Souchaku Henshin was my gateway into spending vast amounts of cash on toys.
I reckon' that generally speaking, it's agreed that the Souchaku Henshin got better as the years rolled by. So I guess the best stuff's the Kabuto line? That said, I started with Blade, which was great. And later got some Hibiki, which were... okay, but quite light on the armor aspect (except for Armed Hibiki). Den-O and Kiva were sadly, majorly flawed. While their base bodies were great, they made a significant error with the armor. First flaw is how the armor all came together. The Den-O ones at least, involved using physics and opposing forces to keep 'em together. Which was kinda neat, although less simple than just having them worn normally. It's not that big of a "flaw" really. What IS a big flaw is that the shoulder pads all attached to the armor, and not the shoulders. This meant that the Den-O and Kiva SH had no forward arm posability. You had to lift the shoulder armor up in order for there to be enough clearance for them to punch forward, which was just plain ugly. As far as Den-O's concerned, I'd recommend Altair and Zero, and the PlatForm/Momo 2-Pack. Momo's actually a little more accurate than even the Figuarts version (mostly in the jaw spikes). Maaaaaybe Sword Form, as his smaller shoulder armor meant less obstruction. Kiva SH were pretty, but they're all pretty much ruined by the shoulder thing. I'm not sure about Arc or Rey though. |
