Ditto to what good points most others are saying. This might just be the most I've enjoyed Sentai in a long time. In terms of just making me smile like a doofus, this is number one.

Luka Millfy
My fave Gokaiger was back, she henshin and fought beautifully. And the ending gave me tears. Yeah it was dumb and plot convenient but I feel like the emotions mattered in the end. |

Now that it's over I'd just like to reiterate that this series was a lot of fun. It's not any kind of end-all, be-all crossover, but it also doesn't have delusions of being one, and instead just focuses on delivering a bunch of fun moments between characters you like.
With Arakawa writing I guess it was always in safe hands, but it really can't be overstated how nice it is to see a bunch of heroes get together and more or less get along. Everyone comes out looking good, to the point where people in this very thread have managed to briefly forget about their irrational hatred of Takaharu, and when you've successfully made the audience enjoy seeing a character they don't like, you've done your job well. Heck, even Yamato's "why not?" reaction to being asked if the Ryusoulgers are the STRONGEST SENTAI EVAR!!!111!!11! went a long way toward making me forget how disappointed I still am Toei went back to the dinosaur well so quickly. For something that only exists to be the very definition of filler, I'd say Super Sentai Strongest Battle is highly overqualified. Toei could've just slapped together some Ultraman Retsuden style clip shows if they needed to, but they went the extra mile, and I'm glad they did.

Luka looks pissed off in the whole time she's on the screen...I wonder why?

Sentai, the franchise where a being named Satan gets killed by football.
If you think that's lame, I'm sorry but no, just no. |

Ditto to all the good things said about this by others so far. This was a fun and enjoyable little mini-series.
Also interesting fact, not sure if somebody pointed this out already, at least one or two members from an anniversary season are in this series and reprised by their actor (out of suit). Yamato from Zyuohger (40th), Marvelous and Luka from Gokaiger (35th), Eiji from Boukenger (30th), Kakeru from Gaoranger (25th). |

It was cheesy and goofy, but it was fun. I really got a kick out of the "wand" throw. To be honest I was a little disappointed. Although I feel any of that was on me for having great expectations than it ever intended. Still I am excited for Ryusoulger, so mission accomplished.
My one hope is that we get some great payoff with Gaisorg. Right now it feels like a mishmash of past villains and extra heroes. I just would love to see him transcend that impression. |
