I'm interested in Zero One base suit from AI 01, Lightning Hornet from 03, one of the bikes, and Geiz Majesty set.

Die wants sets 04 and 05
Q wants Thouser, but is in the UK so here's a link to one in case they just want that. ShiShiLeo wants a Zero one, a lightning hornet a bike and a geiz majesty. Okay so that leaves 2 full sets of AI 01, a shoot wolf vulcan, 1 AI 02, Horobi, Jin, Rising Hopper, a Zi-o movie form, 2 bikes and the vulcan statue thing.

So this is easily the best resource on these little guys out there so after reading the 30 odd pages in the last day I have a few questions.
I came back to KR after decades away from it (watched Black when doing an internship in Japan when it aired and loved it) came back when I had a strange change in my work/travel about a year ago and have binged 7-9 shows so far and am really in love with it again. I bought back in big on Figuarts initially but I don't do much dynamic posing and they just stand in a case, so I've started selling off and bought a handful of the Medicom RAH which are great and fill the Figuarts need bigger and better. But, recently looking at these as a fill in for smaller figures and in love with the fact they go so deep on characters. I placed an order for all the 01 stuff which is coming and if I have decent success with them I plan to go back and do Ex-Aid, Build and track down the new OOO stuff. So, for someone who's been gifted with meathook for hands and is a better boxer than model builder how annoying will these be for someone who doesn't do models? Anything I should buy to help this along? nippers? Tweezers? etc. is using a matte clear nail polish ideal for keeping these stickers on or is it over the top? I had a few more questions I've forgotten but for now I look forward to just observing the thread and the awesome job everyone does with these. |

As for stickering, I just treated it as normal -- used my tweezers to apply; they're easy enough with just your fingers but your tweezers or exacto knife or whatever else would probably make it easier. Even if you've got nothing around they're the perfect sort of small-scale kits to just jump in there and make in 10-20 minutes!

Like any line of DIY figures, some SO-DO are going to be easier than others. I've had figures where every sticker went on like a dream, and ones that will never look right to me. It's a lot of figures, and they're not all winners. But! They're all pretty accessible for even the most beginner of customizer. For basic SO-DO, all you might need beyond what's in the box is a pair of tweezers, and even that's fairly optional. Most stickers are of a size where you manipulate them by hand, but it doesn't hurt to have something ready to deal with the microscopic few. If you're going to do the SO-DO Chronicle ones, like OOO or Double, I'd recommend having a pair of nippers. There's nothing to cut off of runners for the normal line, but Chronicle has a variety of hands you'll need to cut free. I picked up a small "beginner tools for model kits" set from HLJ or someone a couple years ago, and it had everything I've needed to do SO-DO, Figure-Rise kits, whatever. I can't speak to much beyond that, so nail polish or anything else is a bit above my skill level. Like Kurona said (sniped in with a great concise answer while I was typing out all of my nonsense), these are meant to be fun, simple toys for beginning fans. Even taking your time to get your first one perfect might only mean 15-20 minutes of work. I did my first one after lunch on a slow workday. (Workdays! What a foreign concept.) I'm excited to see how you enjoy SO-DO! Let us know how it does for you!

Yeah, I've been doing So-Do for years, all I ever use is my fingers and a toothpick for some subtle manipulation of stickers. It's a really fun, really addictive line. Solid articulation for the approximately 800 yen cost, and they make a fantastic way to display every single Rider suit and a ton of other recurring non-Rider suits as well
