Or they could just make the movie good?
There's a reason why we still talk about movies like Double Indemnity, Touch of Evil, The Maltese Falcon, Bride of Frankenstein, Alien, Aliens, Jaws, A Clockwork Orange, The Thing, etc, these days. If they focused on writing a good movie first, and then worried about the effects second, people would go see it.

Well on the bright side, they just saved me money by telling me not to bother buying the movie.

I think a sequel is still fairly likely. I don't think we're going to get the full 6-movie saga that was being talked about before the film came out, though.

Yes, but Star Wars and Jaws are still talked about today becausae they were well written beyond just special effects. They featured characters we loved, thus showing that people will attach themselves to good characters over visuals. Plus, you can only see an explosion so many times before it becomes meh.

Come to think of it, thta is the problem. Everyone is stuck in a safe zone these days. Toei has had Sentai in the safe zone for nearly a decade. Video game companies got into one last generation. Movie studios are pretty much in there too now. |
