So I know Dragon Knight is a love it or hate show, most people tend to hate it, and I'm not gonna deny that there definitely was quite a few problems with it, but was I the only person who enjoyed the ride through?

Heck no! The ride was a little bumpy here and there, but it was loads better than Masked Rider and a fair share of Power Rangers series. I wish they'd done another season as well.

I think most people who hated it spent too much time comparing it to Ryuki. The show definitely had it's problems, none the least it's budget issues which limited what they were able to do, but I really enjoyed the series for what it was. It had a rough first few episodes, but I felt it improved very much as the series progressed. The ending could have been better, and would have been better had the money not run out, but I didn't find it inherently bad. It worked well enough in some regards.

I liked it.
But I had a hard time watching it and even then, I always had to have it as background noise rather than dedicating my attention to it. But aside from their Henshin call of "Kamen Rider", from what I did get to see, I enjoyed it. |

It was ok, could have used some better actors. I didn't like the fact that they switched Kit from Dragon Knight to Onyx. Defeats the purpose with him being the star of the show.

Let's get one thing out of the way though. Like or hate other aspects of the series, Xaviax made it work. I don't mean the ending, because... I don't need to explain how much that ruined his image. I mean, the man behind (in front of?) that abomination, William O'Leary. You have no idea how disappointed I am that we'll probably never have a toy of Xaviax.

The first empty promise was actually a hint at a Xaviax in the Dragon Knight line! Easy to guess how that turned out... I'd kill for the Figma to have been released. It's the one thing Max Factory could do that Bandai couldn't really one-up. SHF Kanzaki just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I really enjoyed Dragon Knight while it was airing. I think what it hurt it was the fact that towards the end, the storyline just became meh ... one of those series where they build up to this big thing that never really happens, and storylines are almost entirely forgotten.
Kamen Rider Siren was pretty awesome though. (...it was Siren, right?) |
