Revealed through Mezco's "Comic-Con@Home", they're gonna release 5 points of articulation figures of Ultraman and Red King.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the license in the future – Mezco is currently best known for their “One:12 Collection”, 1:12 figures with clothed bodies. Maybe a seamless Ultraman figure is coming in the future? https://twitter.com/mezcotoyz/status...45817742282752 |

It's 2020, why are companies still making 5 PoA figures?

Retro stuff sells like hotcakes with the right crowd, and the Ultra/Kaiju fandom is that crowd.
Would love to see a One:12 Collection figure but Mezco knew exactly what they were doing with these. Can't really fault 'em.

And companies like NECA and Super7 are doing retro stuff too. Well, NECA so far are taking old toylines and remaking them with modern technology last I checked such as their Aliens toyline that are pretty much the Kenner Aliens toyline but with an overall upgrade in terms of sculpture and whatnot. Super7 has this almost Funkopop way of doing things where they have a simple sculpture template and just pump out stuff that looks like something you would see in late 80s ~ early 90s ToysR'Us.

The audience for this stuff is all adults. Vintage is nostalgic to the older generations. Kids still play with toys, but they are mostly interested in video games. They are not the ones primarily buying SHF or NECA or the like. And definitely not stuff from 80s and 90s properties!
