I don't think there's been a thread dedicated to Revoltech alone. And if there has been, feel free to move this where it needs to go.
But. What are the differences between Revoltech/Figma/Figuarts in terms of posability and quality? What would you like to see in Revoltech? Let's see some of those Revoltech pictures! |

oh I will have some fun with this thread...Revoltechs are one of the cooler things to the action figure world, BUT they are a hit or miss product. While the Revoltechs joints offer a unique flexability, they can be a liability at the same time. Some of there larger figures, like Iron Man can have trouble standing alone. Still the amount of detail they put into these figures are just damn amazing. I have been enamored with their Getter Robo stuff as well as Gurren Lagann figures. They can take the giant over the top mecha and really give it the proper love. There has been an evolution in the figures, the Getter 1 vs Getter 1 Renewal have a varying amount of their famed joints. Sometimes this can be better for standing solo, but when expecting a revoltech joint and just finding a swivel it can be frustrating. Also the fact that the joints are universal, you can actually plug and play the various figures together, and that is pretty fun. They do not skip out on accessories either, and when they can package some kind of stand or display stage.
hmm...that reads like one of my blogs lol, may actually go into depth hmmm...but anyway...Pictures! |

Aside from wanting to see more Gamera monsters (which probably isn't going to happen now) and any new EVAs that appear in the Rebuild films, I think I'm done with Revoltech now. I love the 25 or so that I have, but in comparison to Figma/SRC/Robot Damashii you can see how limited they are by using the often cumbersome revolver joints. They only really look good on chunky super robots and (for some reason I'm not sure why) Iron Man.
I say all of this, but I kinda want the Tachikoma that went up for preorder today. And the Elric brothers...

At the moment I'm really looking forward to Iron Man Mark 7:
Hope we hear more about it soon. |

I've always wanted some of the Getter stuff, but I've never seen any of the anime. The Tachikoma though? Hell yes. Along with the new Optimus coming with the Jetwing add-on stuff.

The Iron Man stuff really doesn't phase me. I like Iron man, but I'd rather just collect those 3.75 inch ones instead.

I use to get plenty of Revoltechs, but I rarely do now. The first major reason is that they never picked a scale for humans. Revo humans are all over the place in size. They can't even keep humans from the same fiction in scale with each other sometimes. So I quickly stopped buying any human Revos. In the case of robots, they just haven't made any I want in a long time. However, Tachikoma is quite tempting.
I still very much enjoy my Trigun, ZOE, and Getter Revos though. |

Yeah I used to buy a ton of Revoltechs when they first came out. I like them but Blade Raider is right, the lack of scale is annoying. Also those joints are not my favorite.
I am seriously considering getting the Zetman they have coming out in December, along with the Tachikoma, but I am waiting to see if Bandai announces a Zetman figuarts at their Features this month. Since Play Arts is making a Zetman in addition to Revoltech's, I'm wondering if they just licensed a slew of figures of him at once. I'd rather get a Figuarts version to go with my Tiger & Bunny figures. |

Found so Revo images hiding in my TF folders. Figured I'd shame them here.
Have I mentioned Getter Go is one of my favorite robo Revos? Drill on drill action. I remember taking this picture the day I got these 3 because Drift's f**king sword pissed me off. Last edited by Blade Raider; 10-16-2012 at 10:06 PM.. |
