A number of school children have been disappearing and the common link seems to be Tyramigo, who has met with them after class. Melto sets out to uncover the truth...

Yeah, another overall good episode, though not really that much to say about it.
I did really enjoy Wyzul this episode. |

Yeah, this is by far my favorite episode of this show yet. I've been waiting for them to truly use Tyramigo as a character this whole show, and not only do they FINALLY get some mileage out of that awesome suit, they make his personality feel super fleshed out (his solution to moving the monster outside is particularly amazing). And it's all the better that he gets paired up with Melto, who's sort of been my lowkey favorite Ryusoulger ever since he got the first actual spotlight episode. They have a good dynamic going here, and the predictable resolution still works great because, not only has Tyramigo's refusal to get Melto's name right been long-established, the way the big moment at the end is delivered is extremely natural to where it really hits the mark. Combine that with all the usual great stuff with the villains (I like that Wyzul is a chill enough dude that after all he goes through because of the Minusaur here, he only bonks Kreon on the head instead of totally flipping out or something), and you've got yourself a winner of a story. It's especially cool to see this kind of quality from the show's actual main writer.
But wait, it gets even better! All those debut episodes for fancy new merch may not have been tempting enough, and I guess resolutions to major story arcs didn't seem important enough, but, apparently, when you've got a pointless filler episode about a robot dinosaur making friends all over town, Kazuya Kamihoriuchi will be there! I seriously wish we could clone this guy like five times so he could just direct the entire show, because he adds SO much to any episode he touches, and sadly this is only his third one of Ryusoulger. Which is is a shame, because when it's in his hands, random shots where nobody cares if you don't put effort into the composition look like this: Canalo talking to Mosa Rex by sticking his finger in a fountain or something? Screw that! Just stick him AND the camera in the water! A boring flat angle while the Ryusoulgers fight the monster? As if! Oh, and KisihiRyuOh was supposed to be more agile and dynamic than other Sentai Robos? Yeah, I don't see Sakamoto doing that s***. I was already looking forward to this episode just from the premise, so seeing that name at the end of the credits after months of being disappointed every week was such a delight. I can only hope we don't have to wait until episode 41 or something until he directs another one, but even if that's the case, I'll just be glad we got what we did.

I had a feeling this was a Kamihoriuchi episode - the direction was absolutely brilliant. Kamihoriuchi knows how to frame a shot - and the creativity and thought put into every frame was very telling of his directorial style. He really adds much needed innovation to the established tokusatsu format.
I loved this episode. From the absurd premise, to the hilarious jokes and development with Tyramigo and Melt, this is as good as one-off episodes go. I found myself laughing a lot, especially with Tyramigo getting Melt's name wrong and any scene with Kureon and Wyzil. This show is just bundles of joy. |

Good Episode, I think.
I like the idea that Tyramigo just goes around town on his free time. Wyzul basically getting detention, awesome. I really hope they keep him around for the rest of the show. I just enjoy him and Kreon together. Although Kreon seems to favor Tankjoh more. The "Lets walk but in a hurry" scene followed by brisk walking was pretty funny. And finally a Towa episode next. Its been a while since he got any spotlight.

This is probably one of the most unique sentai episodes I've seen in a very long time...

Can I get "Tyramigo's slice of life"-stories adapted into an entire show please? Thank you.
@Topic: The preview didn't let me down, this was so much fun. It's also nice to see Sawa again, looks like she settled down after the wild ride that was Kamen Rider Build, good for her. |

I think Kreon preferred Tankjoh over Wyzul was because Tankjoh was a lot more laid back. As someone who likes to do what he wants, that fits perfectly for Kreon.
While Wyzul isn't as insulting towards him and very upbeat, he's still more demanding, and makes Kreon follow his pace.

The fact that we never saw Tyramigo watching TV to learn how to talk is actually still what I consider this show's biggest wasted opportunity, and an episode about him this good only makes it seem that much more tragic. I always love when giant robots or transformation devices or what have you are characters in their own right, and the way Tyramigo was written here, with it being pretty clearly shown he has an entire social life and everything outside of helping the main characters out, is genius. The sense of agency he was given is something you just don't get with these kinds of characters that often. Him taking a liking to human society like this even finally explains why he randomly ran off to go hang out at a zoo back in the second episode, which drove me crazy at the time. It's such a shame we couldn't have gotten some kind of equivalent to Zi-O's .5 episodes or the like centered around the guy. You know, just low-budget little skits, or anything. Toei is wasting serious mascot potential here.

With all the times Canalo's actor keeps getting wet, they better be careful he doesn't get pneumonia.
