Just found out on Henshin Grid that this past Wednesday, September 3rd, marked the 20th Anniversary of VR Troopers!
Since nobody else knew, I figure I'll post here a belated celebration to the Power Rangers offshoot, which I myself loved just as much as Power Rangers itself. So, Happy Belated 20th Anniversary, VR Troopers!

I remember this show on Fox Kids, but it didn't seem to be that popular when I was a kid. I remember people in my school hardly talked about it compare to MMPR. I find the show awful now, but I do respect the show for trying to do something cool at the time. VR stuff was popular at the time, so cashing on it seem like a cool idea.

I've actually recently, due to Netflix streaming, watched all three seasons of MMPR, both seasons of Big Bad Beetleborgs, and now am into the second season of VR troopers, and of the three shows... Honestly, I find VR Troopers probably the blandest.
I don't mind the characters, but the plots are so all over the place and with them splicing stuff from not one, not two, but THREE Toku shows that are seriously older looking than even Zyuranger was for MMPR alongside the American shot footage... It's just too cluttered, Every episode has to find a way to separate Ryan from his friends since their suits are from two different shows. I mean Saban did a heck of a lot better job with the second season of MMPR incorporating Dairanger's Kiba Ranger into things alongside the still being used Zyuranger stuff in that they actually shot a lot of new American footage with the suits together. Why they couldn't for VR Troopers is beyond me. Did they kill their budget with the then upcoming MMPR: The Movie? Heck, even Big Bad Beetleborgs has more American footage done of the suits. Still, it's worth a look through as it still offers some entertainment...and you can picture a "What If" scenario between it and MMPR in that the actor playing Ryan Steele in VR Troopers was supposed to be the White Ranger in MMPR, and Jason David Frank was to be the new lead for VR Troopers, then known as "Cybertron" ...(*cough* Transformers home planet) originally.

I don't know why they choose to adapt the Rescue Police Series instead then adapting a show with 7 - 10 year old footage. I remember when they used the stock footage, you can tell how dated it looks. The Rescue Police Series was more recent at the time and the footage would have looked better in my opinion.
