Since I've been on a roll with SO-DO, I decided to give ShodoVS some love.
Stronger I'm not that familiar with Stronger, but one look at the toy and you can tell it needs paint. The abs, belt, and back were unpainted or missing a lot. The stripes were left unfinished as well. X Rider Mainly just painted the scarf and the red on the back. He was among the simplest of these. Only others more simple is finishing Rider 1's, 2's, and Shocker Rider's silver stripes on their helmets (which I didn't bother with pictures of) Amazon I only painted one thing, but it was a lot of one thing. The red patterns all over the body were barely painted out of the box. They only painted the front, but my copy had even less as one leg was only quarter painted. Thankfully there's sculpting for the pattern, otherwise I would never have completed it. The secret to painting all these small details is toothpicks. Black Black is the only ShodoVS figure to not have the belt paint go all the way around. In fact, all of Black's issues are related to that. All of the stripes were just painted on the front. This one bugs me because if they had cut the hand joint at a different place they would've had plenty of the paint budget left to paint them all properly. Anyways, I finished all the stripes. The only thing I couldn't fix was the purple. Last edited by Blade Raider; 03-15-2018 at 01:42 PM.. |

Fixed the old links. Now for more.
Super-1 First up one I finished and took pictures of a while ago and never shared. Paint is focused on the belt and all the gloves. So much on the gloves. The blue hands have an electric pattern that wasn't molded in, so what you see is the best I could do. I really like how he turned out. Decade Finished the silver paint on the back of the belt and the helmet and added all the white on the arms, back, and ankles. Weapons were just black plastic so I painted them to. Might go back and finish the pink on the lower back and just some general clean up I missed until just now. Tigeroid I love that ShodoVS molds in most all details even if not painted. Tigeroid is a great example. Out of the box he has only 4 body stripes painted (head was all painted). It was a bit of challenge finding reference images for him because he has very, very, few toys. Finally had to take screenshots myself. This guy is easily my favorite monster toy in the line. ZX I have an extra ZX (they come with different gear) so figured I'd show how ZX looks out of box vs painted. So, so, much silver was missing. A lot of little details were missing to like all the black and yellow. Last edited by Blade Raider; 03-15-2018 at 04:48 PM.. |
