Kiramager before since their mecha were similar to LupinPatren's, but that's no longer an issue. The Marrskmen might be considered too simple though and the show doesn't really have a lot of anniversary elements like Zyuohger and Zenkaiger do, despite airing on the actual 45th anniversary. Personally, if they're definitely skipping Kyuranger and LupinPatren, as unfortunate as that is, then I would love to see how they would adapt Zyuohger and maybe even get that SMF crossover I've been waiting for. Otherwise, Zenkaiger's a great option as well for how many references it gives to MMPR. Anyway, does anybody have anything to add on my previous Mucus and Slyther topic starter? The moment I talk about PR, the thread goes dead. And I really want to hear what people think of those two characters and their dynamic, before we see the new episodes in October.

SPD was also 10+ plus and created in a very different political climate.
Bennett didn't say Rangers can't be cops, just that the concept of doing cop Rangers is extremely problematic given current events. No matter how well the show respectfully writes around and explores the idea, the sheer concept of it is going always to court some amount of controversy and bad PR. Seriously though, Mucus and Slyther, what are you thoughts on them? Please tell me.

I again think that most people who want to discuss power rangers have moved to other more PR-specific boards; it seems it doesn't get more than a mention in discussions here. Just how it goes I suppose

Then is there an active and non-toxic place that you know of where I can join for PR-specific discussion? I would appreciate that.
