GaoRanger 43: Rasetsu continues being a jackass, I miss Ura so much. The Shadow Rangers were pretty cool and a cheap ass fight Dorodoro was full of insanely cheap ninja moves. Though I love how he got defeated because Yabaiba reflected his technique and his own move defeated him. Loved that Tetom's prayer helped empower the Power Animals and created GaoCentaurus which is a totally awesome formation. Can't wait to see what happens next.
GaoRanger 44: Wow bugging GaoRed was a cheap ass move but it makes sense. I am so happy Rasetsu was defeated he was annoying, destroying the G-Phones and Gao Rock was insane I'm glad the Power Animals saved the day there. Gao Deers is pretty awesome with its healing powers. GaoCentaurus is totally badass and I love the attack name of Dance of the Beast King. I love GaoRed's rage in this episode it was great when he shows his passion, I love how they all get scenes and dialogue when they mention some of the big moments. I am wondering who the next villain is. GaoRanger 45: That was the best Clip show episode I've seen. Well along with having all the silly parts of trying to put Gao Rock back together, and the Yabaiba making GaoKing dance was hilarious it reminded me of Kyoryuger. Also them trying to Moonwalk and failing was hysterical. Also Gao Silver watching them dance from the outdoor bath was hilarious too. I love how Gao Silver basically beat Yabaiba with a tap from a bowl lol. I loved them singing the theme song Karaoke style at the end that was hilarious and great. I do feel bad for Yabaiba being alone right now. I also loved them trying to come up with all the different combinations for the Power Animals. I am intrigued to see what happens next. GaoRanger 46: Another fun episode with trying to find the Orgs' base. Yabaiba was surprisingly effective as a leader here, weird that he couldn't do that before. New Year's Org was fun with the games and the GaoRangers exploding. Always great to see Gao Silver's finisher and GaoHunter. I am intrigued to see what happens now and intrigued that we don't have another Highness Duke or Master Org yet but it will be interesting what happens. GaoRanger 47: Wow the final Org was pretty powerful. Yabaiba really was brilliant this episode going far lengths to attack the last org to help save Tsuetsue. I really loved GaoIcarus Another Foot and Arm lol the naming conventions are so fun in this. Still the combination of GaoFalcon, Bison, Hammerhead, and Wolf with the Ligator Blade was totally fucking badass. Probably my favorite combination because it combines some of my favorite parts of GaoIcarus, King, and Hunter together. Wow Shuten, Ura, and Rasetsu apparently coming back with Tsuetsue at the end definitely feels like something else at the end here. I can't wait 3 episodes left and I am excited. GaoRanger 48: I enjoyed seeing what the GaoRangers would do after winning the battle against the Orgs a bit somber though. Though I like seeing Gao White wanting to travel with Silver. I love Black and Blue's ideas. I wonder what Yellow will do though. I love Yellow telling Red he's become a good leader too. Ura, Shuten, and Rasetsu are just as deadly as I imagined they would be together they definitely bring the strength and fear main villains should. Tsuetsue has gone a bit nutty with her loyalty here and Yabaiba I think is second-guessing everything after the Org Master revelation. Can't wait for more. GaoRanger 49: I love the GaoRangers even more now going to fight against the Highnesses when they were beating up and then succeeding was totally brilliant. I really loved GaoRed in this because of his self-doubt as a leader then getting over it I loved. I loved Gao Blue inspiring Gao Black, Gao White inspiring Gao Silver, and Gao Yellow inspiring Gao Red and with that help Gao Black, Silver, and Yellow helped hold back each of the Highnesses for the barrier to be destroyed which was awesome. GaoGod and Tetom were ready to kick ass and that was awesome. Though Tsuetsue has definitely used her new powers to help out turning the the 3 of them into one ultra org now, I can't wait for next one. GaoRanger 50: Um wow...that was dark, melancholy, and utterly saddening to see all the Power Animals destroyed, Sky Island destroyed, and GaoGod destroyed...Senki is one hell of villain but combining the destructive power of Shuten, Ura, and Rasetsu would create one of the most powerful villains ever. I am really sad right now and teary eyed. Alright one more episode left, it's time to see how this wonderful series ends. GaoRanger 51: A beautiful and kick ass ending. I loved them fighting without powers to reach Senki and try to defeat him with their one last sword. I love that their spirits called out to all of the other Power Animals and restored their powers and combining with all of the Power Animals and using the Beast Blade to destroy Senki was amazing. I also loved that they all said their real names at the end that really was a great moment. I love how they all went back to their normal lives but stayed friends at the end I was surprised when Yellow showed up at Red's Vet office that was great and them all hanging out on Sky Island again with Tetom and Fuutaro was totally awesome. This is definitely a magnificent series one of the strongest Sentai's out there. I loved the entire team Yellow and Silver were my favorites but the entire team is going in my signature after that ending. I will say Ura is one of my favorite Sentai Villains ever and combined into Senki is totally awesome too. Yabaiba and Tsuetsue's ending was good for them but a little anticlimactic but still makes sense. GaoHunter and GaoIcarus are my favorite Mecha ever right now. Also back in 2001 GaoRanger and Kamen Rider Agito had to be one of the best Super Hero Time's they ever had with two extremely strong shows. Well I might go start a Battle Fever J rewatch after this but I am group watching Sentais with my friends and usually like watching with them so I'll be sporadic here. Is there a limit to how long posts go? lol GaoRanger vs Super Sentai: This was brilliant, I absolutely loved the returning Rangers in this movie. I think Gouki and Daimon stood out to me and I really want to watch all of the Sentais they are from. Well Big One was just amazing that man is absolutely magnificent. MegaPink is very interesting and I loved how she helped Gao White and explaining all the different Costume changes that Females used before. Ginga Blue helping Gao Black was great and I loved seeing all the Strong type of fighters throughout Sentai. Go Yellow is totally insane and great, I love his Milk Tornado Drop move and I love him teaching Gao Blue to get past his self doubt and seeing the clips from all the Rangers that used Techniques was great. I love that Gao Yellow got trained by Red Falcon because his type of character feels like he could have been a Red himself. I love them showing the clips from the swordsmen of Sentai was awesome too. I also really enjoyed seeing Red Falcon too even if it spoiled a bit of Liveman it was still great. I loved seeing them team up and fight together. All the Red Rangers coming back and all of the Red Mecha coming back to attack and fight was brilliant I loved the Super Sentai Spirit and the GaoRanger attack at the end. It was a great movie, I wish this would have happened later with Gao Silver but still a fantastic movie. Better than 10 Posts right? GaoRanger the Volcano Roars: Nice short movie here. GaoKnight looks really awesome for a different version of GaoGorilla creates a really awesome Movie Robo. Gao Kong was pretty cool too. I loved Gao Silver piloting Gao God I was waiting for that in the series, so I'm glad it happened somewhere for them. I loved the designs of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades Orgs they were really cool. Nice ideas in this movie I definitely could have seen this go longer but still nice movie and GaoKnight's finisher is badass. Well now I am out of GaoRanger. Hurricaneger vs GaoRanger: It was great seeing the GaoRangers return they got along really well with the Hurricanegers I wish it was fully subbed so I could watch that too. The villains turning into the GaoRangers was really cool and much better than the GaoRangers going evil. It must have been fun for the actors to play evil characters than who they are used too. I really liked all the team ups like Gao White and Hurricane Blue, Gao Silver with both Shurikenger and Kabuto Raiger was badass. Gao Blue and Kuwaga Raiger was fun and so was Gao Black and Shurikenger. Gao Yellow and Hurricane Yellow was a great team up and so was Gao Red and Hurricane Red too. I love the GaoRangers a lot and love that the Hurricanegers got their message of Never Giving Up and being pumped up. I am also happy that the GaoRangers finally destroyed Tsuetsue and Yabaiba that is great closure there. Also I loved that the Power Animals were able to combine with the Shinobi Machines too that was great to see a combination Robo. A very good team-up movie. Well I want more GaoRanger but not sure what to do now.

