Growing up in Philippines, stray cats would come to my house all the time. Loved those guys. Right now I have a 10-year-old Jack Russel living with me. So you can clearly tell what camp I'm on.
I also love birds. And fish. Actually I don't think there's any animal I dislike.

There's a difference between just not liking cats and going on crazy rants about how cats are despicable and deserve violence. It's a massive overreaction. Just say you don't like cats and move on. Considering they say not liking dogs makes you mentally ill, I can't imagine they wouldn't get equally defensive if someone were to post a rant about hurting dogs. I agree that someone calling them a serial killer goes too far, but you've gotta admit DH had a far from normal reaction to the mention of cats. My sister got jumped on by a random lab as a little kid, and was terrified of dogs for a good portion of her life and still isn't the biggest fan of them, but she doesn't go around telling dog owners that their beloved pets can get fucked with a tire iron
I completely agree. I was just noting the whole serial killer angle as thats quite hurtful to imply to someone. But i do believe that yeah, the rants were over the line and all the violent opinions on cats were absolutely uncalled for. I completely get why someone would be a bit defensive at that. Personally, i like both dogs and cats, i just got involved bc it looled like a bit of a dog pile when some ppl began to say something was wrong with him. I didnt mean to insult anyones feelings or their relationship with their pets. Just the whole "serial killer"and "something wrong with him" bits were not needeed. |

Here is my small, idiot child.
He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Just a lot of dumb ones. And at present he's scared of the stairs.

I'm more of a dog person, but I do live with a couple of cats. One is a lazy couch potato who wines a lot and causes no end of headaches for my sister, the other is a little gremlin who is either stupid or the sweetest little monster ever. They're not bad and can be reasonably well behaved.
For dogs, my current friends are both border collie mixes, one being a sweet little nimrod, the other being a wiggly, dual-eyed girl, who is between the two the troublemaker. They're both still puppies, maybe a year or two old at least, and while they can be a handful, I still love them. I don't have anything against any kind of animal, as someone who lived with fish, birds and a couple of precious lizards, even though they can be a nuisance at times, the companionship and sweetness is something I wouldn't give up for the world. |

I'm still sorry about my comment from yesterday, I'm tactless at the best of times, but that was particularly bad. Hopefully you all can continue to put up with me, even when I find new and innovative ways to put my foot in my mouth in the future.
Anyways, here's my floor goblin. He's made of nothing but muscle, I kind of wish I had named him Ryuga as a nod to Build, but his name is Keats (like the poet). I didn't realize what a daft creature he was at the time I named him!
