I must admit that I really like and enjoy this episode. In this episode, many plots are established, such as Little Star and the true nature of Belial Fusion Kaiju. Though, still need subs to fully understand most of the dialogues. Oh, and the GiriGiriChambara girl still kicks ass even in another series. It's surprising to see that SkullGomora was formed because Kei transformed(?) to Belial and combined with the component monsters.
I'm already fishy because SkullGomora has a color timer-like thing in his chest, making me felt that SkullGomora actually has a host or a controller. Also, SkullGomora is a pretty strong villain for earlier episodes like this. You can see that both X and Orb can hold up with their respective first monsters. However, Geed was having so much trouble handling SkullGomora because it's basically a monster with human's brain, like Zeppandon. It's pretty justified how Riku could only win by using an opening. Well, can't wait for the next episode, especially with Solid Burning. That form will seriously kick someone ass and I hope that by this way, Riku will find a way to hold up against his enemies. As Primitive, Riku constantly relies on luck and his own willpower to win so I want to see he actually wins with a style. Oh, Zero will also appear too next week.

I dunno. If he's saying Aibo, then what does Yugo mean? I heard a theory going around that Riku may actually be Belial since he says "I Go" when he uses the Belial capsule. That would be interesting. But then again, Kei transforms into Belial so I'm not sure how that would work.
As for Riku having trouble with the monster, I just attributed that to him being very new to this. With X, Daichi had X to help him out. Riku is on his own so it's going to take more time for him to figure things out. I liked this episode more than the first. The pacing felt more natural and I liked the introduction of the concept that the Little Stars give their hosts abilities that go with the Ultra it is attributed to. And I thought Raiha was pretty cool. I was worried that she would just be a silent assassin type character but she has some charm to her to, which is great. I'm really interested to see how the team dynamic turns out once everyone is brought in. Next week is gonna be great with the intro of Zero and Solid Burning (the best form. XD) |

Episode 2 and Episode 1(Sub) done!
Starting with episode 2, I really enjoyed it. The pacing was much better then the first one and I like that they forshadowed this week's plot subtly last week. I also liked the sword girl, who's name I can't recall at the moment, and I'm interested in knowing how she ties into things when I get the subs next week. I can't wait to see Zero next episode, as well as the new form debut. Now to Episode one. My thoughts are more or less the same as when I watched it last week. Now that I know what they're saying though, I can't help but wonder whether it makes the already fast episode a bit more evenly paced or even faster then I thought it was. On a side note, I heard that an episode of the show Riku likes will be included with Ultraman Geed's first Blu-ray. Is this true? |

It seems like that since the commercial shows that something about Donshine, the Toku show that Riku likes, is going to bundled with the Blu-ray collection. I thought it was a poster or something but it clicked me when you said like that. My assumption that it will be just a short special like Snipe's Episode Zero.

I don't think it's a whole episode of Donshine, not even a short one like the Kamen Rider blu-ray bonus episodes, if I understand the Google translate gibberish correctly then we just get the scene Riku is watching, but as an own separate thing, so we can watch what he watched.
So you probably get this one minute clip or however long it was as a bonus. |

That sounds really cool, even if its just a one minute preview rather then a full episode.

As a non-subscribing Crunchyroll user I finally got to watch the first episode this morning and I am definitely impressed. I felt that some of the "you're an Ultraman, Riku," stuff felt a little rushed, but the rest of the show did a good job of establishing the main hero while teasing the characters that will be getting more prominent as the series goes on. The action scenes were great, like one expects from a Sakamoto project. There were some great shots during the battle with the kaiju and having the whole thing happen at night really made it look more dynamic. There's also some fantastic miniature work here, which is one of my favorite parts of any Ultra series.
I like that, while still using the Ultra fusion concept, this show really feels very different from Orb. Definitely looking forward to seeing where this series goes. |

Loved the second episode even more. Raiha's pretty cool, and Riku continues to be surprisingly interesting. I love the whole idea of the son of the most evil guy ever being such an inherently heroic person, and seeing him suck at fights is actually kinda refreshing. It makes sense given he's neither experienced like Gai, nor does he have help like Daichi.
"Yuugou" is 融合 which means fusion. One of the trailers had it subtitled as such. "I go" was just in katakana, so I'm pretty sure it only means what it says. Quote:

It says on the site it's "about 3 minutes" long, so yeah, just a full version of the scene from the first episode. Which is a shame. I seriously want an entire 22 minute episode of Geed just devoted to Donshine. Or at least the "Riku meets the guy who played Donshine" episode. Give me something here.

Episode 2 was fun, I like Raiha a lot already.
The little star subplot is nice, so that's how Riku gets his power-ups, huh? What I don't like about this is that it's a bit too similar to Orb in that Juggler was also basically unleashing monsters so that Orb could defeat them for him. It's kinda similar as the bad guy tries to pressure the little stars into revealing themselves. In both cases, we will obviously have a time where the Ultraman just fights monsters and the real battle with the antagonist unfolds once all capsules are found. That's only a minor criticism though, at least they give you a reason for why the antagonist holds back and it's not like in Rider or Sentai where the real bad guys don't really do anything until the first wave of toy advertisements is done. The only other thing I wish they changed was the monster, Skull Gomora returning was a bit lame, I thought Alien Dada could've played a bigger role instead, I mean they said in the preview that Dada is "a monster with three faces" yet it doesn't change faces even once. Those are the only things that I didn't like though, the rest was great. I especially adored seeing the base come to life a bit with Riku moving his Donshine collection in, Raiha building up her research station and Pega hanging up the sign. "Nebula House" is a great name for a base by the way Quote:
