I have a feeling that this will be used as a homage in a toku-trivia-centric anime like Dynazenon or Gridman one of these days. Or as a parody in some non-related comedy anime/manga.

Okay, this was a surprise. I thought the show was supped to be off this week, too. Glad to see it back.
I really just want to say how much I unabashedly loved the back half of this episode with all of our heroes preparing for their final battle. Considering how rushed and crowded I thought the show was at first, I really feel like I honestly know everyone (who isn't Durandel) now and it's so nice to see them having a final night with what's most important to them. The whole marching off to fight together scene was amazing, too. If I didn't know Revice was still weeks off, I'd honestly assume that the next episode is the finale given how much they've set everything up for the climax here. |

Oh, and one other thing about this episode that I (self-indulgently) want to mention: when I was reading through the production notes, I found out Touma and Kento's little skit wasn't actually written by Hasegawa. Instead, the chief producer specifically sought out Ayumi Shimo for the job, which means I now get to say the person who wrote some of my absolute favorite Sentai episodes ever over on Kiramager has also written in some capacity for Saber, a show that just absolutely refuses to stop giving me all these presents!

Oh yeah, I loved that episode. I also remember it preceding a pretty aggressive body count for tertiary Riders. Honestly, though, I don't see Saber going down that route.

Well, seeing as how Kento supposedly takes part in the final battle judging by the scans.

Mind you, I also didn't think that they'd kill Tassel, so what do I know? |

Seriously, I thought the break was going to be longer...
But this episode was great! I love how Kamen Rider Storius' belt voice is in English, or the neat little detail of his mask resembling an open book. We got to see the Sages back from the dead, and a cool team transformation, even if it was the usual "new bad guy is insanely strong" kind of fight. The trio is reunited! And I thought the adult Luna was exclusive to Senki or would appear at the very end or something, but I thought it worked rather nicely. Heck, the whole episode was full of really nice scenes where everyone is preparing for impending doom, and I just have to say, I'm happy to see Slash doing his job, sharpening and honing the blades, since it's been ages since he last did so. And all of this culminates to that ending sequence of everyone marching into battle with that song playing, absolutely brilliant. And even the preview went all out, subverting the usual final episode format (at least as far as I've seen), with even the ending theme and book card getting skipped. Next Episode: "I have a sword! You have a sword! SWORDFIGHT!" Now where's Almighty? |
