I'm still trying to grasp the fact that it's only been 14 episodes. It feels like a lot more. I wonder if the show will keep this pace up or will level out and than rocket again during the ending arc.

With the last to episodes, Urobuchi just took my poor heart and crushed it into pieces. Damn you, Urobutcher! My tears! Give them back!

I like Gaim, I genuinely do, but I kinda wish it wasn't as good as it is as it just provides steam to the hype train and the hype train is frankly ridiculous. "I can't think straight knowing Hase is going die, I'm not gonna sleep tonight, the unspeakable has happened!" Yeah, really? Name five things he's done that are both of value, add to his characterisation and have an emotional impact on the audience. Yeah, they gotta do all three, as I could easily say those about pretty much every other Rider but Hase? Oh yeah, that's right, you can't. He has no characterisation and to this point has been a total joke. If he dies, so what? It's a cheap ploy to make things seem more than they are. The fact that audiences just let this wash over them is the reason stuff goes down the pan.

Well, just because you don't like him, it doesn't mean he had no characterization, because that was pretty much what the last few episodes were about.
And there is a hell lot of people who did like him, so why not let us be sad if a character we liked just gets murdered by that idiot Sigurd with Kouta suffering in the background? |

I don't dislike him, I can't dislike a character I don't know. I'm just getting really bored with the melodrama around this series. It's like the anti-Wizard.
With Wizard everyone just hated EVERYTHING and to such extents that were never really necessary. Wizard was no masterpiece but the flaming effigies were never needed. But here everyone treats Gaim like it's the second coming, and yeah it's a good show, but it's been a small fraction of the shows length. I hope it continues to be brilliant throughout, but I wont lose any sleep over spoilers for an episode that is just over a fifth of the way into a series. If people really are crying over Hase, which I doubt to extremes that I'd bet my life they weren't, then it's just truly ridiculous. The hype machine has consumed itself. I wanna join in on the fun guys, but I cant when everything is being blown so grossly out of proportion.

Gosh, first world problems. Why do you care so much what everyone else does?
I liked Wizard and I like Gaim, but Wizard just wasn't a good show. But Gaim is, even if the twists are about as obvious as Kamen Rider Wiseman was. And just fyi, I actually DID cry like a baby just a few hours ago because of what happened to everyone in that episode, because I like the characters a lot and feel with them. |

I love this forum, people may think I'm an asshole and I can live with that, but I do kinda hate sometimes how this community as a whole likes to just sorta skirt around issues. Being negative is a beautiful thing, being pessimistic isn't fun, but getting into the nitty gritty of something and talking about what does and doesn't work and WHY it doesn't or does work is so much fun, but I'm just not seeing that with Gaim. Most episode threads I lurk in, I usually say my piece and step out of the thread as the threads are usually pretty fluffy.

Yay, so because someone somewhere in the world thinks that our opinions are stupid, I shouldn't be excited for Gaim, cry when something sad happens or share my happines about what happened in an episode with everyone else?
And just because we like it and talk mostly about what we liked rather than what wasn't that good we're all wrong and don't see its flaws? Yeah, sure. |

I'm excited for Gaim as well and enjoy discussion the many positives, but I guess I'm just after more stimulating discussion than the current hype train can offer. Hopefully when the show cools down a bit the discussion will get more interesting and less vapid.

I see discussing with you is still pointless, as you seem to consider only your opinion as the one truth.
Oh yeah, and calling others "juvenile" is of course very mature... Besides, since you indirectly adressed your post to me, by talking about people crying over Hase, I think I have a right to defend myself. But well, if you don't even want to accept that there actually are people who feel connected to the minor characters in Gaim and don't pretend so because they thing it's cool, then go keep whining. I don't feel like wasting my time trying to explain my point to you anymore. |
