Dino Charge is what got me back into Power Rangers Collecting and I especially love it that with this series we are getting so many rangers. 10 rangers (11 if we get Talon) and a lot of alternate forms (Dino Drive, Dino Steel, Super Dino Drive) to really allow people to collect a ton or pick out their favorites.
Looking at the toy-only Zords we've gotten made me think though... am I the only one that wants toy-only/toy-exclusive rangers and forms? I know that many toy lines, especially in the past, loved to do toy-only figures. I remember Ninja Turtles have a ton of characters that never appeared in the cartoon and some of my favorite transformers figures have been toy-only characters that, after their popularity in the toy-line, got introduced in shows and comics. Why not do the same for Power Rangers? I'd love it if we got things like Dino Steel versions of Purple, Aqua, Graphite, and Silver rangers with new weapons. I'd also love it if we got toy-only Rangers. Maybe a yellow ranger that is an homage to Trini, with a sabertooth design but in the Dino Charge style, or an Orange Ranger to go along with the Deinosuchus zord. What do you guys think? |

I would not buy something that is not in the show, unless it is really cool looking. There are other toy lines I prefer much more to Power Rangers, for me to spend my money on "filler" toys. From the line I only collect the rangers, main megazord, and a few more things I find cool. The other toy lines are cooler to me, so the PR side of things takes a back seat until I have the disposable money.

I only buy the Zords and Megazords, no Ranger figures unless they come with Zords I need. The show is second to my mecha buying, so if it's a Zord that looks cool, I'll buy it.
Price at retail also factors in. Any zord $10 and under can be an impulse buy. Held out on the Raptor Zord...$17 is pretty pricey for what you're buying. Found it at Ross for $10...SOLD! But, that doesn't always hold true. I splurged on other auxiliary Zords recently in order to give my Spino and Black Megazords full modes. |

The Ammonite Zord currently attached to my Spino Megazord says yes.

I really like the "Paleo Rangers" from the RPM toyline. Those are some nice designs.

I'd definitely be up for original, non-show Rangers. Your Yellow Ranger idea is something I could get behind.
I tend to buy if I like the toys or not regardless if I like the show. I'm not a huge fan of Dino Charge, but they're killing it with the zords while on the other hand I really enjoyed Toqger, but I didn't buy a single thing from that line. |
