Apparently this just happened at the annual American Film Market in Santa Monica CA. Toho surprised everyone in attendance by screening a Promo Reel for Shin Godzilla or as it will be known in the west officially, Godzilla Resurgence!
This event and the screening in question are currently ongoing but solid info from the screening should leak soon. Thanks to The Good, The Bad, & The Godzilla for the heads up!

No indication of that currently but it's always a possibility it could have a limited engagement theater run. I doubt it would see wide release like big blockbusters though.

That's such a shame. I would've loved to see that movie in a theater.

Well the Attack on Titan movies got a limited release in the US. So it's possible. The last Japanese Godzilla movie released here in the US was Godzilla 2000 in the US back in 2000. August Ragone on Facebook mention that Toho is looking into releasing the movie worldwide soon. If they do release it in theaters then I do hope to see WB dub it then having the movie be dubbed in Hong King.

Oh god I can't contain my excitement. I was excited when this was announced, but once I found out Hideki Anno was directing I lost it.
I hope we don't have to wait super long for it to come to America

So who do you think will license this movie? Sony since they own all of the others from the 90s onward? WB since they own the new movie series? Or a different company?
I just hope the people behind the movie don't **** it up, especially the Attack on Titan dude who had a meltdown because a person said the AoT movie sucked (which it does from what I've seen of it). |
