Over-Time subs for Shaider have been out for almost 2 weeks. We need to talk about it and Hiroaki Iwanaga's abs. If Sharivan was good, this is great.

On behalf of all the Filipinos, I must say that this new version of Shaider was fantastic.
Given that it was shot on a budget, Sakamoto was able to pull off a great story that the fans can enjoy, making references back to original show, plus establish new characters into it. Highly recommended. |

Just like Sharivan before it this was absolutely great. The characters are fun and likeable and the action is just superb. I really hope the Arakawa/Sakamoto Space Sheriff franchise can continue in some form or another.

I loved how they picked Iwanaga as Shu/Shaider. Comedic Shaider FTW.

Finally got around to seeing this; I liked it. This was a pretty fun little movie and I enjoyed how it and the Sharivan film tied together (and were both leagues ahead of the snoozefest that was Gavan). The story wasn't anything amazing, although I didn't see the plot twist with Horror Girl's identity coming, so props for that. I did like the action, though; all of the grappling moves reminded me of Iwanaga's time on OOO, which is never a bad thing. Tammy's fight scenes got a little too cutesy in places, but nowhere near as bad as Nadeshiko (also, the number of up-skirt shots was relatively tame for what I'd expect from combining Sakamoto and Shaider). The only thing that didn't completely work for me was Tammy, who I found deeply, deeply annoying.
Also, can we all just marvel at how obviously forced Iwanaga's de-shirting was? |

I'm a bit disappointed it wasn't the original Horror Girl, but aside from that it was very good.
In the original trilogy, Kojiro was such a creep He was supposed to be the comic relief token, but was always hanging out with the kids (the support characters were often sharing the same scenes), or trying to date women much younger than him... But it's nice to have him as he is the only regular for both the 3 shows.

Seriously though, I'm fascinated with this scene. Mainly because I'm trying to find to exact frame where the scene changes from a berserk girl trying to kill her boyfriend into a Klingon mating ritual. I'm pretty sure it's those few seconds where she stops and looks at Shu topless. |

I could watch Iwanaga's shirt getting ripped off all day. Because, dammit, there's nothing gay about this!
