I'm watching Kiva (AND LOVING IT!). I'm only on episode 8 or so. But what's with the giant dragon-building? (i don't mean 'tell me the plot behind it'.) Same goes for the armored-truck-car-bike-luncher in W.
When watching power rangers or anyother Super Sentai. I can't wait for the giant 'Zords' to come out. But with the Kamen Riders I've seen they're are mostly about the one on one fights. And it feel kind of odd anytime any Rider pulls out a battle base or armor car or battle train or whatever, or has to fight a giant floating castle of evil. I haven't even seen half the Rider series out there, but most of them don't seem to have a 'Zord', so it feels weird to me when one comes out. What do you guys think? Do you think it's weird for a Rider to have anything larger than a bike? Do you like Riders having these large vehicles? In the case of OOOs Do you think it's weird when a Rider has to fight a gaint-thing; mono-a-monsterO? I personally don't really care for these vehicles, and I think it's rather jarring when a monster turns big. I'm not letting this stuff get in my way of enjoying the show(s). But i normally find myself snapped out of the immersion of the episode every time something comes up. |

Those are a lot of questions!
First, regarding vehicles, I think I'm okay with them, but I don't think they're necessary except in a few cases. For example, the addition of the Powerdizer in Fourze is pretty welcome and needed for me. Thus, I would say that the vehicles have to feel "necessary", not just tacked on. I'm not, however, a fan of the CGI used for these vehicles. They're even more conspicuous than the Sentai mecha because Rider action is often up-close and in-your-face. I really wish Toei would improve on the CGI for all their shows. I'm fine with Riders fighting giant monsters, it can be pretty epic if done right.

Auto-Vaijin will always live on in my heart.... In fact when they announced the plot of Decade my VERY FIRST thought was "Sweet! Auto-Vaijin lives!"
But mostly I could care less about thier vehicles. Powerdizer is cool. but I can take it or leave it as a concept.

Vehicles? Yes, I like motorcycles.
I don't know this 'zord' of what you speak of, please, enlighten me (Just kidding, but really, wrong franchise) I generally don't care for giant robots or anything in KR. I like good ol' fighting better. Form changes and modules are cool with me too. |

Powerdizer is awesome. I want to see more of it.
Other vehicles do sometimes break the feel of things, but it doesn't get to me. |

I, for one, like all the 'zords' in Kamen Rider, assuming they exist.

I don't really care for any of the non-motorcycle type vehicles. Things like Revolgarry and Power Dizer are fun for a brief time but they lose their appeal pretty quickly. They're clunky and pretty hard to work into episodes or movies in a believable fashion all the time. As much as I love the Den-O series the Den-Liner itself is just so hard to watch in combat. The epic monster fights were kinda underwhelming.

I like the Denliner as a setting and a source of time travel, but I was never a big fan of the train battles (in fact, when I went back and rewatched some of the early episodes a few months back I was surprised to see them - I'd completely forgotten they exist). Aside fro that, though, I have no interest or affection for any non-bike Rider vehicle.
And yes, that includes Rideron. |

As for vehicles, maybe it's the Transformers fan in me talking, but I quite like the Power Dizer. |

I grabbed that Power Dizer picture because it was one of the first images on google. But i can argee with the Power Dizer. Kengo built it to fight with, cause of his sickened body. It makes tv sense. Last edited by MechanovaKing; 03-07-2012 at 01:48 AM.. |