Just got to Tsubasamaru's episode in Kakuranger (Just as a note: I'm not moving through the series that slowly. I've been watching one episode a day, and took a week long break at that )
That was awesome. It's also quite the surprising ending for the episode. I'm rather used to episodes where rangers getting a new power means an utter steamroll and an ending with happy, smiling faces. While the MoTW was steamrolled like a bitch, it ended on quite the shocking note. Tsubasamaru is amazing. I absolutely loved his introduction (And I'm so glad I have the white Falcon zord now ), with the dodging and weaving and I've always loved his gun wings. Next episode is the turning point of the series, with the whole "End of Act I" thing. I don't know how it's going to go down, but I decided to write my feelings on things before watching it. I'm rather surprised at how much I enjoy Kakuranger, despite the comedy being incredibly sophomoric at times. It was already my number 2 series (Geki being 1) for the incredible action and, when it wants to be, intense moments. However, one of my biggest complaints was that only Sasuke and Jiraiya has what fells like actual characters. I'm hoping the Act II of this show fixes this problem and gives more character to Tsuruhime, Saizou, and Seikai, since the latter two only feel defined by their gags and once they slowed down on the character gags, they really felt lacking. So, as it stands, Act I was great. It had it's issues, but I'm hoping for Act II to fix them. Nin-Ninja! Nin'Ninjer!

