When I used to use sculpey I would cure it under a light bulb (east bake style lol). It works, just takes longer to harden, but there isn't any warping and such. Plus it avoids the release of any toxic fumes you'd get from putting a plastic figure in the oven.
I've been told though that sculpey isn't good for your figures. It apparently eats away at the plastic over time. I haven't really noticed this on my customs but I don't use sculpey anymore just in case. to be honest i kinda like the smell the sculpey makes when i bake it in the oven lol. what do you use, Aves? ive heard good things. my main complaint with sculpey is that its too pliable, is there a harder solution? |

huh, good to know! now im glad that ive sculpted it the old fashioned way, just sculpey over wire and tin foil.

I've only ever really used sculpey, super sculpey, and Magic Sculpt, which is something similar to apoxy sculpt. I haven't had much luck with the magic sculpt. It's even more pliable than sculpey. I keep hearing good things about apoxy sculpt but have still yet to use it myself. Personally though I just use my Doctor Who monsters as Kaijin for my SHFs.

Knight and Ryuki is about 3000 to 3500 yen on Mandarake, and lately it's lean more towards 3500 yen, so that's $40-46.70 respectively. Even with SAL shipping, it's gonna cost more, if not the same as getting it from here in the US. Also remember, with Mandarake, unless you order for more than 5000 yen, there is that 500 yen surcharge.
But who knows. I won't decide until I'm actually ready to ship Ouja, then I'll just make some snap decision based on my feelings that moment. And it'll probably boil down to what I watched the night before, if Ryuki then Knight, if Den-O then Climax. If neither, then Dark Kiva. |

nice deal on TheBee! i was pricing him recently and hes gone up quite a bit for some reason to $50-60 range. i was going to grab him next, but i figure series leads that i want hold more priority so i got W C/J instead.
finally finished Spider Man! ill have a proper photo shoot tomorrow, i basically built the thing so Figuarts Ichigo has something to Rider Kick lol. the colors are a bit wonky here, he looks much darker in person. probably the flash doing weird things. ive got a light box so some better images are forthcoming Last edited by Kamen Rider 7; 01-20-2012 at 11:24 PM.. |

You ought not to hotlink all those photos, especially off the Japanese websites.

I also got LunaTrigger and HeatMetal for $20 from the same seller, and I expected to have to pay a lot more for them. |

I got my OOO (TaToBa), CycloneJoker, and Decade ("Violent Emotion") in the mail yesterday. Decade and W are both really damn awesome. OOO is a bit of a disappointment. He looks good, but without the diecast feet he just will not stay balanced unless he's standing straight up. Are the other OOO forms any better?

PuToTyra is a favorite of mine and he's actually made really well. Id recommend him before most of the other forms along with TaJaDor which is also pretty excellent.

Argh, missed the GokaiSilver. Always too slow on there...
But I did just order W CJX and Den-O Climax Form off of Mandarake. I was trying to pair CJX with a Rising Ixa (for only 3000 yen!), but was it apparently got sold in the store some time yesterday. *sigh* There's another one listed, but it was from a different store so I didn't want to pay shipping twice. And PuToTyra's my only OOO Figuart, but I'd still highly recommend it. The sculpt is amazing, colors vibrants, accessories perfect, and he DOES have diecast feet. :P |