I finished Kakuranger and Jetman. Both were great with really good finales. I have started Dekaranger and Bioman and I am still crawling through Magiranger.
I know MillionFold Curiosity is subbing Gingamna and is through episode 30 or so, so I will watch that as it comes out after this new block of sentai is done. Anyone know where I can find Carranger and Ohranger? |

Okay, just got through the episodes of Kaku where they had to search for the Kakure scrolls. That was a pretty nice set of episodes. It was rather surprising that they were more than just physical trials and they had to learn something along the way (Though Seikai and Saizou's "Don't give up hope" lesson is painfully generic).
I was also caught off guard on how they presented the episodes. I thought they paired up Seikai and Saizou so they would only have to have 4 episodes of them searching for the scrolls, when they instead decided to give Jiraiya 2 episodes. I'm kind of split on this, honestly. On one hand, Jiraiya is awesome and can carry two episodes easily, and I'm glad that they didn't force these two episodes into one 20 minute chunk. It would've been way rushed otherwise. On the other hand, Seikai and Saizou still don't get to do jack. Even Seikai's willingness to sacrifice himself still seemed more odd than noble, and I think splitting them up and letting them each have a more dramatic episode would've been best. Otherwise, these recent 5 episodes were awesome. The beasts are awesome (Though the CGI on God Ganma was pretty horrible) and having the characters grow is always wonderful.

I'm getting into Dairanger now, up to episode 4 as I post this. Not a bad series so far. Getting that nostalgic feeling from the mechs, loved the thunder megazord.

On with Kakuranger! Now in the 30's!
So, count me as incredibly surprised. I didn't expect Sandayuu to actually die. Mainly because he always seemed like the kind of character with a trick up his sleeve. I guess current day tropes are starting to get to me. However, 20 episodes left, so we'll see. The other reason was because he was the closest thing to a mentor character we had so far, so for him to die at the halfway point is actually surprising. Anyway, for the episodes itself, I'm up to episode 31. Tsuruhime's father is apparently a traitor who turned on humanity, Prince Junior/Gashadokuro is defeated in battle (And it seems like Dr. Yugami is gone, too), and now Daimaoh has finally arrived. It's actually kind of saddening to see Junior gone, not out of sympathy or anything, but because it's rare to have such an active main villain. I guess after enduring villains who sit around and do nothing like Kyoryu's Chaos, Gosei's Mon Drake, or Gokai's Warz Gill, someone like Junior was a breath of fresh air and fun to watch. He may not have been the most efficient, but he was awesome. Additionally, the Kakurangers received Kakure Daishogun and Super Kakure Daishogun, as well as the Thunder Sword, Hikarimaru, from Tsubasamaru (Damn, at this point, Tsubasamaru might as well be a Kakuranger with all the work he's putting in ). So these two episodes have been major turning points, with the Kakurangers receiving the final mecha of the God Generals, the loss of an important ancillary character, and the shift in power for the villains. A few final thoughts, I still doubt Tsuruhime's father turned. And, despite being one of the few on the planet, I still think Kakure Daishogun looks way cooler than Muteki Shogun.

The only things I did not like about the search for the Kakure scrolls arc include that Sasuke ended up being the only one to truly do everything on his own and that both Sekai and Saizou did not get their own individual episodes. It just shows how bland those two really are, which is unfortunate. That Jaraiya 2 parter though, DAMN!!
Junior is one of my favorite Sentai villains of all time, so I to was saddened by him dying so soon, but he was magnificent every moment he was on screen and I'm glad they killed him off when they took him as far as they could rather than just let him linger on as a lackey for the remainder of the series. |

When my wife watched the Jaraiya 2 parter with me, she was glued to it the screen. Before I started part 2, she was happy that she wouldn't have to wait a week for it to conclude. Also, that fight with his sensei was crazy!
I like Saizou, but I do agree he is pretty bland in the grand scheme of things in the show. Him and Seikai were both the comic relief, but also had random serious moments. The really only wrote 4 characters for the show. That is my only gripe for Kakuranger...seriously. lol |
